Good Morning Monday 9th May 2022

Good morning from a mild NE.
Yesterday was a lovely day spent with the family. We had wall to wall sunshine for our trip to Howick Hall where we had a picnic lunch before spending several hours in the gardens.
We had Earl Grey tea and cake in the tearoom, a must do as it is the origin of the tea blend.
We spent the last part of the afternoon on the beach, a rugged coastline with a special kind of beauty.
I slept like a log last night, so much fresh air.

Back to earth after seeing my 3 Birmingham children dancing at Birmingham Rep yesterday where Birmingham Royal Ballet celebrated 25 years of their Dancetrack programme.
I wondered whether any other GN grans were in the audience with me?
The Rep was packed for both performances - just amazing.! (GS1 on the extreme left - his younger brother sister nearer the back)
Back to normal now - but what a glorious morning ???- wishing you all a pleasant day.

Good morning from the Scottish Borders where it is windy and cold!
I have been enjoying your news and thinking, lovingly of our time in Córdoba Pantglas. We stayed in a friend's flat right in the centre, on the top floor of an old apartment block with its own patio and a view as far as the eye could see.

Back to reality. I must get some food in. I keep forgetting to shop.
I have another U3A walk later on.

A quiet Monday here. A bit of housework and admin. DS's bedding is on the line as he won't be home for a fortnight.
I may persuade DH to have a drive to a garden centre as I found some vouchers while sorting out my handbag yesterday.

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny ?? Northampton. Think I will go and get some washing on.

We had lovely weather yesterday too; DS came down and spent a couple of hours setting up my new laptop; my goodness, it is so much faster and quieter than the old one which was about 15 years old! There are still some photos on a hard drive to transfer over, but that can wait for another day.

Spent the rest of the afternoon gardening, forked some compost into the borders, scattered my box of wild flower seeds, spread more compost over them, and then watered them in. Next I trimmed the lawn edges and swept up all the trimmings. And by that time it was quite late, so had no time to sit and admire my handiwork!

Will be giving downstairs a good tidy and clean today; am expecting visitors one afternoon this week - and must make a cake as well. And then I might get round to starting my new book!

Hoping today is kind to all.

Good morning from a bright Durham. A restful weekend, gearing up for the coming week.
Garden Centres today, then back to deal with my purchases.
Cheshire Oaks is my SiL’s second home - she lives to shop!
Pleased Harri enjoyed her outing. I remain in awe of gM and her resourcefulness - I hope the new meal timetable is successful. I found my DH was better with his bigger meal at lunchtime, but it’s trial and error as things progress.

Good Morning Mick and everyone from grey and breezy Carlisle. I think we will not see the sun today judging from the tv forecast last night. I was out in the front garden yesterday putting in some bedding and was forced to get the hose out for my other new plantings. The gritty stuff left on top by the developers has obviously drained rapidly in spite of quite a lot of rain in the last week.
Today I shall grind through the laundry and housework. Grind is the word as I had a bad night's sleep. Even my lavender oil and listening to a long chapter of David Copperfield being read didn't work. I usually find I fall asleep part way through a reading and have to re-wind the next day for the bit I missed.
I'm awaiting a telephone call from the surgery which is supposed to happen today but so far they haven't informed me when.
To all of you with really serious problems and worries, I wish you the best possible day.

Enjoyable week in Portugal but lovely to be back in my own bed, hence my being late here I slept till 9 even when going to bed as usual.
Will catch up later breakfast calling.

Good morning everyone, it is a miserable dark damp Co Armagh ,it’s very blustery too , yesterday was glorious so I can’t really complain
We got stuck in erecting the new greenhouse , but had to call a halt , it will be next weekend before we get back to it
My old plastic one fro Lidl is doing sterling service at the minute , but it seems it’s getting the boot as it’s not in the best position ,
GM I had to have midday dinner as OH couldn’t eat much later on
Marydoll you are a great help to the clergy in your Parish , I don’t know how you keep up so well

Good morning all from sunny Kent, now back from sunny Norfolk break. I think I have been in every craft, antique and farm shop from King's Lynn to Holt.
DD1 and SIL now down with covid in Scotland, so we can't help other than phone calls. Having taught all the way through DD is bewildered as to why now?
Piles of washing so better get on with it.

Good morning everyone. It’s cloudy in my corner of Lancashire, currently 14°C. The weather forecast is for sunshine this morning and rain later.

It sounds like your trip was a little disappointing Mick. I’m sure Cheshire Oaks is lovely, but not what you’d expect on a mystery tour really.

No real plans for today other than housework and a walk. It was very busy here yesterday and I didn’t enjoy my walk as much dodging bicycles, dogs, runners and stray toddlers. I must remember to ring for my blood test results, I didn’t do it on Friday as we were out.

It’s good to read of people enjoying days out, visits and holidays.

Isn’t it a shame when we welcome any new posters ? and then they don’t return? Perhaps they prefer reading to posting after all. I used to have my little joke about ‘and how much is the value of your home’ - a lá the Daily Mail - but after a while I stopped doing it as posters rarely stayed and tapping it out frequently was a bind in the end!

The original plan for the Mystery weekend was to leave Llandudno on Sunday morning and go via Betsy Coed and Llangollen on A5 to the garden centre , which as the Knives sculpture near Oswestry , before returning home .
But roadworks would have caused delay.
But enjoyed Cheshire Oaks visit .

Sorry your trip was a disappointment Mick, I've never been to Cheshire Oaks, I expect it's much the same as other outlets, but I hope Llandudno didn't let you down, it's such a lovely town.
Pantglas glad you enjoyed Cordoba, not much chance of us going that way now, pity.
We are so busy getting ready to go next month to Ireland, you'd be forgiven for thinking we are preparing for a trip to Australia! Probably because we have not been out of the UK since before lockdown.
Today I have a busy day with telephone calls - just had one from my sister, there rain is just starting with her in Dumfries & Galloway.

Good morning. Dull and now raining here in Dunblane. Large pile of ironing awaits today not my favorite thing.
Had a lovely catch up with former department colleagues from school at a restaurant I hadn’t been to before on Friday. First one since Covid started it used to be a regular 2-3monthly thing. Next on planned for August though.
Reading about all those with holidays planned or on holiday makes me jealous will have to book something soon.
Marydoll sounds as if you are pushing yourself too much again. Take care.

I wonder what’s happened to the German lady who was moving to Liverpool to be near, I believe, her son? She always sounded so enthusiastic about the move but I haven’t seen anything from her for possibly a year now.

It’s the best time of the day here with a temperature of 23° already. It tends to get too hot for me in the afternoons at this time of year and by the time I’ve adjusted the weather starts cooling down again.

Me too JenniferEccles re amselerin (?) and her little dog Waldi. She used to like my morning posts about what train was in at Urmston railway station. I hope she is in good health and happy.and that her move to be near family in the NW went well.
