Ann, I hope your granddaughter comes through this awful thing and before too long it’s just an awful memory. I have several scars and a couple on my arm in particular caused me a lot of angst when I was younger. They stretch from wrist to elbow with the arm being misshapen. It took me a long time to accept them but I do now. Likewise my daughter has a scoliosis scar the length of her back. She doesn’t think of it now.

Grandmadinosaur I would be raging at that fine! So unfair.

Youngest DD told me one of the ways to fail a driving test even if everything else was great is to not park right between the lines. You have to be able to parallel park and park against the flow as well.

So that’s probably what the fine is about. Still tough though

Thank you all so much for your very kind messages of love and support.
My GD was home at 3am having been stitched up by the maxilla facial unit at Wythenshawe hospital.
I only saw a glimpse and the wound is looking red/black and sore.
She is very distressed as it mirrors the scar she already has from her cleft and with which she has never come to terms.
I feel heartbroken for her.
Once again Thankyou for all your kindness.
A lovely bunch.

If I can give you some comfort?
I too was bitten badly by a Westie on my upper lip when I was 21y. I had many stitches and a huge dressing. The wound throbbed for ages and I had to drink from the other side of my mouth through a straw during healing.

The good news is the face has a very rich blood supply and that very richness aids healing. Over time, my scar became so much less visible.

Now that was almost 50y ago and medical expertise is even better now. Your darling granddaughter will be as good as new soon enough I promise you.

About 3 years ago my Blue Badge was in my car windscreen but I had put it upside down. Anybody could still have read it but I was given a ticket. I fought and actually won which did surprise me.

I know I don’t come in to the kitchen much now after being a regular for many years but please indulge me and pray/ send best wishes to my DGd tonight.
Some of you know she was born with an horrendous cleft lip and palate and she has had many operations,.
Tonight she has been bitten on the face, by her friend’s French bulldog.p, she is currently in A&E.
It is deep and wide.

Just been told she is being transferred to another hospital for specialist treatment,I am distraught.
She lives with me and is my dearest friend.
