All good pals and
Jolly good company.
Love to you ALL. Take care of yourselves and each other. I shall be with you again as soon as I'm able.
Yes thanks folk. I have recovered.
The worst bit was that I was dying to empty my bladder!
Jax Tonight, I am looking forward to a couple of glasses of my favourite red wine. Mr S will relish is Friday night wee dram with a splash of water.
Time for me to log off. It is windy and wet. We shall be going to the village plant and bake sale tomorrow. I'm hoping that the weather is kinder, as it's an outdoor event.
Thank you for your company.

brook You sound relaxed and totally in the mood for your lovely holiday treats. Make the most of every moment.
dustyangel You have another special family visit to anticipate. I am happy for you.
We look forward to seeing the photographs that you mention. Here is the Kintyre sky I photographed through the window last night.
Seems like Friday night is curry night for a fair few, cottage pie here and I’ve made a huge lasagna as my son and family are here tomorrow for a late lunch.
Good news Blossoming pain about the appetite, maybe little and often?
I do hope your grandson recovers soon Yia it sounds Mose uncomfortable, poor boy must be quite down.
I’ve watched bits and bobs of Chelsea soop fatal to watch with the iPad close!
Have a wonderful break brook sounds glorious.
You should be very proud of that display Naughtyneine hope you’re prepared to be asked again!
Friday night is pub night, I think it’ll be a fleeting visit for me, I’m looking forward to a glass of wine later, usually shandy in the pub.
Bye for now..
Thank you Baggs for keeping us all updated regarding Baubles. Best wishes for her continued improvement and patience for her in what will probably be a trying time. ?
Beautiful bowls that are made to be admired for their own uniqueness.
My SiL was the last of our visitors to leave, he had an extra few days due to many changes in flight times. He returns in six weeks time with DD1 at last, for what is their actual holiday although they are trying to fit a couple of long weekends in between September and Christmas.
I have some photographs of birds and sunsets sent by DGS that I shall try to post when I get them transferred.
Galen thank goodness you had your phone with you, I’m glad you didn’t suffer nothing worse than the loss of the firemen
Hi everyone just a quick visit to the kitchen to say hi to everyone
We’re at DS apartment in Basel, had a lovely day in the sunshine down by the River Rhine, sat out watching the world go by - like you do
We’re off out to a restaurant later for dinner
Haven’t caught up with all the kitchen news yet but just had to say what a gorgeous Imp you have there GG!
And beautiful flowers nneine
No point asking me if it’s too early for a G&T - I started on the wine early afternoon today ?
Urmstongran
I see wehave a very similar home to yours GG13 in some respect ... we share the same doorstop.
??
That was The Imp making an escape from the play room upstairs ??
Naughtyneine Your flower arrangement is perfect. St Jude will be nodding in agreement.
Gin-time is about 8:30 for me. You, on the other hand, deserve one just as soon as you wish. Cheers!
Good afternoon to everyone...I keep meaning to write everyone's name down so I can respond but keep getting side tracked by the snippets of news. I got asked to do the flowers at church...I could hardly say no as one of the ladies is unwell and the other is away. So it was with more than a bit of trepidation I set forth armed with a bucket full of flowers. For once I didn't mind that Mass seemed longer than normal!!!!. I hope that there are no professional flower arrangers at Mass on Sunday... It's only a very small parish so everyone will know I did the display. I prayed very hard to St Jude who is the patron saint of lost causes...not least that I wouldn't have to call DOH back from work to get me up off the floor after I'd cleared up ( I had a new hip 5 weeks ago). In the end O was a bit like a tormented pilgrim walking on my knees across the altar until I could get to the priests chair and a stool to haul myself up...I can't be absolutely certain but I'm sure when I looked at the statue of Our Lady she was smiling.... What time is it ok to start on the gin? I'm asking for a friend obviously!!!!!
Blossoming That is a good result. Well done. Keep taking the tablets. I'm pleased to hear that Mr B is keeping a close eye on your diet. It isn't unusual to lose one's appetite when feeling poorly. It will be a good sign when you thoroughly enjoy your meal again. The chicken curry sounds very tempting. Mr S would love to join you.
Yia I believe that stress can trigger shingles. Damian is far too young to have to deal with such a distressing condition.
You are lucky to have somewhere local that serves a good curry. Mr S would think he had gone to heaven. He relies on M&S ready meals for such treats.
Grannygravy The image of your grandson speaks volumes..."Places to go. Things to do". Just as it should be. Enjoy your well deserved curry treat this evening. I would choose Balti.
I see wehave a very similar home to yours GG13 in some respect ... we share the same doorstop.
??
Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. Good news, my uric acid levels are responding to the new drug and are down from 500 to 352. So I won’t need to increase the dose and should not have any further gout attacks. The nausea is lessening but I still don’t have much appetite. Mr. B keeps a close eye on my food intake as we’ve been through this before when I’m unwell or changing meds.
It’s cold, wet and windy here today, still awaiting the forecast sunny intervals. I have a chicken curry maturing in the slow cooker with lots of red onion and peppers. A cold day needs a hot meal!
Snap Yiayia4 we are going out for a curry tonight, I am toying between a King Prawn Dhansak or Balti.
You must have green fingers Jax beautiful peony.
I remember that time well GG great fun.??
Damian is feeling very sore and achy today poor boy I hope he recovers soon,it’s a rotten illness.Does anyone know if it’s caused by stress? He’s been doing his mock exams and of course is very concerned for his grandad with Alzheimers.
No cooking tonight curry at our local.
Enjoy your evening all
Welcome home, Nannytopsy. Sorry to hear about the one dodgy house rental. How distressing for you. Perhaps you ask for a part refund. I know that I would.
We always stay at Premier Inns. They are reliably welcoming, comfortable and, most importantly, clean. The latter is a must.
Galen Are you recovering from the trauma of being stuck on the stair lift? Have you recovered from being deprived of the company of the three hunky firemen?
Sue Oh, the joy of moving house. I remember it well. It is always hugely stressful and most certainly tinged with sadness. You will take with you many happy memories. A very good thing that you checked that cupboard. The new owner would have believed that you had left a most generous welcome to your new home gift.
I hope the pussy cat settles in your in-between home.
Urms What a sweet and caring gesture.
gillgran I am shocked to learn that children as young as your daughter was, can contract shingles.
Yia I hope that your grandson recovers asap from shingles. Again, I had no idea that anyone his age could suffer with such a distressing illness.
Jax Lucky lady! The peony is perfect. Have you been watching the Chelsea Flower Show on tv? My favourite gardener, Monty Don, is one of the presenters.
mrshat I also wish you good health and happiness.
Baubles is never far from my thoughts.
I go away for a few days and look what happens! There were 193 new messages to read!! Far too many to respond to but welcome to the new posters and best wishes to the sick/recovering/ nursing. Galen!
We had a soggy time in France but good food. One good house rental, one very dodgy. I went out and bought new bed linen which I think says it all.
Now in Poole Premier Inn which is blissfully clean, modern, lovely bed linen and no rickety toilet seats!
Sis in law today, DB’s golden wedding tomorrow and home on Sunday.
I can’t wait.
Thank you for all the good wishes! ? It’s been a long day, mostly successful but with a few hiccups along the way, as you’d expect. We had a power cut halfway through the afternoon, just as we were cleaning, which was not useful, especially as one of the neighbour’s burglar alarms went potty.
Then after the men left I couldn’t find my handbag so called them up because I thought it must have got packed. They said they’d look first thing tomorrow. Two minutes later, I found it on the landing next to the main bathroom! I never take my bag to bed so how it got there, I have no idea.
We finished up the cleaning and packed up the cars with the cat, his essentials and our essentials for glamping in a small flat for three months, then did a walk-through to say a fond farewell to the house. I casually opened a cupboard door - and it was full! ?. Arrrgggh! No room in the car so now we’ll have to go back first thing tomorrow to retrieve the stuff. Much of it is alcohol, so is obviously essential.
TOYA!
Pleased that MrSoop is making good progress, & is able to be getting back to normal.
Love the "hers & hers" toe rings, Urmstongran, fun moments with your DGD.
That's a fine looking peony, Jaxjacky.
Yiayia, we were surprised when our DD was diagnosed with shingles at only 12 years old, ( 30 years ago), it was painful for her, on one side from her waist to her knee, (at the back, so she couldn't sit down!!). She did make a good, swift recovery, & I hope your DGS does too.
warm thoughts for baubles, & for you all.
‘Evening All’.
No ‘Dixon’ tonight as this made me laugh at teatime.
May I share?
L’il Miss was sat next to me on their sofa. Then she said ‘sit there grandma, don’t move’ and ran off into the playroom.
Next minute she came back with a ‘ring’ and put her foot next to mine.
She does make me giggle. I took a photo!
?
I hope SueD has had a successful day, with minimal stress. Great you can venture out again soop miracles of modern medicine.
I’ve potted on and a delivery from Farmer Gracy means planting and watering tomorrow. Library and farm shop took up a goodly part of my day too.
Hope your grandson recovers quickly Yia.
Fingers crossed baubles is improving, my long awaited peony flower has now opened. I only grew veg really until last year, after living here for 23 years, now I have the magic of flowers.
Enjoy your evening all x
Thanks Baggs for the good news on baubles - long may it continue.
Lovely bowls ladies, definitely do not need anything in them. They are a joy in themselves.
Best wishes to everyone for good health and happiness
My GS is 15 years old the GP said it’s usually mild in children,I do hope so.
Your family trip will be wonderful Soop worth the wait I’m sure.I’m counting the days until our trip to Greece a few weeks to go yet.??
Yia I look forward to seeing the result of your new diamond art picture. Those I've already seen, have been beautiful.
Shingles can be extremely painful. What age is your grandson? No doubt the GP will be on the ball. Please update us.
Mr Soop has had the car serviced. Such things are important. They are also costly.
All good wishes to those Gransnetters who are feeling out of sorts. Especially Baubles who remains in my thoughts throughout the day.
Continue to enjoy your holiday treats and family reunions. I've a while to wait before we make the long awaited trip to be with our family. I cannot imagine how we shall feel when we see two new great grandchildren for the very first time. Also, two others for just the second time. There will be cuddles galore.
If the weather is pleasant, we shall take a stroll tomorrow. Mr S can now drive safely. A blessing, as we have no pavements for a long stretch close to our home. We drive to just outside the village. A pleasant walk through parkland takes about 45 mins.
Nice to hear from you Muse and pleased your DH is soon having his op.
Such good news about Baubles wishing her a speedy recovery.
Having a wonderful time in Switzerland Brook such a beautiful country.
My number1 DGS has shingles.I was surprised at his age. However its not bothering him too much at the moment.
I’ve just started a new diamond art picture it reminds me of Sweetie Pie Soop will take a pic when finished.
Have a nice evening all.
