May I ask what documentation do they accept if you have been retired for a few years?

Just had to renew mine as they last 2 years, really had my moneys worth in that time.

Would this be for carers as well or just NHS?

Thank you Jaffacake for highlighting this scheme of which I was unaware. I run e-commerce for a charity and while we need income I think we also have scope to offer these discounts to keyworkers. I have requested a meeting with the charity's trustees to see I can obtain their agreement to join the scheme.

Yes, I’ve just been told that I can still have a card now that I’ve retired. Very handy for Asda and Iceland. Every penny counts!
