Good Morning Georgesgran smile

I'm in Canada; and because I get up very early, even on a national long holiday weekend like today, I can just about join in the 'good morning' thread!

I did smile when I read your bit about having a blind man coming around; that was funny and glad you clarified that!

Your cough and earache sound awful, hope it gets better for you soon.

All the best to GrandMattie and all who are suffering sadness or illness at this time.

?welcome Lark123 hope you enjoy this lovely thread.

Good morning Mick, Annie* and all.
I had a wonderful 'big' birthday yesterday. DD and SIL had arranged a family lunch in their very pretty garden. It was just right, as I can't cope with big gatherings these days. My clever neighbour had made me a cake, pic to make you all jealous ?
This afternoon I have an audiology appointment, just to bring me down to earth.
GrandMattie I was so sorry to hear about the problems you had with trying to get you DH seen whilst he is so poorly. Do try and have a rest today, perhaps while DH is snoozing.
Hope you get your wardrobe doors sorted out Marydoll before Mr MD finds out.
Have a good day one and all.

Hi Lark 123 - welcome to this gentle thread. Where are you?

Georgesgran Mon 23-May-22 10:00:24

Good morning from a bright, breezy Durham. Recovering from a hectic weekend with DDs and DGSs. I’ve a cough to kill a horse and earache.
Blind man coming this afternoon (he’s not blind, he’s measuring up some windows for blinds) so I’ll make sure he has good access. Hope it’s not a hard sell situation. I have a gut feeling I’m not going to qualify for their special offer. Cynical?
I’m sorry to hear gM trials, but like Harri not surprised. We stopped leaving messages for one of the oncology nurses as she never picked up and never replied to any messages left for her. After another poor weekend without any calls back, I remember ringing the Consultant’s secretary to get a message through and was advised to take DH straight through without delay, where he was admitted with another bout of sepsis. Hopefully .gM things will get easier as your DH’s ‘Team’ get more familiar with him and his situation. ?.

Have a good day GN’s.

Good Morning Everyone, Good Morning Blossoming as we met last evening smile

My first post here, so I'll just say a quick hello and wish everyone, everywhere a good day, whatever will make it that way for you all.

Good morning from a wet W Kent. Dropping DH off at the dentist and I think it will then be a quiet day for us both. Lovely day yesterday with the family but a bit of clearing up to do.
I hope you get things sorted out today gM trying to do anything on a Sunday is so difficult.
Best wishes to all.

Blossoming Mon 23-May-22 09:07:52

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s cloudy in this corner of Lancashire, currently 12° C.

Just a flying visit this morning. Another day, another blood test. I will catch up with your posts later.

Susan56 Mon 23-May-22 09:03:59

Good morning from Staffordshire.

DGS has an infection in both ears so it will be a quiet day.We will go straight to Shrewsbury when we leave here as we are going to see Steeleye Span tonight at Theatre Severn.

Stressful start to the day as a phone call from my mum’s drs to say she is very unwell.I had phoned yesterday and thought she was unwell but it’s hard to tell as her mood affects how she is.I called her friend who had tried calling 111 for hours but no reply so had called the drs this morning. It’s difficult as she lives so far away from any of us.I have called my brother and he will try to get over to see her.

Hoping for a better day for you and DH grandMattie.

Wishing everyone the best day possible??

GrannySomerset Mon 23-May-22 09:03:44

After a lovely day at yesterday’s christening I am exhausted his morning - too much unaccustomed talking I expect. DD and DSiL have already left for home and their bedding is in the machine but don’t think I will have the energy for much else. It doesn’t really matter though.

So sorry that gMattie is being poorly supported at a time when she doesn’t need extra complication. Hope today is better.

EkwaNimitee Mon 23-May-22 08:53:42

Good Morning Mick and everyone from grey Carlisle. The showers were heavy and prolonged yesterday afternoon so I didn't bother getting out in the garden.
Nosy neighbour me kept an eye on the front but didn't see anyone viewing the house next door, the first weekend it's been on sale. A bit surprising because the market seems really hot here and nothing seems to be up for sale long.
Today is my main housework and laundry day but I'd also like to get out and feed the hungry looking patches on the front lawn that I missed before.

I hope you and your DH have a better day today grandMattie, life seems one struggle after another for you at the moment.

And wishing you all the best possible day.

Meant to say I loved those poppies last week hollysteers and Taichinan

dragonfly46 Mon 23-May-22 08:37:12

Urms you made me chuckle. I love your way of thinking. I wish I was so organised. I shove random things in the case and when I get there nothing matches.

Stilllearning Mon 23-May-22 08:32:33

Morning from as Lanarkshire, don’t know what the forecast is but I suspect it will involve rain,

This morning I’m meeting DD 4 for a walk and catch up. She has been down South on a two week course for her work and really enjoyed it.

Then a trip to the people who did alterations to my ‘holiday clothes’, they have missed a skirt which I really want to take. Almost three years on since my last venture abroad and quite a few things needed shortened ?, I must be shrinking and I didn’t have the height to lose!

This trip is a very unexpected treat from Oban DD, a week in Majorca with her family and I am so looking forward to it. Just to have the time with them, especially my lovely DGC will be wonderful. We leave next Sunday so this week will be spent getting organised.

Off to church soon, remembering as ever all those who need support and wishing everyone a good day ???

ginny Mon 23-May-22 08:31:22

Good morning everyone. It’s looking a bit dull outside, glad we took advantage of the sunny weather yesterday.
Lots of jobs to do at home today and must start thinking about what is needed when we go away on Friday.

I also want to make time for some sketching/painting. I have joined a challenge to do something each day. I’ve never thought I could be any sort of artist but am coming to realise it’s all about the enjoyment.

? for all who need cheering and wishing everyone a good day with a smile along the way.

Greyduster Mon 23-May-22 08:18:08

Food morning Michael and all GNs. Cooler and cloudy in South Yorkshire today. I am at DD’s. I slept through the night for the first time in ages and my son in law, who has a day off today, has just brought me a mug of coffee. He is going to put some air in the tyres on my car before I go home. The most I could ever manage with the little machine thingy we have was blowing up my grandson’s football!
GM you’ll certainly need a nap today. Chemo is hard work for both the patient and the carer; so much of it is uncharted territory for both and it’s scary, but you’ll get there??
Have the best day you can folks.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 23-May-22 08:17:11

Morning Mick and all

It’s grey here and damp, with showers forecast for most of the day, which means I shall drive down the road to the gym instead of walking.

grandMattie ((hugs)) you are doing a grand job of looking after your DH, please find time in your busy days to look after you ??

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

Grammaretto Mon 23-May-22 08:15:25

Good morning from the Scottish Borders. My training for volunteering has been called off as the store manager has covid.
I am tired after the weekend so am quite glad to do little. I could cut the grass and tackle housework.smile
I am so sad for you grandMattie it's too hard. Did you say DS is coming?. I hope he can help.
I hope all those on holiday are enjoying themselves. Great photos Ash

Chrissielou Mon 23-May-22 08:09:27

After a beautiful weekend weather wise this morning is cool and cloudy.
I'm so sorry to hear of your difficulties with the chemo triage team grandMattie, thats very disappointing. As you know, my DD1 is having chemo and the service she receives is very different, and they always stress that any temperature must be checked with them. She has called her team's number a few times with concerns including high temperature, and has never been fobbed off with 111 as it usually relates to chemo side effects. I hope the temperature is down this morning and he has a better day, I hope they will also advise on the sickness too.

I hope everyone has a good day and is blessed with some sunshine.

BlueSapphire Mon 23-May-22 08:05:07

Good morning everyone from a rather grey Northampton, showers forecast later. Must try to cut the front grass which is looking terrible, full of dandelions.

Had a pleasant afternoon yesterday snooping wandering round open gardens in a nearby village, plus coffee and delicious home-made cakes. Bumped.into two friends as well. One of the gardens, well, estate really, had alpacas and llamas which came up to inspect us.

Will cut the grass this morning, then this afternoon a 'techie' person from BT is coming to upgrade my broadband/WiFi; hopefully he can also sort out the rats nest of assorted cables that DH left! And hope that the cats aren't too inquisitive....

Ash, hope you enjoy Tallinn, which I visited on a cruise three years sgo; the old city is beautiful.

Hope things go better for you today grandMattie.

Gingster Mon 23-May-22 07:59:28

Good morning all and it’s a grey one here in Suffolk.
Today we will be travelling back to Essex, and we have a busy week ahead. It’s a shame to leave this peaceful place but it will be nice to see family and friends.

DS2 has safely arrived in Florida with a very excited family. It’s extremely hot there so I expect they’ll spend some of their time in the pool.

DS1 starts a new job in the City today so fingers crossed all goes well.

Wishing you all a good day ???

Urmstongran Mon 23-May-22 07:57:23

No Matt ~ it’s Monday.

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s warmish. The sun is trying to shine at least.

We have no plans other than Himself will go over to the barbershop at some stage. I might get summery clothes out of the wardrobe and see where the gaps are to accommodate our upcoming 10 day holiday. Then I shall make a list and go round the Trafford Centre on Wednesday. Beach wear, day dresses and evening wear. 10 nights for me = 5 outfits & wear everything twice!
?

Have a good day all who can. x

Pittcity Mon 23-May-22 07:56:50

Good morning from rainy Colchester. Forecast is that it's in for the day. So the laundry is drying indoors again.
I've taken to daily shopping again for just what we need for the next 24 hours. I've found it saves money and gives me exercise. But I've got to go out in the rain......maybe I'll ask DH for a lift?
Love to all ? x

harrigran Mon 23-May-22 07:52:28

Good morning from a dry and mild NE.
SIL came yesterday and we cooked dinner together, we had a Chassagne Montrachet with prawn thermidor tarts and Navarin of lamb. When we came to pudding we didn't fancy it as the creme caramel was all sloppy.
Today we may go bird watching as we have a reserve just a few miles from here, Good time to see the chicks.
Thoughts are with gM and her DH, ringing the oncology unit ringing 111, I am still waiting for a nurse or doctor to ring me back 8 months on.
Lovely photos Ash, happy holiday.
