What You Look Like & What You Wear ?

Can't stop, quick change of clothes because I'm heading out again after a few hours in school, (navy all the time!)
I'm a Joules girl, and as many florals as possible. Will be wearing the navy one this afternoon, the orange one on Friday.

When I am going out, I start by thinking about my feet. Is any walking involved or is it door to door? Will I need to stand for long? My feet need to be comfortable. That often means “sensible” shoes, so trousers work best. I have never worn jeans.
I am never sure what to wear with skirts or dresses, unless it is a smart do, when I will wear smart sandals, with a tiny heel. My feet soon get cold, unless it is a heatwave, so I am most comfortable in socks, but no way am I wearing socks with a dress!
The rest is easier, once feet are sorted.

Most of my clothes are from Seasalt, Boden and White Stuff so you can probably guess what I look like. I veer towards blue which suits me. Gym pants in 7/8 length also feature in my wardrobe as they’re the perfect (full) length. No prizes for guessing I’m petite in height.
I often wonder how a stylist would accoutre me. For major events in the past other women have advised me on the dress, shoes, handbag, tights, make up, hair, etc. One, a good friend, made earrings to complete my outfit. Much to my surprise as I prefer to avoid attention, I thoroughly enjoyed it and felt good.

I only notice people's clothes if they look stunning, or alternative absolutely dreadful. most of the time I do not notice what people are wearing.

I had a mother, and, especially, a grandmother who were extremely stylish, despite having minimal incomes to do it on. I have never been able to aspire to their innate elegance, but share their love of clothes, and their economy of only buying clothes when I have a perceived need for them.

I wear the same things all year round, adding cardigans or jumpers in winter. I love bright colours, even though they`re said to make fat people (me) look even fatter. Rarely wear trousers, can`t wear heels, so my footwear is mainly wedge heeled sandals. I don`t recognise all these fashion names being bandied about, I`ve been dressed by Bonmarche and Damart for several years now, with an occasional foray into Zulily. There, I`ve given myself away as boring and frumpish!

I mostly wear casual trousers and tops, I discovered the Euphoria site online and get a lot of things there. They cover a multitude of sons without looking like something from Evans The Outsizes - does anyone else remember the shame of that carrier bag? ?

In my new home (small complex of supported living, independent apartments) my clothes have become a source of fascination to the other rezzies. The men seem particularly taken. It can only be for the clothes not for me - I don't have the kind of bahookie to incite admiration.

We had a community breakfast today, and the woman next to me said, "You wear....Interesting tops...." I decided to take it as a compliment and thanked her, while thinking silently that it was a shame I'd thrown away my FCUK T-shirt. ?

I think my style is more Barbara Woodhouse than Kylie Minogue…..I’m guessing I’m older than all of you!

I like to think I look smart and dress 'age appropriately' but I'll bet that those with more adventurous tastes will think that I look a bit boring which is their prerogative.

I dislike the latest fashion to look scruffy (lots of holes in trouser legs) and wearing black head to toe. I like to make an effort.

Despite my user name I only possess one beige cardigan.

I never wear black. It makes me look as if I am attending my own funeral.

I do not have a style icon, but I do have style advisors, DD and, especially, DGD (15). if she says something is 'cool', which she did of my full fashionably shaped dress and denim jacket that I wore to her birthday celebrations this last weekend, then I feel really confident

I love colour, especially jewel and autumn colours. I wear a lot of brown in all its autumnal variety. In winter I wear jeggings, jeans and cords with richly coloured sweaters and smock style tops and the summer cotton version of that in summer.

I shop Culture Vulture, Landsend, Sainsbury's, Leclerc (big supermarket chain in France), Vintage, online and charity shops, and, at some time or another, almost every other clothes retailer around.

I have stopped wearing black close to my face as I think it can make you look drained. On the rare occasion I do wear a black top I usually also wear a bright scarf.

I prefer navy to black these days anyway but didn't wear it for years as it was my school uniform colour

I tend to wear shirts/blouses these days rather than t shirts as they don't cling to every lump and bump - and I have quite a few of those. Preferably in cotton. I also wear tunic tops. I wear them with leggings, cropped trousers (narrow) or slim leg trousers. Sandals in summer and ankle boots or trainers in winter.

I occasionally wear a dress and have a couple of midi length flowery ones (with three quarter sleeves) that are fashionable at the moment.

I do like the way Prue Leith dresses with all the bright colours and chunky jewellery.

Joanna Lumley always looks lovely in her wafty outfits. I would just look ridiculous as I am short (5'3") and I think she is quite tall.

I wear lots of black and like it. I stopped a few years ago and eventually decided I looked better in black. I accidentally found a way to make my short fat legs look longer, by wearing a shortish long tunic top, with jeans or leggings and boots. I like that look now, and do it a lot when going out.

I do wish I had more of a waist though. Lack of a defined waist (had an hour glass figure in my youth) cuts out so many options .

I'd like to be able to wear more grey. It's a colour I like, but it doesn't really suit me.

I usually wear trousers, not jeans, today it is grey linen. Shirts, stripy tops, artist smock tops. Go to's are Poetry, Wrap, Weird Fish, NoLogo, and perhaps oddly House of Bruar just depends what I am looking for. Dresses, Summer only, kaftan style now.

Well the hippie in me is alive and well and I do love a floaty frock. Black jeans and a nice sweater are my 'go to' or default position. I love Boden and have some Seasalt dresses but finding them a bit Aunty Em who I loved but I keep seeing her in the same pattern as some of my purchases. Have just found Finery whose dresses are half the price of Boden and very eco.

My style icon is Helena Bonham Carter ? I love everything about her.
I also really like the way Kirstie Alsop looks. I really like her dresses.
They are all made by the same designer.
I’ve got a couple of similar (navy) shirt dresses from Boden, but they are made from that really smooth satin-y cotton that loves pet fur.

Lucca I wear navy instead of black. I used to wear lots of black and it was a style mistake.
By my reckoning of the colours that suit you, I’m guessing that you are a Winter.
I’m very much an Autumn. Apparently I shouldn’t wear navy; a poster who is something of an expert on colours told me this - but she added that there are so many different navies that there is one for everyone.

It's important to me now that I'm old to feel comfortable. And I have definitely different clothes for going out or staying in. At home I wear soft comfy trousers and jumpers in winter and t-shirts in summer. And I prefer bright colours.
Mostly when going out it's jeans or trousers with a pretty or stripy top. But now summer is coming I will sometimes wear pretty skirts, or even a dress. Again mostly bright colours.
I quite often change my clothes 2 or 3 times a day. I don't feel any need to conform as to what I should be wearing. I just wear what I feel ok with. I never was a follower of fashion.

I seem to wear a lot of denim, trousers, shirts, the odd jacket. I like linen shirts in the summer. I wear a lot of blue. My neighbor pointed out that I don't dress old, I'm assuming that she meant not like her mum who's a 15 years older than me. Not that I'm channeling my inner teen but I have a casual lifestyle and I wear what's comfortable and practical. I buy from Poetry, White Company, Great Plains. I always fall back on Landsend as again they are practical.

Well it’s different now for me …. I had silvery hair cut in sharp Bob. Now I either wear a similar wig or a bright coloured bandanna or baseball cap. I had a lot of wrinkles but post chemo steroids have given me smoother skin (I’d gladly have the wrinkles back and the C gone)
I wear navy rather than black
I love blue turquoise pink light grey.
I like Zara dresses and Masai or Sahara (sale price !)
Go to outfits for summer linen or cotton tunics with Capri trousers.
Dont know about seasonal colours but I don’t suit brown green orange or yellow.
