Does any one else look at these? Dd and family are on holiday on the Isles of Scilly so I am looking at live web cams for some of the islands to see what the weather is like, how empty the beautiful white Sandy beaches are, and how envious I am! Who knows I might even see them. Dh is looking at live webcam of steam trains at Blue Anchor and wishing he was there!

Yes. We're always on these. I look at Venice a lot, watching people and remembering the wonderful times we had there. When some family members were in New York, I saw them on a webcam.

We often look at the webcam for Eilean Donan Castle and the village of Plockton in the Highlands. Also the Oban Pier webcam.
Lovely at different times of the year and we see some fabulous sunsets.
All places we love and always makes us wish we were there.

We are New York watchers too.

I do but in some cases they’ve actually put me off going to a particular place!

During the lockdown of 2020 I got into watching live streams of various places and things. I watched the live streams from Venice. Very surreal seeing it so empty.
I also found the osprey nest cams, and have continued watching those, particularly Louis and Aila raising their 3 chicks in Loch Arkaig.
Aila didn't return in 2021 so Louis found himself a new mate. The osprey world is like watching a soap opera. ?

We look at live webcams on the Burnam-on-sea sea front.
We have a static there and like to know what the weather is like for family who are using it.

We waved to my daughter in England from the Santa Monica webcam about 20 years ago which was a novelty. She was at home watching us.

I will, if I can find one near our hotel or resort. My DH and I really love the beach compared to a pool at a warm destination, so I will see if I can find out what the beach actually looks like compared to the photos on the web.

I also love Google earth, and will check out the streets nearby our hotel. Love Paris, and have re-visited the neighbourhood where we stayed near the Saint Placide Metro.

If I am really bored, I will pick a spot anywhere in the world and 'drop down'via Google maps street view.
