Sorry Maw but we are the older generations - even at 45 we are past the halfway point. Doesn’t mean we are decrepit, just that there are more younger than us than older.

Can you back that up with demographic/statistics?
There is an ever-increasing proportion of older people as we are tending to live longer and I was not aware that the birth rate was rising.
Anyway I think it is still ridiculous to characterise young middle-aged people as older generations

VioletSky your own admission you are mid-40s. Many of us have children older than you and do not necessarily consider ourselves to be in our dotage.

Older generation? - huh! Ask me in 10 years time.

I did think that you're a relatively young Gransnetter, Violetsky

I'll ask my DC!

Honeysuckleberries

Common sense.

I don’t think that’s existed for a long time!

Marmalade, which makes me sad as I love it - but it only seems to be eaten by over 50s.

Terrestrial TV, radios, alarm clocks, watches (for telling the time only), face to face GP surgeries, shoe polish. All sorts of manual things in the house, lights, curtains, blinds, toilet flushes, gauging water temperature for bathing, lawnmowers and the list goes on.

Bigotry towards people who are “other”. Things that many older people still consider moot: race, faith, sexuality are simply not up for debate with most Millennials, Gen Z etc.

I worry about the future of libraries.

I really hope so
