Ooh Cherry an honour to have you with us.
Don’t worry about us, Pants and I were in the same class together at Miss Marydoll’s school. Pants was head girl so is used to getting her own way. ?

Hello all ?. One time frequenter of the Alphabet bar here. I've only been in the Argy once but I thought I'd join in a little of thedrunken merriment today.
I see Pantglas has provided some non firing fireworks confused so I've brought some sparklers which the Admiral has assured me are Elf n Safety compliant hmm. They are colourful, they're claret & blue Ixion. I hope I'm not going to be barred before I've found a nice patch of sawdust to stand on I won't be patted down to check whether I'm smuggling anything in will I since I have secreted my trusty hip flask about my person ?
Doodle I hope you and Pantglas don't end up squabbling having clutchbags at dawn ⚔️ over a swordman! My advice ... drink plenty of poteen and they'll all be equally handsome and gorgeous ?
Party hippies ? Party ?

Hey CC?

Look what I've, er, borrowed to go with those colourful ?.

Ooh ixion you were always one who could source anything.
What a fun party time.

When you're a West Ham groupie supporter, the world's your oyster.

CherryCezzy Thu 02-Jun-22 15:38:10

Ooh I like the colourful array ixion, that's what I call ExPloSive !?. It's not gonna frighten the shell shocked Admiral is it ??
Oysters? As long as you don't source jellied eels not a good combination with poteen. Doodle's a dab hand at sourcing Lobste/ars but maybe ? the crustacean variety isn't right for the Argy!
How's Fanny getting on with the corgis? I can always swish my Tigger tail at them if they're getting out of hand ?

GrannyGravy13 Thu 02-Jun-22 16:01:19

I have been rooting through my freezer, have found sausage rolls, vol-a-vents along with some assorted quiches only problem being they have been in their since the Diamond Jubilee, should be ok if washed down with poteen…..

Have got some out of date Gaviscon and Pepto Bismal just in case

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 02-Jun-22 17:19:39

Ooh, I always wanted to come in but some of you may remember that HM wouldn’t let me. ??Anyway I’m free now and couldn’t wait so hope you don’t mind that I’ve come in straight from gardening. Are you open yet? I’m dying for a pint of the Jubilee poteen ?and any grub that’s going, out of date is fine by me, just like home. I’ll just plonk myself down by the Admiral if I may, to - er - keep the pong in one place after my horticultural exertions. Oof, that’s better. Will Alarma let me stroke her or do I need to wash and change into my ? first?

Doodle Thu 02-Jun-22 17:28:41

GSM the Argy is always open (except when it’s closed of course). You are most appropriately dressed. So glad HM let you out. Er you’re not tagged are you?
Hmmm. I would stroke Gnasher if I were you. The problem with Alarma is you never know where she has been …..or who with ?
Grannygravy lovely to see you. I have a feeling those sausage rolls and vol au vents are the ones we had on sale here in the Diamond Jubilee (leftovers from the Silver I believe)
They should be prefect about now. Coming up to full ripeness.
Any way our Jubilee Poteen is a bit like a well known toilet cleaner…kills all known germs. ?

Doodle Thu 02-Jun-22 17:34:49

I seem to have lost my handsome guardsman……. Anyone seen Pants ??
Cherry those corgis are following you around. They are so impressed with your Tigger tail.
Psst* ^I have heard a rumour that we might be getting some celebs in soon. The usual GC and Sir Tom of course. Maybe even Shh you know who …..

ixion Thu 02-Jun-22 17:49:14

Oh no, please.
Just no.

ixion Thu 02-Jun-22 17:59:50

C'mon everyone! We need to get this bonfire bigger than this.
If we can build it big enough, we are guaranteed the presence of some rather gorgeous firemen.
Yes, complete with very generous hoses Doodle

LauraNorderr Thu 02-Jun-22 18:33:22

All those empty whisky barrels in the cellar should burn nicely, oops ? I promised the Admiral I wouldn’t tell that he’d emptied them.

LauraNorderr Thu 02-Jun-22 18:36:16

Okay okay, I might have helped …hic

Germanshepherdsmum Thu 02-Jun-22 18:37:28

No, AGA, no tag. FREE!!! I would love to stroke Gnasher. Oh, he's lovely. Take your point about Alarma ... So kind of you to let me in without changing into decent clothes. Could I beg another pint please before I get cleaned up (the Admiral doesn't seem to mind)? Hic!!! Will try to smarten up soon, like the look of the firemen - hic!!! See you soon, hic!!! Oops!!!!

LauraNorderr Thu 02-Jun-22 19:03:57

Hope no one is casting nasturtiums about Alarma who is looking resplendent in her platinum purple llama coat.
I have found a big hunky Queen’s guard passed out in the alley, I’ll drag him in and we can play ‘pin the medal on the hunk’ later.

Doodle Thu 02-Jun-22 19:05:04

Oh Ixion well done that bonfire is amazing and with Pants fireworks the night should go with a Big Bang. I have the fire brigade on standby. Grannygravy has worn out all the ?‍♀️ So we need some replacements anyway.

CanadianGran Thu 02-Jun-22 19:17:36

Just popping in to say have a happy celebration... looks like it iwis well under way.

I did see on the news the Queen coming out to her balcony, (just a short clip on the news) and I admit I had a lump in my throat. Who was the old fella with her?

GrannyGravy13 Thu 02-Jun-22 19:27:32

As you Argy regulars know I have a penchant for firemen, so I have roped (literally) some in incase the lighting of the Argy Beacon goes wrong…

brook2704 Thu 02-Jun-22 19:28:38

Oh my goodness I’m late for the party ?‍♀️ I was getting the bunting ready and almost slipped off the ladder when the llamas went galloping past, took me ages to round them all up and settle them in the paddock. Alarma insisted on her usual chips of course so had to go and get them from the chippy and whilst I was there bumped into May Hem - didn’t know she was back in town
Anyhow I’m here now and reporting for duty

ixion Thu 02-Jun-22 19:30:18

The Duke of Kent (85). He is a cousin and close friend of GM. Their dads were brothers.?

GrannyGravy13 Thu 02-Jun-22 19:32:14

Keep May Hem away from my firemen

Doodle Thu 02-Jun-22 19:36:56

Welcome CanadianGran what a fabulous day it’s been for us.
As Ixion said the old chap was the Duke of Kent. He did well doing all that saluting.
Ooh Laura what did you do to that guard to make him pass out?
Well Brook we wondered where you were (or who with)
Glad you’re here. We’re expecting quite a crowd of ?‍♀️ Later and some ?‍? and even maybe crown ?….you never know.
My Jubilee pudding seems to be selling well (despite what’s in it ) .

Doodle Thu 02-Jun-22 19:38:06

Oh no not May Hem. That’s all we need. I hope Alarma can keep her at bay ….she’s always wanted a bite of her posterior.

brook2704 Thu 02-Jun-22 19:43:43

How’s the Jubilee poteen getting on ? I’ve got the coach load of regulars from the bowling club queuing up outside ..

ixion Thu 02-Jun-22 19:50:16

I hope they don't think it's our usual Grab a Granny Nite

Tonight is sooo much more refined - or it would be, if we can keep May Hem at bay and persuade GSM to grab a quick ?.
Wonder if a hunky fireman might oblige?
