Probably will get blasted but was sad that Prince Harry and Meghan were not seated together...this was a Service for all family/faiths and religions and Harry and Meghan were not together.

Harry and Megan got a huge cheer coming out.

I wonder how the Daily Mail and Daily Express will spin this? All those royalists gathered outside, some booing Johnson and cheering Harry and Meghan.....hardly a leftie revolutionary crowd either.

Bea65 Fri 03-Jun-22 14:32:26

Yes it was good to hear the cheers for Harry and Meghan..wish people would spell her name correctly wink

Calendargirl Fri 03-Jun-22 14:34:25

I don’t care what anyone thinks of Boris, but he is still the Prime Minister, which is why he was at the Thanksgiving Service today, I assume at the invitation of the Queen.

Being booed as he arrived is disgraceful, and shows disrespect to the Royal Family, as it was their occasion, not some political jamboree.

I was just thinking the same Calendar. It was not the time or the place.

Gaga Thanks for the link.

Goodness knows why H & M were cheered when they threw the Queen, the RF and the UK under a bus! Why cheer? It seems contradictory when you're standing outside for the Jubilee to cheer for the opposing viewpoint.

Dempie55 Fri 03-Jun-22 14:41:10

I think their PR team paid people to go there and cheer.

Bea65 Fri 03-Jun-22 14:41:18

Free speech/free cheering...he was disrespectful to the Queen on the eve of HRH Philip's funeral...I wouldn't want someone who so flouted the rules, especially the PM at the Queens Thanksgiving Service.

vegansrock Fri 03-Jun-22 14:41:52

It showed that most people haven’t taken “sides” despite attempts by the right wing media to stir up hate. Harry and Megan are an attractive couple and the fact that they’re welcomed back shouldn’t surprise people. They haven’t thrown anyone under a bus btw.

Aveline Fri 03-Jun-22 14:48:51

'Most people'? I think not! I still can't get over the sheer disrespect and all round brass neck/ignorance of calling their daughter Lilibet.

Bea65 Fri 03-Jun-22 14:59:35

Really Aveline...look at history..why are boys still named Henry! Henry VII beheading his wives when he 'fancied' another one...Am sure Her Majesty is fine with her 11th grandchild being named Lilibet Diana...I think this would please her ....so don't know why you feel this is brassneck/ignorance!!

Aveline Fri 03-Jun-22 15:12:54

I don't know why you can't see it Bea65.

Bea65 Fri 03-Jun-22 15:16:34

To have a grandchild named as your namesake is a pretty good family honour..don't know why you have blinkers on....

Well, the Queen obviously did want him there, as I’m jolly sure he wouldn’t have been invited otherwise.

And he gave a Bible reading, again with her approval, I bet.

Bea65 Fri 03-Jun-22 15:41:56

Well maybe I'm in the minority, but was pleased to see Harry and Meghan at the service and, hope, that Lillibet is being christened tomorrow with the Queen in attendance!

Aveline Fri 03-Jun-22 15:58:04

Bea65. On holiday recently I met some Americans who also thought it was lovely to have called this baby Lilibet. Once they knew that it was the Queen's very personal pet name only used by her late parents and husband they understood what a deeply insensitive thing it was to do.

According to Fox News, H & M were booed as they left the cathedral. In my opinion they deserved it.

Joane123 Fri 03-Jun-22 16:01:53

So all of you criticising Megan and Harry for calling their little girl Lilibet know that the Queen wasn't consulted? Oh, I forgot you all have a direct personal communication line to the Queen.

I am glad to see Harry and Meghan and the children arrived here.

Kate1949 Fri 03-Jun-22 16:16:34

Calling the baby Lillibet is cringeworthy. I don't know how they've got the cheek to come back after that Oprah interview. As for cheering them, people cheer the dreadful Camilla too. How quickly we forget.

Anniebach Fri 03-Jun-22 16:24:00

Camilla has never given an interview or written a book about
the royal family

Calendargirl Fri 03-Jun-22 16:24:09

Have to disagree about Camilla Kate1949.

I thought Prince Charles looked very pensive at times today, and honestly think that without Camilla’s love and support, he wouldn’t be as keen to take on the role of king now he’s in his 70’s.

Allsorts Fri 03-Jun-22 16:28:27

They are non working royals and are accepted back in the fold despite maligning them. I personally don’t care if they come here or not, I feel she needs control and Harry goes along, that’s up to them.

Anniebach Fri 03-Jun-22 16:33:41

Boris’s reading from Phillipians -

‘What ever is true, what ever is noble, what ever is right, what
ever is pure, what ever is lovely, what ever is admirable, if
anything is excellent or praiseworthy , think about these things’

Practice what you preach Boris.

crazyH Fri 03-Jun-22 16:39:53

I was actually thinking of Princess Diana and the day she married her Prince Charming in St Paul’s. How tragic it all turned out for her ?

Kate1949 Fri 03-Jun-22 16:41:21

And very convenient for Charles and Camilla crazyH

BlueBelle Fri 03-Jun-22 16:48:16

Kate1949 what an unpleasant post ….Camilla is one of the best things to happen to the RF and to Prince Charles and why shouldn’t his gran see Harry and Meghan the vitriol against them is absolutely awful His choice to move away from the RF is to be admired, he got out and is doing his own thing good luck to them both and their lovely babies if I had been unlucky enough to be born into the royal family I d escape too ?
