I'm not keen on a lot of Kate's clothes. Of course, she plays it very safe, sensible women. Designed to fit her role. But frequently clothes the Queen would have worn 20 years ago. Quite different in her private life, I'm sure.
Exactly. Just because I don’t like the way that she dresses, doesn’t mean that I don’t think that she looks good. But I do think that she dresses very safely, which is part of her job of course. I’m rather in agreement with what Hillary Mantel wrote about Kate a few years back; which caused rather a hoo hah.
I don’t think Bea’s dress was frumpy. It wasn’t a bright colour, but the style emphasised her lovely trim figure. She has often got it wrong in the past, and this simple but elegant dress and hat suited her, looked classy but not attention grabbing.
I wish David Dimbleby hadn’t kept describing Catherine’s dress as ‘yellow’, it wasn’t, it was ‘lemon’.
That dress Beatrice was wearing yesterday though, it was much too old for her, I thought she looked frumpy. It’s the gathers, also the puffy sleeve joining that does it, and the colour didn’t suit her. Eugenie looked sharp, her dark hair suits orange which not many can pull off, and her dress was well cut and a bit different. I appreciate we all have different taste ourselves though.
I wonder how much say Beatrice, Eugenia and the other women have in how they are all dressed for such occasions. They must not clash, they must not dress the same. I thought they all looked lovely yesterday with one exception - in my opinion Zara’s half-hat, half-fascinator looked like it was about to take off her head! She looked happy enough ‘though. Like her mum she is probably happier in casual clothes.
I’ve always really liked the way that Beatrice and Eugenie look and dress. They always look at ease, and, to my mind, appear to be dressing for themselves; and having fun with clothes. Much more characterful than Kate, whose sartorial sense definitely isn’t to my taste. I hope that they don’t start dressing in a more boring, identikit style.
I agree their dress sense has improved. They never looked good in the past but I thought that was their mother's influence as her dress sense has always been, and still is, quite dreadful.
How can you possibly think it’s acceptable to speak about people like this? Complete lack of decency.

I thought Lady Louise Windsor looked lovely. She tends to wear rather old fashioned clothes and it was lovely to see her in a younger brand. She seems a credit to her parents and a lovely young lady.
