Just watching the concert at Buckingham Palace and who should pop up but Her Majesty doing a beautiful clip with Paddington Bear. Even better than her appearance with James Bond

The artist was a lady called Eleanor Tomlinson from East Yorkshire.

How lovely lots of positive responses to the Queen and the Jubilee. We are so lucky to gave her. ?

I've tracked them down. They are from Topsham and are now the most famous residents in the county. Proud to be from Devon!

What a fantastic weekend. Well done to all those organising it and all the participants. A wonderful event after dealing with covid and all that went with it. A great thank you to Her Majesty for all that she has done in the last 70 years. What an incredible Lady.

I did wonder if it was actually her when I saw it, thought it might have been an actress.

Pooh you were just jealous the Queen didn't invite you to tea and produce a honey sandwich from her handbag! grin

Germanshepherdsmum Tue 07-Jun-22 08:40:27

No, definitely HM.

I assumed the extra day of celebrations meant Friday and Monday so was surprised when the local shops all closed on Thursday! I also came late to the concert so missed about 30 minutes and Paddington! Thanks for the link. It was excellent.

I bet the organisers are relieved it all went so well though I was concerned that Diana Ross was going to fall up the steps with her flouncy frock.

Lovely to see how many young people were fully involved and had obviously worked/trained hard to honour HM.

George is obviously a child who needs his sleep! I had one like that. He seemed to perk up again towards the end.

I don’t see why Charles shouldn’t take up the role he’s trained for. He’s so much happier now with Camilla by his side.

Hopefully William’s children will be rather older before his turn comes about, so he will get to enjoy his delightful youngsters.

The comments here warmed my heart! How wonderful the whole weekend was. I wasn't able to watch yesterday as i was flying most of the day but I will catch up tomorrow in quiet. I will never stop supporting the Monarchy and i think, judging by the crowds and the loyalty they showed. that a republic is a long way away. We do not need s party political
President. Charles, followed by William and then George sounds good to me

Brilliant, brilliant!! I loved the bit when she was tapping the spoon on the teacup in time to we will rock you!!

Maudi Mon 06-Jun-22 18:16:06

Wasn't it wonderful, very British, have watched it about 3 times lol.

Athrawes Mon 06-Jun-22 18:05:46

It was a fun piece and reminded me of the James Bond entry at the O2.

Loved the bit with paddington. Pity about the concert finale

The guy waving the huge Devon flag must have a very sore arm today. He was at it all weekend!

The whole event was so slick and polished, using 3 stages to avoid any gaps between performances. We are good at making it look so effortless to the world. If I had any criticism it would be that I would have liked to see some young children performing too.

Supernan05 Mon 06-Jun-22 16:46:29

Like many, I had no idea who the younger acts were, but the whole concert had something for all ages. I was very disappointed with Diana Ross and felt her performance was an anticlimax! Dame Shirley Bassey would have been a far better choice despite being older than Diana Ross
Queen and Adam Lambert were amazing and seeing Her Majesty and Paddington “playing” along with them was just unbelievable.
All-in-all the jubilee long weekend was a fantastic tribute to such a wonderful lady, our Queen.

Gillgran it’s the Devon flag (St Petrocs Cross). Wasn’t it an amazing few days? It was so good to see people and, especially, children having fun. Nothing anywhere in the world could match that x

gillgran Mon 06-Jun-22 16:15:30

I've been "out-of-range" internet wise for the past 4or5 days, so just catching up on gransnet. This is the first thread to catch my eye!
I did watch most of the Jubilee celebrations on TV, & loved it all.
& thanks, I wondered what/where the green/white flag represented,(on the mall on Sat.,evening, & again on Sunday at the end of the pageant)!

Nanniejude Mon 06-Jun-22 15:31:33

Adorable! She’s everyone’s Grandma ?
