Good morning from my but of Leicestershire which is, strangely, very similar to dragonfly's. We are about 4 miles apart!!

I had a fabulous (if cold and wet!) weekend. Our choir sang 5 times in total. I still can't sing but really enjoyed all of it.

Singing lesson (!!!) today. Then we have to go and look at fridges....again.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Oops predictive text - I actually meant to say a terrific atmosphere meaning amazing and good, - not^terryfying ?

Gymstagran Mon 06-Jun-22 07:55:55

Good morning from a cold, damp, grey west midlands. After a busy weekend will try to get back to some sort of normality. Grandchildren all back at school. I'm venturing to book chat at the library. It will be the first time I have met people, other than family, since my loss.

Good morning from a dull and misty Leicestershire.

Despite the weather the Street party was amazing. Lots of catching up with neighbours old and new and delicious cakes which were eaten when the competition had been judged.

A quiet day today.

Hoping everyone has a good day.

Pittcity Mon 06-Jun-22 07:52:32

She really enjoyed it Brook. She said they were told to keep up a fast pace, which was difficult while playing a bass saxophone. She was tired and dehydrated by the end.

Pittcity Mon 06-Jun-22 07:49:55

Good morning from rainy Colchester.
The rain held off for our Street Party yesterday. Lots of people in coats and scarves turned up. My next door neighbour and I won the jubilee quiz but we got nowhere in the bingo. DH was too busy chatting to join in. Very glad I took a flask of tea to keep me warm though.
DS went out with his friends to celebrate his birthday, which is how it should be.
We watched the pageant on TV in the evening but the cameras just missed my niece.
Today will be laundry and general housework.
Love to all ? x

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a dull rainy Hull. I really could do with it nice so I can get all the bedding and towels washed from the weekend.

We had a lovely weekend with family, my sister and brother in law, their son and grandaughter. We saw nothing of the jubilee on tv. They visited my mum at the caravan and we saw my DD and DS and my DGC. We ate so much and in the evenings sat around playing raucous games of UNO the card game. Which sometimes was a bit too much for my great niece. I said to her if it doesn’t get silly we aren’t playing it properly so once she learned it properly she found it great fun too. Yesterday lunchtime when everyone left we slept the afternoon away we were so tired. Last night we watched the jubilee concert on catch up. Really spectacular wasn’t it. ?

Today back to the routine, we have our DGS after school.
Hope you all enjoyed a fun filled activity packed weekend.
Take care. Virtual hug for those with illness and worries. ??

Grammaretto Mon 06-Jun-22 07:41:49

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders, where it is cool and cloudy.
Volunteering today at the community store. I hope I'm not on stocktaking again. I took my df for lunch there yesterday and there was live music so very pleasant.
I hope things work out well for you Mick, and for Susan's mum.
Timely reminder about the sweep grandMattie thanks.smile
After all the parties and socialising I am looking forward to a quiet week.

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 06-Jun-22 07:34:18

Good morning all from dull Harrogate
I think your GP is more likely to want to check your medication to see what’s causing the Low Blood pressure Mick than give you anything to raise it.
Todays the day! We take the train to Surrey to my sisters house, then on Wednesday we fly to Dublin I may or may not get a chance to post until we get back in about 10 days time. Packing has been a nightmare. But it’s now done!
Have the best day possible folks

Urmstongran Mon 06-Jun-22 07:30:56

He is knackered but happy GG13! He always loves play time with the grandchildren. He has great ideas for fun things to do and they adore him for it - and money doesn’t come into it. Children love it when people just give them their time don’t they?

ginny Mon 06-Jun-22 07:22:52

Good morning everyone.

We had a good time at our neighbourhood get together yesterday despite the weather being dull .

Today DH is off to golf and I have a few jobs to do then I intend to spend time doing some sort of art.

DGS2 (6) starts a new school today which is near us. They will be parking at our house and walking the rest of the way. He’s been very excited that he will be able to see us each morning and after school. I wonder if he thinks we sit indoors every day just waiting for him to visit.

Thoughts with all who are dealing with problems or illness and wishing everyone a smile in your day.

Good morning from a drizzly and grey Black Country.

Started sorting out summer clothes yesterday for our holiday to Lindos next week. It was so dull and grey it felt like Autumn rather than the beginning of summer.

Finished my book yesterday, Both Of You by Adele Parks. I wasn't expecting the ending!

Monday walk this morning, then pottering about this afternoon.

Best wishes to you all

Marydoll Mon 06-Jun-22 07:15:32

Good morning all from what was a sunny Glasgow, until a few minutes ago.

I'm so excited, I have an empty, DH is golfing and both DD and SIL have gone into work. No home workers today! ??
I shall take the opportunity to access my summer clothes, some of which are in their room, in my overflowing wardrobe. I can find nothing at the moment. I hate a messy house and both lodgers are messy.
However, I shouldn't complain, they have their uses. ?
DD made dinner again, cooking a chicken on the barbecue, the smell reminded me of holidays in Spain, where you see chickens cooking on rotisseries.
As usual, it was chaotic and I had to deal with the aftermath, but the chicken was delicious, accompanied with baby salad leaves from the garden.. My windows and dishes are sparkling, my lovely SIL loves doing them. A very strange man indeed, especially since we have a dishwasher. wink

I don't plan to do much, just some pottering in the garden and making salmon fish cakes, a special request from DD. I shall have to wear gloves, because the tips of my fingers keep bleeding and I don't think plasters in the fish cakes would be very nice. ?
I have no idea why this keeps happening. I don't feel it happening, I only know when I see blood on whatever I am working with. Answers on a post code, please!

Good luck at the opticians Mick and I hope you get some advice on the low BP.
Special thoughts to GM, Baubles and their families and the many regulars on here who are struggling.
Enjoy your day, what ever your plans.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 06-Jun-22 07:14:24

Morning all

It’s grey here in S E Essex.

If it doesn’t rain I will walk down the road to the gym (1 mile) if not I will drive. Then it will be a pottering day.

Urmstongran enjoy your holiday, is the birthday boy enjoying it also?

grandMattie I do hope you get time to sit down sometime today.

Susan56 fingers crossed there is a solution to your Mums situation.

Keep safe and well folks ??‍♀️

Grandmadinosaur Mon 06-Jun-22 07:13:50

Good morning from a wet East Yorkshire.

I’m very envious of your holiday in Ibiza Urms a place we are very fond of.

We had an enjoyable time yesterday with the family at our afternoon tea. Then I watched the end of the pageant when we got home. Emotional seeing the Queen at the end.

No plans today I’m feeling a bit washed out after the last few days so will take it easy.

Take care everyone.

monk08 Mon 06-Jun-22 07:11:13

Good morning all from the Black country dull once more, rain all day yesterday.
Need to get in touch with the gas, think we need new timer, heating coming on with the water and should be off.
Going for a meal with family later it's the one for DH birthday they missed when youngest ended up at A&E.
Will carry on reading my book started yesterday.
Have a good day all, best wishes for anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed.
May you all find some ?.

Ashcombe Mon 06-Jun-22 07:10:51

Good morning from a sunny Torbay.

We travelled back from Whiddon Down yesterday afternoon, calling in at Chagford to visit a charming flower festival on the theme of the Jubilee. The roads were surprisingly quiet which was lucky as several parts between Moretonhampstead and Bovey Tracy are single track.

I have a hospital appointment with the cardiac nurse today so an early start to catch the bus. Good luck at the optician, Mick and I hope your GP responds promptly.

Best wishes to all returning to work today or who have responsibilities for grandchildren to enable others to do so. Ibiza sounds idyllic, Urmstongran. I hope your DH remains comfortable, grandMattie. ?????

Urmstongran Mon 06-Jun-22 07:05:10

No Matt - it’s Monday.

Good morning everyone from Ibiza where another gloriously sunny day is forecast. Yes thank you Susan56 I had a lovely few hours alone with our Yorkshire Lass. We decided just to visit the next bay - Cala Llonga - as it was super hot. The temperature rose to 31°C all afternoon! We enjoyed a stroll about, wearing our sun hats and drinking water. After lunch we reminisced about family and friends over a G&T - I chose Gin Mare and she, Tanqueray. I look at her now, a grown woman of 44y and cannot believe how fast the years have flown by, seemingly all of a sudden.

Anyhoo - definitely a day for sitting by the pool, under a parasol with my book. I’m loving this holiday. More than I thought I would. No frictions (yet) but there’s still 2 days to go so I won’t count my chickens till they’re hatched. As we all know family tension can land anytime with a careless remark or an ill placed comment ...
?

Enjoy Monday all who can.

BlueBalou Mon 06-Jun-22 06:26:22

Good morning everyone, hoping for a sunny day here in Ceredigion.
DDog is hogging the bed (no, she’s definitely not meant to be in the bedroom ?) so DH has made coffee.
Not sure what we’re doing today but I’m sure it will involve a walk!
Watched dolphins again last evening, so amazing to see!
Have a lovely day everyone x

Susan56 Mon 06-Jun-22 06:20:51

Good morning from Shropshire.

We managed a relaxing day yesterday.

Today we are going to look after our grandson, leaving slightly later today as DD has an inset day so doesn’t have to start work as early as normal. It will be good to discuss the situation with mum with her and get her ideas of how we manage going forward.

Thank you for all your kind words yesterday.Hope you found somewhere nice to visit yesterday Urms with your Yorkshire lass.

Wishing everyone the best day possible??

grandMattie Mon 06-Jun-22 06:03:58

Good morning from a greyish E Kent.
Everything is happening this morning. The cleaner comes and we change the beds together - laundry, obviously. The chimney sweep comes for his biennial clean; we barely use the fire but it is wise to keep the chimney clear. The gardener is also coming, probably this morning too…
Another quiet day. DH was disappointed when the programmed tug by game was not shown. He would have enjoyed that and it would have kept him awake for a bit.
The roast lamb was delicious and everyone enjoyed it enormously. Lots left for today and tomorrow.
Jubilee parties are now over, life must be a bit flat for lots of people. But I hope everyone has a quiet day, May the sun ☀️ shine on your lives. Carpe diem. ????
