That was a right old strop prince Louie pulled off watching the parade with poor Kate trying to be firm in the midst of the worlds eyes He pulled faces, he thumbed his nose tried to smack her face a few times I think that he needed the naughty step , I wonder if that’s where he went when they got home He’s obviously ‘the character’ in the family

Do they still employ Norland Nannies?

My grandparents wanted my mother to train as a Norland nanny and they drove all the way down south to the college…My mother then told the Principal she didn’t like children, ?
I imagine it was a rather quiet trip home.

?

My mother wasn't Norland trained but was offered a job in London after the family had got rid of two Norland Nannies who proved to be unsuitable!

Bluesky I think being a nanny must be a lovely job, very rewarding. But also hard because you have to be respectful of the parents' wishes even if you disagree.

Thanks Joseanne. Wanted to do that once upon a time!

Joseanne Sun 12-Jun-22 13:15:51

I think they do BlueSky. A girl from our school went to the prestigious Norland College in Bath. From what I heard about the training, it was pretty comprehensive and impressive.

Joseanne when my friend’s 2 teenage daughters entered a door slamming phase she warned them there would be consequences if it didn’t stop it. They didn’t believe her till she came upstairs with a screwdriver and removed their bedroom doors for 24 hours.

Wait until the adolescent slamming of doors and shouting starts! Good job the royals live in robust detached properties!

A friend of mine’s son
(aged about 4, I think ) once called downstairs,
‘mummy, dont come upstairs and see what I’m doing!’
I should imagine that she moved like a rat up a drainpipe.

My friend’s 2yo would look her mum in the eye and say ‘Sorry, mummy!’ before she did something naughty, like one time, sticking a pencil into an electric socket! shock

I’ve just made us both a GnT. Well, it is Friday. There’s a great Facebook vid showing a day in the life of Prince Louis. Made me lol.
I have a 3 year old grandson whose behaviour at times makes Louis look saint like. ‘I’m sooorrryyyy, I said I’m sooorry’ he wailed the other day. He’d lashed out at his (saintly) 6 year old brother with a felt tip, caught his face. Yes yes, he apologised, he was spoken to very firmly by grannie (no parents present, just their 4 youngsters). The other 3 looked on with great superiority and judgement as grannie told him off and set out in simple words why that behaviour was Very Wrong. I’m soooorrryyy he wept ??

I'm showing the lowlife tendencies another poster accused me of a while back. Guilty as charged.

At least the last few posts have humour, gutter or otherwise ????
