Good morning all,

It’s a lovely start to the day with some sunshine, though it’s forecast to cloud over by early afternoon. I hope it remains dry though because I want to get on with some tidying in the garden. Before that though, I’ve got my Pilates class. Missed it last week as there wasn’t a class due to the bank holiday.

I managed to find an outfit for a wedding I’m going to next month, which I’m pleased about. Just need to find some shoes now, which I always find to be a chore as so many are uncomfortable and/or too high - can’t wear heels as high as I once could.

Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning from Shropshire.

We are off over the border to North East Wales shortly to look after H and take DGD to and from school.I will have a walk down their lovely lane,DH and H may join me!

grandMattie, I am glad the problem resolved itself but feel for you trying to contact agencies and waiting for call backs.

Yesterday was another day waiting on hold for hours,it’s so frustrating.I was given the name of a volunteer agency yesterday who were so helpful and supportive.

Ash, I too can relate to resilience being lower as we get older.I am glad you resolved the problems although am cross on your behalf that you are having to fund the redecoration yourself although I know that is what we would do too.Hoping for a more positive day for you today.

Oops, glad the picnic went well ?

Have the best day you can everyone??

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ? ☀️Northampton. Got some washing in, and another load waiting.

Sainsburys delivery later then lunch and then off to tap and ballet classes. An evening walk follows, then dinner at the pub, so a busy day ahead.

Hope all your problems resolve, Ash.

Hope the sun shines on everyone today.

Good morning all from a sunny East Yorkshire.

What a day Ash I hope today is a better one.

I hadn’t been feeling too good since Monday so contacted my Drs yesterday. I thought it could be side effects to the meds so I had a phone consultation. As my BP readings are in normal range he seemed to think I had been over medicated So I am not to take any more of the meds but continue to monitor readings for a week to see how it goes. I also have a blood test on Monday.
I enjoyed the dance show I went to last night it was Oti from Strictly. She is an amazing dancer.

I will see how I feel after breakfast today as to how my day will go. DH is away to London overnight. The company has been nominated for an award at a ceremony this afternoon. As DS is also going DIL has asked if I would like to call in after school. If I feel up to it I shall go.

Take care everyone.

Good morning everyone from a sunny but chilly Oxfordshire.

Our picnic went well yesterday, one of our group kindly said ‘come to ours’ so we all went to their house and sat in their garden in the sun ( and breeze) but it was lovely, of course the person who would have enjoyed it the most was sadly not with us, she is still sorely missed. Some people we hadn’t seen since her funeral so it was good to see each other again.

Planting a few bedding plants later, lots of rain again overnight so that’s an afternoon job.

I’m slowly clearing each room of ‘stuff’ some to sell and some to Charity shop as some items are too big or fragile and can’t be posted to a buyer, but it’s a slow job and a reluctant one, even though these things haven’t been used for years in some cases, they have an emotional attachment, however, it has to be done sometime and I’d rather do it than leave it for others down the line.

New fridge needs a new seal, who knew that the door seals contain magnets? I didn’t and our new fridge doesn’t have any and that why it won’t ‘stick’ , so a new one is on its way for us to fit (hopefully it should be a simple job.)

Computer guy coming today to sort my PC out as I spent an hour with ‘Technical support’ earlier this week, but it’s still a bit flaky. He will do it for free if I supply coffee and cake, Simples!

Apart from that nothing to do except some washing whilst the sun shines.

I hope the sun shines on you and yours today, with hugs for those with worries and cares.

Ash I can relate to resilience being lower the older I get and DH who let nothing get to him is worse since his heart attacks.

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Essex by the sea.
I'm off to DD1 in Leamington at 09.00, will arrive about 13.00.
I realised last night that I have inadvertently upset people by not being here this weekend. Without going into detail it involves a first Communion. Not being Catholic and not being religious I didn't realise that I would be missed.
DD2 had a nasty accident on an escalator on Monday, she is very bruised and has a nasty gash on her knee. I think she was more embarrassed than anything else.
I hope you have a better day Ash, what a lot of things going wrong all at once.
Well I must get on if I am to be ready in time.
Have a lovely Thursday everyone xx

Good Morning everyone from Severnside. A sunny start with light rain forecast for later. Starting tomorrow it’s sunny days ahead.

I think I should share some time with a couple of non favourite pals today. I’ll flick the duster about as me and Hoover waltz from room to room.

I’ll also try and remember to book a tip run for one day next week and that will make me get on and sort out rubbish. I’ve even got a full bin this week. Most unusual!

Have a good day all ???

Good morning from a dreary Torbay. I didn’t post yesterday because I had too many negative items of news to report, some of which have been resolved!

On Tuesday evening, we went to see The Unexpected Guest by Agatha Christie in Paignton for our final evening together before DH returned to France. The play went well and kept us guessing as to the identity of the murderer.

On arriving home, DH realised he’d lost his phone! Luckily, we tracked it via the Find My Phone App which showed it was still in the theatre. Unfortunately, he had booked to travel home early yesterday and needed it for his Covid vaccination certificate, required at French Immigration! Luckily, we could download and print a hard copy before he left yesterday morning. He couldn’t book his onward travel ticket either as his bank wanted to send an authorisation code to his phone! I obliged with my credit card! Today I will collect the phone as I’m at the theatre for a singing workshop. I will post the SIM card to him as, due to Brexit, Customs duty would be charged on it, if I were to post the whole phone.

On arrival home from the cruise, I received an email to say that I would be charged a direct debit of £675 for electricity used in May!! We had only been here for two weeks and use little when we are here. Due to the Bank Holiday weekend, I couldn’t resolve this until Monday. A data collector had misread my meter, apparently!

Finally, a long running saga with the builders next door regarding mould on one of my adjoining walls remains unresolved. After initially agreeing to redecorate the room, I was informed by the MD of the company that it’s my own fault. Although I could probably make a claim against them, I don’t need the stress and would prefer to have my decorator here to deal with it, guaranteeing a decent job.

DH is safely back in France after delays on €*. He still has a nasty cough lingering since the heavy cold caught on holiday two weeks ago but Covid tests proved negative. My lovely neighbour upstairs has been given notice to quit by her landlord, after living here for 14 years! She is struggling to find anywhere else as rental properties are in high demand.

I know my problems are minor compared with what some of you are suffering and I have nothing but admiration for the stoicism of many on here, especially grandMattie. My resilience seems to lessen, the older I grow!

Have a good day, everyone and keep smiling! ?????

Good morning Mick grandMattie and all who follow from the Black country, once again the sun is shining.
Gas engineer is due this morning hopefully sort the heating out its like a sauna in here.
Nothing else planned will go shopping later if time allows if not tomorrow not needing anything urgent.
Have the best day you can everyone and may you all find some ?.

grandMattie Thu 09-Jun-22 06:04:32

Good morning from a partly cloudy E Kent.
Not a solitary call from agencies yesterday. I’m not impressed, and glad that the causes of such call had settled and not become urgent. I suspect that was the idea of nor returning my call “within 24 hours”.
Nothing planned today, building up strength for tomorrow. I may do some sewing - I started a patchwork bedspread early last year and lost my mojo after Philip died. I must finish it.
Have a blessed, gentle day. Carpe diem. ????
