I don't think the vast majority on here want to "know" anything Knittynatter. Posters just want to plunge the knife into some poor, hapless victim of their nasty and generally unfounded gossip.

They will no doubt tell you it is their right to tear others apart like this.

I have never watched the programme tbh.
Just doesn`t appeal.
I did read that she has been seing one of the camera men.
Not overly shocked.
Just sad for the family.

There's an 18 year age gap. People change as they get older. I've come across women in their 60s whose husbands are very stick in the mud and don't want to do anything different. It could be that he is no longer the man that she married.

It's very sad news. I haven't seen the programme very often but
have found the young children delightful. I hope that they will all be OK.

In the end you have to believe all this speculation is coming from people whose own behaviour is a mirror image of what they are suggesting for this couple.

"Husband hunting" must have been a 'thing' for them otherwise why would they apply it to others.

I've watched all the shows and read all of Amanda's books. I would say that no attempt is ever made to 'make everything seem perfect' or to parade every aspect of the childrens' lives.

Theirs is a gentle tale of a decent and hard-working family going about all the ups and downs of farming life. Animals die, the weather is unpredictable, nature makes the children wonder, equipment is stolen, ponies ridden and fed, school buses come and go. There are successes and failures, happy chatter over a home made dinner, hand me down school uniforms and peaceful Christmases. To those who haven't watched and are comparing it with other shows like the Kardashians then I would say do watch. It's kind, upbeat and positive.

It's interesting to note that in their own books Julia Bradbury and Ben Fogle mention the family, who are personal friends of theirs, and say only positive things and that their life on screen is representative of their real life.

Read her book so am not the least surprised. Her husband hunting was clearly her way out of a dull life. She’s photogenic and good on TV so this is the next step for her. Pity about the bevy of kids.

How very sad that such a strong attractive and loving couple have been dragged down by the pressure of TV fame. It is almost impossible to fight that. I hope that with time - and hopefully their joint responsibilities for their family, they’ll grow together again. My advice would be for both of them to get out of the limelight. I wish them luck ❤️

Never heard of these people. Whoever they are whatever they do is their own private life.

I hadn’t heard of them either, but given (as mentioned in this thread) that they’ve shared their family and presumably working farm life on tv for 10 years, people are bound to be invested in them as a family and as individuals and will have an opinion, which they have in essence invited into their lives.

Always sad when marriages and partnerships break down. I enjoyed the programme, such a lovely family. I wish them well.

Re the modelling side of things with Amanda I read her book recently and her "modelling career" consisted of her mother taking her to a photographer for some pics and he turned out to be a sleaze bucket who was taking pics of girls and trying to get them in various states of undress. He was exposed in the Huddersfield paper and end of modelling career for Amanda!

But sorry to read of her marriage split, it is always sad especially when children involved and she and Clive had a big family.

That’s sad to hear. I loved that family show on Channel 5

I think that farm is rented, but could be wrong? Despite Amanda earning ‘huge sums’ it’s ‘their money’ and not just hers? I know she decided to move out last year to find space to write her book. I’m sure if they could afford to employ help at the farm, if necessary.

I haven’t watched reality tv programmes since the second series of Big Brother.

However if someone courts publicity for money allowing the world to see their every move and worse still that of their children who have no choice or voice in their publicity stunts then I would imagine people who are interested have every right to make whatever assumptions they want to

Amazed that people can make such judgments about their lives from seeing 6hrs a year and most of that showed sheep and scenery, nobody outside the couple involved can know why their marriage has broken down.
