Rather the general unnecessarily dismissive comments made in response to some of StarDreamer’s suggestions as opposed to just metaphorically walking past.

Does a reply of "No thanks," seem as if answering for everybody?

Just starting Paint and trying to produce something can be difficult for a beginner.

Guidance such as to start with File New, then to do File Properties so as to set the size, and thus the aspect ratio, could be helpful to some people starting to learn Paint.

A suggestion to set the size to 7.25 inches wide, 5.25 inches high could be helpful, if it is explained that that suggestion is so that a print could be trimmed to 7 inches by 5 inches and thus of a size that would fit a frame, sold by a supermarket for a 7 inch by 5 inch photograph.

Jaxjacky and Icanhandthemback it’s only a nasty comment if that’s what you would would say, however many people you ask.
I was simply pointing out that it’s less messy than using real paint in primary classrooms and they can take their art work home without waiting for the paint to dry.

I am one of the last people to "invent" nastiness and I often keep quiet rather than comment. I did however ask someone who isn't on GN to read through first and they came to the same conclusion as me.

Yet again, the same people jumping on StarDreamer's posts. Surely scrolling on by would shut down the threads you felt were boring. He may well have an inflated view of his being a "polymath" or have a different SOH but why is it anybody's place on here to point it out. There's an unkindness here which is surprising from people who are so tolerant for other issues. Is it because he's a male? Come on people, rise above the urge to put a man in his place!

I took the point about “paint drying” entirely literally with memories of clothes pegged “works of art” festooning the kitchen.

No thanks. I teach how to use Paint/Paint 3D/ Paint.net as one part of our primary curriculum. The children enjoy it and there’s no need to watch the paint drying.

And you felt the need to be rude with your last bit about "paint drying". It's just so unnecessary.

I have been trying to find a video in the hope of including a link here, but without success.

Here is a link to a video. The singing is in German, but there are subtitles in English if one switches subtitles on, by clicking the fifth logo from the right on the panel at the lower edge of the picture if one does a mouseover over the picture.

I like videos in a foreign language where there are English subtitles, it helps me learn (bits of) the language.

Regarding the one with the paintings, I had some of them before, but several I had not seen before.

Something interesting.

When I am using my computer to do something I often open the web browser, I am using Google Chrome, more than once and I start YouTube, search for My Mix though it is usually offered upon start up, so no need to search.

My Mix then plays music videos continuously, with the occasional advert, and every now and then needing clicking to continue, the selection being from music videos recently played, based on the History list, together with a few in similar genres added, often "new to me" videos.

So I was rather hoping that the two videos linked by MawtheMerrier would be in the History, but they were not.

Upon invetigation I found that the link that MawtheMerrier posted got changed upon running, and had a reference to desktop in it.

However, I found that if I deleted from after the ? character to and including & and then played the video that the video would become recorded in History.

I deleted

app=desktop&

The My Mix selection updates from time to time - I am not sure how often - yet hopefully soon when i play My Mix those two videos will be included.

When I am eating my meals I am not using the computer for other things and I then put the YouTube MyMix play on full screen, so I get a sequence of videos to watch while I am eating, and as it is in full screen I do not know the running order so a delightful sequence of surprises.

Riverwalk Miller read Natural Scences at Cambridge and has a PhD in Solid State physics. What about Melvyn Bragg? He seems to have an excellent grasp of whatever he is discussing on In Our Time.

Maw Sophocles' Antigone is good on irrational hubris. The best contemporary example I have heard about how hubris leads to a fall was Michael Ignatieff discussing Political Theory and Political Practice on the Philosophy Bites podcast.

SD if you Google Top 10 polymaths or similar you'll see what a polymath is, regardless of the etymology of the word.
