Good Morning Thursday 23rd June 2022
(49 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its a another bright sunny start here in brackley this morning.
Today ,although was considering bus to Bicester will watch the weather.
I had some bad news from GP , they found something in last blood test , and he referred to colour of my poo, when I had those collapses unsure whether blood had darkened the poo .
I have another blood test tomorrow to see if it has changed ,and he wants me to pick up a bowel kit at the surgery as well .
Take Care,
Mick
MOMB there was pony trekking on the Philiphaugh estate a few years ago because I went and it was very enjoyable. There is riding at Kailzie near Peebles too.
Good morning from an overcast Co Armagh,
it’s really warm ,
the greenhouse temperature went down to 10 last night , the vents door and windows are permanently open now , but I do have to pull the door over at night to deter the neighbourhood moggies from going in ,
they leave their mark, which is totally disgusting !
??FC if you’re reading.
Good morning from a glorious Durham. I’ve overslept as yesterday was exhausting and I was out of the house for 10hours without a break. Took DGS2 to The Hoppings (the biggest traveling funfair in Europe) late afternoon, although he’s only a year old, he really enjoyed the sights and sounds - bopping in his buggy to some of the loud music.
My dear friend is 69 today and has Covid, so I’ll have to leave her card and gift in her porch.
I’ve 2 dogs here today, but other than going in the garden, I keep their proper walk until dusk.
gM - a hope your DH’s health remains stable and you have a period of ‘normality’.
Echo other posters about Mick and Marydoll, those with Covid and poor Rosie.
Good morning Mick and all. It’s glorious sunshine again in my corner of Lancashire, currently 20°C and rising.
Sorry you’ve had some worrying results Mick, hope it’s something that can be easily treated. Good news about Iris GM, hope today is a quiet one.
Plans for today are a little housework, usual physio exercises and possibly a walk around the marina. I managed a walk yesterday, the first time I’ve been out since my tumble last week. It was very hot and I was glad of the breeze.
Sending positive vibes to those going through difficult times. I hope today is a good one for us all, with a ?or ??along the way.
Must have been a fun event to ride in at Selkirk, Maw.. I used to ride as a teenager. Would love to ride again! Thanks for advice re Melrose. We are walking some of the John Buchan Way today.
Good morning from a warm and sunny South Yorkshire.
I’ve not read all the posts yet other than Micks as I’m about to start Pilates so will come back later to read them. I hope all goes well with the tests Mick.
Had a lovely visit to my sisters yesterday - not seen her for 2 years, so it was so good to see her. We had lots to chat about.
Hope you all have the best day possible and ? for those of you with worries and troubles.
Take care.
Gingster Wednesday always seem to be very busy for me or I would be whizzing over to that market before I went to the gym, as skate and dressed crab are favourites at Gravy Grange,
Good morning from an overcast and slightly damp Essex.
Am finally showing negative for Covid - only 8 days and with mild symptoms, so feeling grateful for that. Hopefully lulu will be much the same. Good wishes to all those with worries and who are not feeling too good, and hope that today brings some joy.
? to Urms
Good morning everyone from another sunny
warm day in Northampton.
Managed to weed my remaining border yesterday morning while it was still cool and the border in shade. Trimmed the grass edge as well. Spent a pleasant afternoon at the well-being cafe, where I managed to win the quiz - no prizes though!
Tap and ballet classes today after lunch, then an evening walk followed by a meal at the pub. Sainsburys delivery shortly so must get my skates on.
Hope you are soon sorted Mick; the test will show anything up; I had occasion to do the bowel FIT test earlier this year, and it came back clear.
Take care everyone, and may the sun
shine on us all.
Crossed posts MOMB -I’d still pop over to Melrose while you are up there though!
Good morning all!
That’s Rosie walked and the vet phoned as (poor girl) has pulled her dew claw again, it’s sticking out at right angles and she has been yelping whenever she touches it on anything. Bled a bit too. WAGS will sympathise if any are reading this and have ever lost a nail or a hair extension ! Mustn’t laugh, she’s feeling very poorly. Seeing a vet nurse at 10.40
Now as to MOMB, it depends where you are but I would say either the Peebles or Melrose Common Ridings. If you are near Melrose I hope you are popping in to the Borders Book Festival, they have some excellent speakers lined up for this year.
Now Kalu unfortunately you have touched on “my Borderland” when you said
I think you may be referring to the Hawick Common Riding momb. It’s an event I have enjoyed seeing a few times. Enjoy your restful break
Hawick was 2 weeks ago, Selkirk last week, Peebles and Melrose this week and Galashiels is the end of the month.
I am attaching some pics of the Selkirk Common Riding which I used to ride in as a teenager, fording the river Ettrick, on the way “out” then some wonderful cross country gallops round the boundaries of the town land and an eye-watering canter or gallop back into the town along the A7!
With thoughts for all in pain or with worries, I hope today is kind to you.
It was the Beltane festival in Peebles Kalu and Grammaretto

I am so ? Gingster skate and crab are two of my favourite things.
Impossible to get skate where I live.
Do they not have it on the vans dragonfly?
Lulu ? you and your DH get through covid without too many problems.
Marydoll hope you are ok today?
Gingster I’ve never had Skate so if I buy one I’ll be PM you to ask how to cook it lol.
Baubles take it easy?
Good Morning from the Scottish Borders where it feels like rain approaching.
I wondered that too Kalu but perhaps it was Melrose? The Ridings are all around this time. Ours in Penicuik was the end of May. It is always a spectacle.

I hope you are enjoying your holiday. MOMB
I am hosting a young woman from the Czech Republic who arrived last night and was thrilled to be cool!!
That is a worry Mick but at least your doctors are on the ball and keeping an eye on things.
Great news of Iris gM.
My DGD has finished all her exams and has finished school Harrigran Next stage is 6th form college in the Autumn. I cannot believe how quickly the past 16 years has gone.
Enjoy the moment everyone.

Good morning everyone from a dull, cooler day in Glasgow.
I hope your test results show nothing untoward Mick

Good news about Iris and your DH GM
DH is much more awake this morning and has been busy making breakfast. It feels like our usual normal day at home.
Hope all is well with you Marydoll ?
DD2’s MiL is over from Australia to visit her mother and sisters in Surrey and DD2 and SiL will travel down to see them for a couple of days. GD2 has a cold so no visiting us until she is over it all of which means DH and I will have some time to relax in a much quieter home. ?
Much love and best wishes to all for a good day especially those who are having troubling times.
Good Morning Mick and everyone from cool and cloudy Carlisle. The sun did pop out for an hour or so in the early evening yesterday after I'd been out putting a plant in the garden. I think I can justify a trip to the garden centre at the weekend, there are gaps to fill and now I can judge the size of the plants I need to get.
I hope you soon get some definite answers Mick, it must be a tad worrying for you. Fingers crossed!
Best wishes to you Marydoll, you seem to be taking it extra easy today. I hope you are not very unwell.
My window cleaner is without thankfully, we have had some dirty showers since he last came. And now I am off to do the ironing so will wish you all the best possible day.
Good morning all from a sunny Black country. Late up this morning so will read through later.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating, safe travels for those on the move and virtual hugs where needed.
Take care all and may you all find some ?.
Good morning from a sunny NE ?
Busy day yesterday, SIL and I did grocery shopping and went to the Metro centre to shop for birthday gift for DIL, Harrods has just opened so I was able to find something suitable. The shops were quiet probably because the temperature was in the mid 20s.
Today is GD's last exam and DS and I are picking her up from school at 11.30 and taking her to a restaurant for lunch as a little celebration.
Pleased you are getting some answers Mick, they will sort out you out when they get the test results.
Have a good day all.
Good morning from a wet WKent. I have now tested positive for Covid so Dh and I looking forward to a very quiet day.
Very best wishes to all
Awoke cross after a disturbed night but another lovely day ahead from the look of things. Am helping a friend with a coffee morning raising funds for our local hospice so need to get a move on. Like so many good causes, the hospice has suffered financially in the pandemic and needs all the help it can get.
Yesterday’s piano removal went to plan and our lovely local carpet man came to sort the carpet out before he set off for Glastonbury and the sitting room is much improved. All this took most of the day and was surprisingly tiring but is a good job done. We also discussed putting down new flooring in the hall and sitting room and that looks affordable for the autumn.
Marydoll sounds subdued so hope it is just the heat, and that the gMatties have a drama free day.
Morning all
I hope your GP gets you sorted as soon as possible Mick
A quiet day is a good day grandMattie promising news for Iris.
MaryDoll I hope you are OK?
I am going to hopefully walk to the opticians this morning (if I can dodge the thunder storms) as my glasses seem to have got very loose, every time I bend over or look down they fall off.
Then I shall be writing lists as July is a very busy month and I want to be organised.
Keep safe and well folks ?♀️?
