WELCOME. How pleased I am to be able to say...we have a new gathering place.

soop Mon 04-Jul-22 17:19:35

Blossoming I am totally understanding of your need to know the facts. It is right that you asked the appropriate questions. Relax and keep thinking positive thoughts.

Yia It is so distressing for you and your husband to have to deal with your brother-in-laws awful, life-threatening situation. You have my VERY best wishes for news that is more positive.

Ladyleftfieldlover How awful for you to have fainting fits. Is it low blood pressure? What does your GP advise?

Nortyneine I know all about lurking dust balls. There will be an entire colony lurking under my furniture by the time Wimbledon fortnight is over.
MrS and I like Dunster. We have visited in the long ago.
Carrot cake is also one of my most liked cakes. Thank you.

SueD Your daughter would be heartbroken if you missed her graduation. I agree that your Mum would wish you to enjoy the celebration.

Kyrgios (my least favourite tennis player) has won his match. I am slightly peeved. It means that I shall need to watch his next game and listen to his ongoing moans and groans.

I have much catching up to do. Please forgive me for not being fully updated. I shall return tomorrow. In the meantime, TOYA. smile moon

Hi all, now reassured Blossoming you can focus on your celebration in a few days, a lovely target.
Your brother in law will need every ounce of support Yia I’m pleased his family will provide, a harsh situation for him.
Naughtyneine you mean I’m supposed to look under furniture? Goodness, I might pretend I didn’t hear that!
soop you need to come to the Jax school of ironing ‘if it’s dried straight, body heat removes creases’ MrJ does all his ironing, I sneak in the odd item.
Once housework (no looking under) was completed this morning and as MrJ was home, this afternoon was flipping between tennis/cricket.
He’s now cooking his signature dish, the one and only; chicken sausages, mash and beans.
Enjoy your evening all x

ShazzaKanazza Mon 04-Jul-22 19:40:39

Good evening lovely Kitcheners. It’s been a very breezy day here today but washing all dried.
I like the sound of the carrot cake I’ll be along for some of that. Yum!

SueDonim the funeral must have been truly heartbreaking.
You must be so proud of your DD. Sorry to hear of your mums fall and the difficult choice you had to make.

Ladyleftfieldlover I’m sorry you fainted our posts overlapped yesterday. It must be scary to regularly faint. I fainted when I was pregnant with both my boys and that was scary enough!

Muse I can’t believe how much rents are down south. St Albans is beautiful though. In Hull rents are mostly much more affordable. My daughter had a little cottage type terrace house in Romford and she rented it out for 1,250 a month, she sold it two years ago can’t imagine what it would be now especially with the Crossrail close by.

Yiayia thank goodness your BIL has a loving family surrounding him.

Blossoming you be a drama queen all you want you have every reason too.

Have a good evening everyone hopefully without too many dramas ?
TOYA
? for you all x

ShazzaKanazza Mon 04-Jul-22 20:17:06

? to Urmstongran we miss you. Come back soon?

Dogsmakemesmile Mon 04-Jul-22 20:47:23

Yia my thoughts are with you and BIL's family.
Just dashing in after a long day at work. DH getting a bit of peace from me as he booked this as annual leave and I will be working most of the week. Must remember to communicate better!
Weather rather wobbly here. Cool and windy like October . One of my colleagues said she had seen a long term weather forecast for Scotland and there was little heat or sunshine coming. I personally prefer cool weather but I do appreciate that many people will be very disappointed if that is an accurate forecast.
My best wishes to all

I’m zorsted! Just time for a quick update. My DD’s graduation was lovely, we enjoyed it a lot and yes, felt very proud of her hard work. She bumped into some former student friends, too, so that was lovely.

I am back from visiting my mum in hospital - 140 mile round trip. She was sitting up in bed, looking very cheery and declaring she didn’t know why she was there because she wasn’t ill, just had a twisted knee. ?‍?. I’m not sure I’m ever going to be able to disentangle the back story but the good news is that there are no broken bones. She needs treatment for fluid retention (hasn’t been taking her ‘water’ tablets), pain relief for the arthritis and physio to get her mobile again. She’ll also be assessed by occupational health in order for her to stay in her own home. She happily informed me that she’d be able to manage at home, despite currently not being able to get out of bed. Honestly, so stubborn!

The ward was full of elderly people and I think my mum was the only one that didn’t have dementia. It was so sad to see though the staff are so kind and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them.

I’m reading your posts and sending appropriate thoughts to you all, in your troubles and your pleasures. TOYA. XX

Morning all, a quick visit.
It’s a year ago our granddaughter Imogen had her seizure, some may remember. Well, so far as we know, that was the only one, she’s fine, doing well at school and a delight.
Everyone was so very supportive at a time we were all in shock, I won’t forget that, thank you.

Grandmabatty Tue 05-Jul-22 08:53:43

JaxJacky I do remember. It's already a year! I'm so glad that Imogen is doing well. Off out for coffee soon.

Nannytopsy Tue 05-Jul-22 09:13:57

SueD I am so glad you managed both the graduation and then to see your mum. Mine was of the ‘I can manage by myself ‘ mindset too! Eventually they get the idea that help may be needed!

Yiayia4 Tue 05-Jul-22 09:38:26

So pleased your Gd is doing well Jax ?

hulahoop Tue 05-Jul-22 09:50:32

That's good to hear Jax .I may do some baking later I will leave some for you all.

Grandmabatty Tue 05-Jul-22 13:51:27

I've just bought gooseberries so more jam making later. The family are arriving shortly. Be back later.

Aldom Tue 05-Jul-22 14:59:10

Jax it's so good to know that Imogen is doing well. flowersshamrock

Blossoming Tue 05-Jul-22 15:26:17

I was thinking about Imogen earlier Jax! it’s good to know the seizure seems to have been a one off and she’s doing well.

SueDonim Tue 05-Jul-22 16:16:56

Oh good grief, now Dh has got Covid. Stop the world, I wanna get off!

He’s not too bad, a bit of cough and a sore throat. No chance of me avoiding it in a one-bed flat, I don’t think. ?

Bellanonna Tue 05-Jul-22 16:48:10

Fingers crossed for you SueD. If you’ve had all your vaccinations hopefully that will help.

Nannytopsy Tue 05-Jul-22 16:56:01

Oh no SD! All best wishes to you both!

SueDonim Tue 05-Jul-22 17:11:13

We’re both fully vaxxed so hopefully Dh will soon be better and if I get it, I just have a mild case. ?

Grannmarie Tue 05-Jul-22 17:54:29

Great to hear that Imogen is doing so well, Jaxjacky, what a relief for you and all the family.

SueD, so sorry to hear that your DH has Covid now, fingers crossed ? that it is mild and you can avoid it.

I've had a rather lazy day today, sat awhile in the sunny garden with my puzzle magazine, saving my energy for DGS2's childcare day tomorrow. Still too long a day for Papa, so I'll go on my own. Hope the weather keeps up! ?

TOYA, have the best Tuesday evening possible.

ShazzaKanazza Tue 05-Jul-22 18:11:58

Hello dear Kitcheners.
We have the tennis on with Cameron Norrie I would imagine Soop is in her umpire chair glued to the screen.

My son in China has sent videos of a tropical storm of biblical proportions they had today. Flooded roads flooded schoolrooms. His wife had gone to pay a bill and was stranded in an office. It happens a lot where he lives at this time of year. The temps are high 30s.

SueD I’m sorry your DH has covid I really think it’s unavoidable now but hoping you both sail through it with no problems. I’m sure you’ll get it.
Pleased your mum was on quite good form when you got to the hospital.

JaxJ I only joined GN in the new year so I didn’t know about your GD. But it’s fantastic she is doing so well.
I worry about my GS he’s been a head banger for a lot of his 7 and a half years. He did it today at school when the teacher said no to him! I worry it will have a detrimental effect in the future and worry about possible seizures one day. I know there’s no point worrying about something that might not happen but that’s what I’m like. He’s not done it for ages as well!

Cooking a lamb dinner which were leftovers from Sunday so I’d better go.
Speak soon everyone ?x

Grandmabatty Tue 05-Jul-22 18:53:56

Oh Suedonim what rotten luck. I hope your dh has a mild dose and you don't get it. I have been out for coffee with a friend then dd and the boys came round this afternoon. Dgs1 still is complaining of a sore ear so dd is back to the doctor tomorrow. I have made moussaka and it looks amazing so that's dinner sorted for tonight and tomorrow. I managed to get gooseberries at the garden centre so jam making tomorrow too. Have a good evening Kitcheners.

Jaxjacky Tue 05-Jul-22 19:48:48

Oh crumbs SueD timing sucks! Hope one or both of you have it very mildly.
Mr J played golf today, short memory from last Friday when his legs were killing him, I played bowls.
Bad floods in Australia too Shazza let’s hope they’re coping.
Oven fish and chips tonight, must attend.
Have a good evening all x

brook2704 Tue 05-Jul-22 19:52:23

That’s brilliant news Jax I do remember you letting us know last year about Imogen, I’m delighted to hear she’s doing so very well

Jaxjacky Tue 05-Jul-22 19:56:29

I meant your family!

brook2704 Tue 05-Jul-22 20:07:47

Apologies all, Ive got some catching up to do on everyone’s news as last night we were camping and didn’t have any mobile signal or even anywhere to charge my phone .. it was all very basic but good fun just for one night!
Anyway today was our last day of walking as we’re heading home tomorrow. We’ve walked about 10m today to Salcombe which is such a lovely place with some gorgeous views and a yummy cafe just on the beach
My knees have definitely had enough and I’m looking forward to a long soak in a deep bath with bubbles when I get home
