I’m zorsted! Just time for a quick update. My DD’s graduation was lovely, we enjoyed it a lot and yes, felt very proud of her hard work. She bumped into some former student friends, too, so that was lovely.
I am back from visiting my mum in hospital - 140 mile round trip. She was sitting up in bed, looking very cheery and declaring she didn’t know why she was there because she wasn’t ill, just had a twisted knee. ??. I’m not sure I’m ever going to be able to disentangle the back story but the good news is that there are no broken bones. She needs treatment for fluid retention (hasn’t been taking her ‘water’ tablets), pain relief for the arthritis and physio to get her mobile again. She’ll also be assessed by occupational health in order for her to stay in her own home. She happily informed me that she’d be able to manage at home, despite currently not being able to get out of bed. Honestly, so stubborn!
The ward was full of elderly people and I think my mum was the only one that didn’t have dementia. It was so sad to see though the staff are so kind and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them.
I’m reading your posts and sending appropriate thoughts to you all, in your troubles and your pleasures. TOYA. XX
