Very sad news. Even though it was expected it must be dreadful for her family.

Although expected, it’s such terribly sad news.

Such a brave and inspirational young woman.

Urmstongran Tue 28-Jun-22 22:34:44

And she was only 40 with a young family.
My mum, sister & I were devastated when my dad died at just 47 with bowel cancer. Over 40y ago now. It was heartbreaking then and outcomes for some are no better these days. Cancer can be such a cruel disease for the sufferer and the family, anxiously hoping on the sidelines.

Special thoughts tonight for anyone affected by this disease.
It’s a roller coaster.
Fortunately some DO live to tell the tale. I hope it’s your family. xx

Yes indeed. Some toilet roll manufacturers, including Andrex, will now be putting the symptoms of bowel cancer on their packaging because of Deborah.

What an inspirational woman she was and what a legacy she leaves, not just in the funds she raised but in making people more aware of this disease.

RIP Dame Deborah James

So sad. So very important to raise awareness of this cancer. My husband died aged 64 almost 5 years ago.
Thoughts with all those close to her ?

So sad, but what a legacy! She has raised awareness of Bowel Cancer over many years, and in addition raised millions for research.
