I couldn't believe the price of butter yesterday in Morrisons a small tub of Anchor was £2.50 the big one was £4.49 just a few weeks ago the big one was £2.50. Lurpak was £4.75 for the big size! what on earth is going on? Surely milk isn't in short supply or is it the cost of processing that has sky rocketed?
I’ve switched to Aldi, their British butter was £1.75 this week, and their large size Lurpak equivalent was £2.15 I think, quite a bit less than the other supermarkets. I don’t like food shopping, so I’ve never bothered to check prices closely until the last few weeks, but the differences between shops for equivalent items are getting so marked now that it’s really worth shopping around although I find it a pain, you can definitely save lots by doing it.
