My wonderful husband clears away after dinner, however he never does all of it, I can guarantee the dishwasher will be filled with whatever goes in but the pans will be left to soak and the glasses will be sitting on the drip mat.

One day I would to have the whole job done!

Shazmo24 Tue 12-Jul-22 13:30:03

Farting in public...loudly!

Stables Tue 12-Jul-22 13:32:29

Mine seems to have to watch every weather forecast and update me hourly. It seems too difficult to look out the window!!

dalrymple23 Tue 12-Jul-22 13:33:37

Are you sure that mine is not leading a double life? He does EXACTLY the same thing with identical results! Toothpaste drives me insane, as I always end up with the dried up bits!

coast35 Tue 12-Jul-22 13:37:52

Ti Liz mine does that too. Complicated explanations that I have absolutely no interest in!!!

Sassanach512 Tue 12-Jul-22 13:40:58

Leaving a sock nest by the bed where he's taken them off instead of putting them in the laundry bin, then wondering why he's short of clean socks (because I've stopped collecting them on wash day hoping he'll get the message...that's ongoing wink) and putting a new toilet roll on top of the radiator leaving the old one with only a couple of sheets on it. It's only a slip on holder but it seems to be beyond him hmm

Sassanach512 Tue 12-Jul-22 13:46:58

Crikey Shazmo I think you've won the prize for the husband with the most annoying habit shockgrin

MrsKen33 Tue 12-Jul-22 13:48:06

I have just read some of these to DH. He said, and I quote “ Bloody militant lot aren’t they?” Lost for words.

valchoc Tue 12-Jul-22 13:53:44

Annoying habits ?My late husband had several....I'd put up with them if I could just have him back to share our life for longer .

Rosina Tue 12-Jul-22 13:59:46

MrsKen we are kindred spirits. I can track the whereabouts of my OH by the open cupboard doors, open drawers, and trail of posessions strewn everywhere.

Tennisnan Tue 12-Jul-22 14:00:04

Mine sneezes a lot but never puts his hankie or hands to his mouth in time. Consequently there are blobs on the walls and cupboard doors and kitchen windows by the sink. I feel disgusted when I see them and clean them. I tell him about this but he denies its him. Only the two of us live here arrgh!!!

magshard20 Tue 12-Jul-22 14:10:11

Oh how I laughed at most of these replies, are all our OH 's cloned?Because many of the things mentioned happen in our house too.
My real bug bear with OH is if I'm feeling ill, he is always feeling worse!! Even when the problems are women related........ but we've been married for 51 years and together for 4 years before that, so I'm used to his ways, although as he's got older it does rankle me more than it did......

marionk Tue 12-Jul-22 14:17:15

I’ve hung out YOUR washing/done YOUR ironing/done YOUR hoovering etc etc

Coco51 Tue 12-Jul-22 14:26:31

His tidying consists of putting things in boxes ( which may mean kitchen utensils with odd items of clothing DGDs toys and my craft tools in the same box. Then removing said boxes to another room - or even an interim room - so that he can take boxes out of the destination room and put them elsewhere and having no idea where he has put anything. Hovering over me while I am doing something in the kitchen and taking spoons/forks/ knives away before I have finished using them. I have been known to explode “Every day is an effing treasure hunt in this house!”

inishowen Tue 12-Jul-22 14:32:52

He claims not to understand recycling so leaves everything by the back door for me to put in appropriate bins. When putting dirty clothes in laundry basket there is always a sleeve or trouser leg left hanging outside.

icanhandthemback Tue 12-Jul-22 14:38:32

We have two almost separate sides to our kitchen with a fridge on each side. One side is where the cooking is done along with the food ingredients that need cooking. The other side is for making coffee, snacks etc and has all the stuff that doesn't have to be cooked. So why does my husband unpack all the shopping onto one side of the kitchen but doesn't actually put it away? I'd sooner he didn't unpack it at all.

After reading these comments, I’m so glad I live alone!

GrannySneds Tue 12-Jul-22 14:45:06

I will make a suggestion or request detailing my thoughts behind that request and the response I get --"why?". My problem is my four year old GD does exactly the same.

HannahLoisLuke Tue 12-Jul-22 14:45:52

So happy I don’t have a DH to annoy me ?

Sara1954 Tue 12-Jul-22 15:12:36

Then there’s his phone.
For some very unfair reason, Apple have made this one phone which doesn’t carry out instructions correctly.
His Bank will never load, facial recognition doesn’t work, he gets zillions of notifications about Katie Price which drive him crazy, he sends texts to the. wrong people, he’s always yelling for our granddaughter to come and sort it out, she just Just rolls her eyes.
Then the television, he got it stuck permanently on a Welsh channel, he cannot record anything, when I record something for him he can’t play it back
Oh I could go on……..

Mamma66 Tue 12-Jul-22 15:17:34

Witzend

The explosive sneezing, like a bomb going off.
I’ve long given up saying anything.

Apart from that, he’s not a bad old bugger really.

Yes, I have one of these too! smile

Mine also insists on cuddling up to me in bed. Lovely in winter, but in summer - noooh! He’s like a little radiator. He does put up with my many foibles, so I am not complaining and he’s a little sweetheart too, so I think I get off pretty lightly ?

Kryptonite Tue 12-Jul-22 15:35:51

"I hung out your washing." It's everyone's including his.
Talking over TV/radio that I really want to listen to.
Twiddling hair - lifetime habit.
Just about got him trained to put loo seat down, after nearly 40 years.
Strange sneezing routine.
Foghorn nose blowing.
Jiggling feet to lively music on TV.
Otherwise, a very good bloke.

Sara1954 Tue 12-Jul-22 15:36:43

Mamma
You have shamed me.
Yes he’s an annoying git at times, but he’s a good kind man. I could have chosen a lot worse.

seadragon Tue 12-Jul-22 15:56:37

MrsKen33

I can track his progress around the house by the drawers, cupboards, doors etc he leaves open .

Same here... Now terrifying these days as we have DS's doggie - who is an escape artist - while DS is at work through the week.

Greciangirl Tue 12-Jul-22 16:02:01

He never throws any empty bottles away.
Just puts them straight back in the cupboard.

Never closes cupboard doors.

Never screws bottle tops back on properly.

I could go on!,

I feel for you, valchoc. DH was very ill with Covid last month - had to get an ambulance out when his vital signs were all over the place. He is only just beginning to recover now. Suddenly I'm fine with all his foibles...
