My wonderful husband clears away after dinner, however he never does all of it, I can guarantee the dishwasher will be filled with whatever goes in but the pans will be left to soak and the glasses will be sitting on the drip mat.

One day I would to have the whole job done!

Disappearing into his study or the Old Byres[mansheds] in the garden and you have to play hide and seek to find him.

My Mr. Right has a first name. ‘Always’.
I do challenge him though - regularly! ?

ShazzaKanazza Mon 11-Jul-22 09:03:22

My DH will make his half of the bed! What’s that all about.

ExDancer Mon 11-Jul-22 09:13:56

I've often thought of just making my side of the bed.
He cough in serious of two coughs every time he sits down or stands up (even on the loo). Cough cough, sit down, Read paper, stand up, cough cough.

If my husband is watching any sporting activity, lately tennis of course, he regularly up dates me on what's happening even though he knows I couldn't care less. His daughter came over to see us yesterday, and he felt the need to give her chapter and verse during the men's finals, to which she responded with "I don' t care I don't like either of them" Fortunately for him one of sons was also here so they could ooh and aah together whilst daughter and I retired to the garden out of earshot and left them to it !

My DH says he is very good at washing up cleaning etc. He often takes little jobs on when I am out shopping or gardening.

He must do the dishes and toilet cleaning etc without his glasses on. My interpretation of clean and his are miles apart so I go over what he has missed out. I would sooner he just disappears into his man-shed and leaves me too it!

Blowing his nose loudly (think foghorn) every 10 minutes or so.

timetogo2016 Mon 11-Jul-22 10:14:41

Dh never puts lids back on jars/bottles etc properly, the amount of times i end up with a lid/bottle top in my hand and the contents end up on the floor is un-countable.
He leaves taps running too.
I shall stop there as Christmas is due.lol

Currently, it's when he asks me what I want for dinner every night when he's the one on the Slimming World programme and what we have needs to be suitable for him.

Though to be fair, one night I did say I really fancy fish and chips and he went to the chip shop and just bought one portion for me. What a hero ?

YES!!! Why do men do this???

MrsKen33 Mon 11-Jul-22 10:45:58

I can track his progress around the house by the drawers, cupboards, doors etc he leaves open .

Bakingmad0203 Mon 11-Jul-22 11:32:49

Clearing his throat - every few minutes. It’s worse in the mornings, but it’s so loud that it makes me jump. He has Strepsils in the medicine cupboard, but does he take them ? - No!
I’m convinced he does it on purpose just to annoy me?

Oh and when I’ve cleaned and tidied the kitchen in the evening, he puts his yoghurt spoon in the clean washing up bowl and it’s still there the next morning, and we do have a dishwasher ( well 2 of them including me!)
Oops that’s 2 annoying habits not one, as asked for by the OP
I’m sure I have an annoying habit too, but it escapes me?

Witzend Mon 11-Jul-22 11:47:17

The explosive sneezing, like a bomb going off.
I’ve long given up saying anything.

Apart from that, he’s not a bad old bugger really.

I always call DH Mr NOT YET as he always leaves things until the last minute. Well, it turned around and kicked him last December. We set off after 5pm in the freezing cold to go to a christmas market which was 10 miles away. His car broke down. No problem as we are both members of the AA recovery. I phoned them and they said they would be there within half an hour. The whole thing packed up and it was minus 2 and getting colder. After one hour I phoned them back and they said that they couldnt come out as the tax had run out the day before. It’s his car but I kept saying to him to renew the tax and his answer was NOT YET!. So we had to abandon it and go home in a taxi to return the next morning after he had taxed it online. The whole taxing process took about 10 minutes and I was so annoyed. We missed the christmas fair but I had to have a hot bath to warm up. He wont do that again. Hopefully.

Too much explanation. He is a tool maker and insists on explaining all his problems to me - if I use this thread then … or if I do that then… whilst I understand he wants to talk things through to get it straight in his head, why does he also do this to our guests who have no idea what he is talking about. I learned the difference between using two right hand threads and two opposite threads this morning over breakfast (are you keeping up), but please don’t ask me to explain it ?

sodapop Mon 11-Jul-22 12:45:56

Procrastination, my husband ends up with a long list of jobs to do because he doesn't do anything straight away.
I grit my teeth and try not to get too annoyed as he is kind, helpful and very considerate especially when I'm not well.

HillyN Mon 11-Jul-22 13:00:35

Turning on the bedroom TV in the morning when I'm still asleep and at night when I'm trying to get to sleep. Even more annoyingly, at night he usually falls asleep with it still on. I often wake up in the early hours to find the TV playing away and have to work out whether it is time to wake up or to find the remote and turn it off.

Witzend Mon 11-Jul-22 14:20:12

Timetogo2016, mine rams the tops on things so tightly, I often have trouble opening them!

Blossoming Mon 11-Jul-22 14:32:58

Dripping taps. I love him anyway though grin

kittylester Mon 11-Jul-22 14:38:51

Mine doesn't have any as he is perfect - he told me so.

giulia Mon 11-Jul-22 21:06:45

When mine does anything useful around the house, I then get a blow-by-blow account of what exactly he did: "First I did this (HUFF." "Then I did that (PUFF)." "Then I did the other (SIGH)."
"Now I'm too tired to do anything else so I won't be doing the dishes after lunch today!" Grrrrr!

grumppa Mon 11-Jul-22 22:16:47

kittylester's DH sounds just like me.

wetflannel Mon 11-Jul-22 22:20:01

Not putting anything away after he has used it. {angry}

Kate1949 Mon 11-Jul-22 22:25:31

I've done the hoovering . Hang on I'll get your medal.
