My sister and I were kidding each other that neither of us was scared of the dark. To prove it one of us was to shut the other one in our parents' wardrobe - amazingly I persuaded my bossy, louder sister to go in first.
After a few moments she began to tap on the door, "You can let me out now," but could I open the door? The handle had stuck fast. I struggled, then told her to hang on a mo' and I'd get mum - who had gone to the Co-op which was a five minute walk away.
When mum returned I told her that my sister was stuck in the wardrobe. "What on earth is she doing in there" was her obvious response. We got her out and then she tried to get me to go in. Not on your Nellie! It was one of the few times I'd ever got my own back on her. Bossy cow.
