Good Morning Everyone,
Despite cloud its looking like another warm day here in brackley .
I have had a bad evening maybe the heat etc , with a bout of Diarrhoea, anyway have started to clean up this morning .
I am finding the airless situation with little breeze blowing very uncomfortable , I have lived in Oman where the accommodation had air conditioning , if it continues like this air conditioners should be part of buildings, houses , flats etc .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning Mick and all from a sunny northwest coast.
You could do with a fan in the flat Mick, sit next to it and feel cooler. I have a revolving fan, but not using it (yet) as this weather suits me and it’s not too hot here on the coast.
Enjoyed singing yesterday and the homemade melt in the mouth drizzle cake, yummy. Then did a ‘big’ shop, first time in a while, was scraping the barrel, oh I hate big supermarkets and avoid them most of the time. Newly married, a friend remarked “Oh you’re very continental aren’t you?” as I shopped a little a day.
Off to lunchtime piano recital given by long standing colleague and will take the bus, no parking probs.
Thoughts to all with troubles and will read through later.

Good Morning Mick and everyone from Hull. I’m sitting in the hairdressers with colour on my hair. Sorry you’ve not felt well Mick.

NannyJan happy 18th to your GD?
Gingster enjoy Matilda another proud Grandma moment

Kalu so sorry your husband has horrible shingles on top of everything.
Urms I did laugh at Matt we’d just discussed this in the hairdressers everyone’s sleeping struggles?
When we had our GD at the weekend it’s Grandma play with me or Grandad play with me. Whereas GS solitary little love just does his own thing most of the time.
But they are a tonic. Enjoy Dollie Marydoll it’s wonderful she makes you feel better. ?

Grandmadinosaur you must be excited for your concert it will be a fantastic atmosphere in the evening in the open. My daughter performed a lot at an open air theatre in Leicester and it was fantastic. Everyone took blankets for later as it got cool. Great atmosphere though.

Hope everyone enjoys their day and virtual hugs to those with worries and illness. Right must go she’s ready to wash off my colour. ??

Good morning Mick and all. It’s cloudy in my corner of Lancashire, with a few patches of blue sky. Currently 18°C and feeling hot and humid despite the lower temperature.

I hope you’re feeling better this morning Mick, many folks suffer in this kind of weather. I love the heat so I’m generally OK. Blood pressure check this morning. I’m keeping well hydrated, I got through 3 litres of water yesterday.

GrandMattie you’re right, it’s definitely ‘beever’! Sounds like you had an enjoyable day.

EkwaNimitee your post brought back a reminder of my sister and I in summer sat on the back doorstep shelling a sackful of peas from the garden. We thought it was fun then grin We used to feed some of the empty pods to the pet rabbits and guinea pigs. My sister liked to eat them raw!

Hope all our poorly grans are on the mend. Enjoy the day everyone ??

Kalu Wed 13-Jul-22 09:32:34

Good morning all from a pleasantly sunny Glasgow. I’m afraid I can no longer bear the very high temperatures those of you are experiencing further south.

A late start as I had a much longer well rested sleep so I intend to have a lazier day pottering in the garden after I collect another script for DH who now has shingles on top of everything else. Poor man, I am hoping it is only a mild dose.

Having Dollie with you is one of the best medicines Marydoll
Lovely to hear you are getting out and about a bit more and had a catchup with another Gnetter Baubles

Best wishes to all for a good day if possible.

harrigran Wed 13-Jul-22 09:13:28

Good morning from a sunny Northumberland ?
Had a trip on a narrow gauge railway and cream tea in a lovely garden. On the way back we went to view the Lady Waterford gallery.
Slept well again as the very thick walls keep the house cool.
Haven't decided what we are doing today, rest of family are just starting to surface.

EkwaNimitee Wed 13-Jul-22 09:05:14

Good morning Mick and everyone from mostly sunny Carlisle where there is a pleasant cooling breeze. Need to keep the blinds down on the sunny side though or the house will heat up and be stuffy.
I hope you are better today Mick. Rest up.

I'm planning a housework morning...at a gentle pace, I don't want to overheat! I think that's probably just an excuse to sit and read my book though. I might go for a stroll in the park after lunch, there are plenty of trees to stay under.
Yesterday I had a pea picking session. I should have staggered the sowing of them, there were a lot to pick. I sat outside and shelled them then had the problem of fitting them in my little freezer which is now rammed. I shall probably get another to go in the garage as a backup but after my holidays. Another thread reminded me of returning from holiday to find a power cut had shut down the freezer, which fortunately only had veggies and fruit in it.
I do love to see the sun but I'm glad I won't be down south this coming weekend. I've got a narrow range of happy operating temperatures so sympathise with any of you suffering the heat.

luluaugust Wed 13-Jul-22 09:02:21

Good morning all fro a cloudy 25 degree W Kent.
My brother has just had a day out to Belvoir Castle and thoroughly enjoyed himself.
Off for a cuppa with good friend this morning. We haven't been able to do ur usual meet up lately with family events and Covid so really looking forward to a good chat. DH not keen to go out in the heat.
It is interesting how GC can help with aches and pains, having my two grown up GC here last week certainly helped my arthritis, I think!
Marydoll I hope the trial may be a way forward for you, I did one sometime ago now and was amazed at all the extra care I received alongside the actual tablet trial.
Very best wishes to all

Good morning from another bright and sunny morning in Northampton, set to be hot again today. Luckily it was overcast and cooler for our walk yesterday, but we were glad to get into the air-conditioned cafe afterwards. We were glad of our air-conditioned house when we lived in Australia! We had no air-conditioning when we lived in Singapore or Cyprus though, and could have done with it, especially Cyprus, as I was pregnant all through one of the long hot summers!

I shall be spending the afternoon in the cool of the cinema, as I have a ticket for the new Emma Thompson film, which I understand is a bit racy! Shall enjoy a chilled glass of rose.

Some friends of ours lived close to us in a Belvoir Close, and we always knew it as Beever.

Wishes to all for a pleasant day, and may we all find some shade.

dustyangel Wed 13-Jul-22 08:44:29

Good morning everyone from a blue skied Algarve. It feels fresher this morning thank goodness. The last couple of days have had the complete cloud cover that Mick describes. Yesterday’s strong winds seem to have got rid of that and for the time being it feels lovely and fresh.

Not planning on much at all today so that DD and family can have the car for the day. One car and six bodies doesn’t really work out. I think if they all come out together next year we are all prepared to contribute to an extra car so that the costs don’t fall on one family.

Wishing as good a day as possible for you all.

GranEd Wed 13-Jul-22 08:40:37

Good morning all from a pleasantly warm and breezy East Cleveland.
Same here NanKate , DH discarded his vest yesterday as well ….
and spent the rest of the day wondering if he’d done the right thing! I think he feels undressed without it. ??
(He still wore his jacket when we went out!)
Hope everyone has the best day possible.

Greyduster Wed 13-Jul-22 08:29:10

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny South Yorkshire. Mick, I’m sorry you are feeling poorly. As has been said, lots of fluids today and rest. It rained here briefly yesterday and it was certainly cooler because of the cloud cover. Even the plants had their heads up for a bit. I am off into town with DD today to some shopping for my holiday. Why, in this heat? Who knows. Midsummer madness!
Have the best day you can folks!

Grandmabatty Wed 13-Jul-22 08:23:32

Good morning all from Polmont where it's much cooler than yesterday at 13° and is now quite cloudy. Mick I hope you are feeling better today. Marydoll fingers crossed for your medical trial. Grandmadinosaur enjoy your trip and Gingster enjoy your trip to see your granddaughter. How proud you must be. Ashcombe that is good that you have a nice, quiet neighbour. The house directly opposite me has been sold so I'm waiting to see who moves in.
Yesterday was a day spent with a three year old charmer. We had such fun. Today I will visit mum as usual then I'm going to see my aunt and uncle who lost their dog last week. My uncle in particular is struggling as his dog was everything to him. Then, this afternoon, I'm washing down my front door with sugar soap and sanding it in preparation for painting tomorrow. That's the extent of my labours today. Whatever you do, I hope you have a good day.

baubles Wed 13-Jul-22 08:20:51

Good morning all from sunny South Lanarkshire.

I hope you feel better soon Mick. You too Marydoll, enjoy having Dollie.

Mattie I discovered the pronunciation of Belvoir very recently as a friend is moving to live near there.

A lovely day yesterday with another Lanarkshire Gran, even although the sun was MIA.

Lunch out today with DH’s siblings and other halfs, always nice to catch up.

Have the best day possible everyone. ??

monk08 Wed 13-Jul-22 08:18:58

Good morning all from a cloudy Black country. Slept well last night to well need to get a rush on its mum's and toddlers, so will catch up with everybody's happenings later.
DH had a phone call from the fishery yesterday cancelling his fishing contest for Sunday due to the heat, so my planned empty for Sunday is also cancelled.?
Enjoy your day everyone and may you all find some ?.

Pittcity Wed 13-Jul-22 08:14:28

Good morning from sunny Colchester. We had rain and heat yesterday which was quite unpleasant. The sky is clear at present and, although it is already 20°, it feels fresher.
Slapping on the suncream for the Wednesday morning coffee meetup where we'll probably sit on the cafe terrace.
I am clearing rooms this afternoon as we are having new carpets tomorrow.
Love to all ? x

Jaxjacky Wed 13-Jul-22 08:13:39

Mick might I suggest a covid test, diarrhoea can be one of the symptoms with this latest variant.

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 13-Jul-22 08:11:56

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a bright Oxfordshire a nice cool breeze at the moment and we had a heavy shower yesterday afternoon so it feels a bit fresher.
Hairdresser today and then our 4th Bathroom Designer/fitter is due today, the other 3 came and never returned, some due to Covid Lockdown, however, this one looks like a keeper, we shall see.
An easy day today then it all ramps up tomorrow when the shopping arrives for the birthday party on Saturday, there will be lots of cooking involves!
I’m not used to catering and accommodating the hoards even if they are (mostly) all relatives.

Anyway, hope everyone finds a shady nook to sit in today.

Marydoll get well soon, Dolly certainly is a tonic.

LLFL ?????? of course pets have birthdays!

NanKate Wed 13-Jul-22 08:09:05

Marydoll isn’t your Dollie a tonic? You have such a wonderful relationship with her, you deserve it. Please make an extra pancake for me. ?

NanKate Wed 13-Jul-22 08:04:08

Morning Mick and All.

Blistering heat due in South Bucks. I can tell it’s hot DH has abandoned his vest ?

Have fun at the Birthday celebrations NannyJ.

I wish I could come to the William Morris exhibition Maw.

Marydoll Wed 13-Jul-22 07:59:14

Morning all from a partly sunny Glasgow, where we have no heat to complain about. Its quite pleasant.

At the moment I have an extremely chatty six year old, lying beside me. Dollie ended up staying overnight, what a tonic! The upside of DD and SIL here, they were in charge, while I supervised and enjoyed Dollie's company.
I woke up during the night, with pain, to find a tiny hand, holding mine. ? She has certainly helped forget my aches and pains.

Yesterday, I received a letter from the cardiologist I saw a few
months ago, regarding the research into my heart condition. At the moment, there is no medication, specifically targeted at my condition, many women have died from it, as it often goes undiagnosed.
A new medication has been developed and 365 patients from all over the UK, have been invited to take part in an extensive trial.
I am up for it, but DH, as always is reluctant. Its quite complicated, but very interesting, involving lots of monitoring.
However, I may fall at the first hurdle, due to these serious abdominal problems.
The timing is all wrong. sad

We have the plumber unexpectedly coming today to replace a shower, which couldn't be repaired. The difficult part, is trying to match it to the existing holes, or we will need a tiler. He has been so efficient and reliable.
DH and I have recently been doing that thing, where we have said, Well we really don't need a twenty five year guarantee, do we?, when replacing things. ?

Wishing you all the best of days and hope the chemo went well.
?
I'm off to make pancakes, a special request from Dollie. I really want to stay in bed but the plumber will be here in twenty minutes!!

cornergran Wed 13-Jul-22 07:48:28

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy, bright corner of Somerset.

Slept like a log. Grocery delivery, dust removal and a lunch time hair cut for me so best get a wriggle on. Mr C wondered if he’d tag along at lunch time and we could go on and have a picnic lunch by the beach. Indeed we could. Just hope my hair won’t scare people, I invariably come home to ‘sort it’. A hat will do smile.

Lots of fluids mick and take it easy today. Wish the hot weather had the same effect on me nannyjan, a need to step away from the ice cream.

Take care everyone. Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

kittylester Wed 13-Jul-22 07:42:36

Good morning all from a warm but not so sticky North Leicestershire.

Today is a forward planning and admin day. Expect lots of lists!!

Urmstongran Wed 13-Jul-22 07:41:04

Here’s Matt! ?

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s not sunny. It’s pleasantly warm but not humid so that’s much better. I slept well.

We’re taking my stepfather to the M&S food hall near him this morning, then he’s off to watch a bowls match at his club. We will just return home as we have no other plans. Actually I’m glad as yesterday was full on, minding the grandchildren. Enjoyable certainly, but little respite from ‘will you play with me grandma?”
?
“ ‘Course I will!”

NannyJan53 Wed 13-Jul-22 07:20:44

Good morning from a slightly cooler and cloudy Black Country.

A lovely lunch with a group of friends yesterday, outdoors at a cafe under cover. It was cloudy but quite hot and close.

My eldest DGD is 18 today, an adult. We are all going over to DS's this evening for a family meal as DGD is going on holiday with friends tomorrow. Her first without parents. She is now awaiting her A Level results, hoping to go to University,

Bonus of this hot weather, I am not eating so much and have lost 7lbs!

Hope the day is kind to everyone

Gingster Wed 13-Jul-22 07:20:37

Good morning all and I’ve been up since 5 and will walk little pooch before the heat catches up with us. It’s overcast here in Essex.
Eldest Gd is home from Uni and together we will catch the trains to my DS1 In Herts. 10 yr old gd is playing the part of Matilda In her school production which were all looking forward to.
We’ll stay over and return tomorrow .

Dh is staying home with the dog . I don’t think he minds and he’ll enjoy his ‘empty’ . He’s off fishing today. A solitary soul! Not like me!

Wishing all poorlies well and take care in the heat. ?
