Good Morning Everyone,
Despite cloud its looking like another warm day here in brackley .
I have had a bad evening maybe the heat etc , with a bout of Diarrhoea, anyway have started to clean up this morning .
I am finding the airless situation with little breeze blowing very uncomfortable , I have lived in Oman where the accommodation had air conditioning , if it continues like this air conditioners should be part of buildings, houses , flats etc .
Take Care,
Mick

Jaxjacky Wed 13-Jul-22 06:12:04

Morning Mick and all, hope you feel better Mick.
Cloudy here and close in S Hants.
Pictures of when the TDF started a stage from our village 5 years ago in the Dordogne.
Not much on today, usual watering.
Have your best day all ??

Jaxjacky Wed 13-Jul-22 06:12:46

Another.

grandMattie Wed 13-Jul-22 06:20:53

Good morning from a grey E Kent. How I wish it would rain, any amount of rain…
It is already a murderous 25C here. I don’t know how I’ll cope with the top temperatures today. I hate this heat!
Had a surprise haircut yesterday afternoon! I called for an appointment and she had a gap.
I really enjoyed my tai chi class and the chat afterwards. We had an amusing discussion about the pronunciation of “Belvoir”, no one believed me when I said it was “beever “! (I could hear them thinking”what does she know, she’s foreign) but of course I was right.
Have the best day possible. Carpe diem. ?????

MawtheMerrier Wed 13-Jul-22 06:25:27

Good morning all, sorry to hear the heat is getting to you Mick I hope you cope better today.
Yes it is a bit more overcast today and we actually got a very few half-hearted spots of rain yesterday evening on our way home from the Town Hall round the corner, fortunately not far. The children were having a wonderful time running in and out of jets of water coming up in the square, with coloured lights and music. I haven’t done a very good job of describing it, so here’s a pic to give you an idea. D is thinking of taking littlest fella to his last baby class of the year this morning so I might wander along to the William Morris house and have a look at the exhibition they have on there.
With gentle thoughts to all who may be poorly or have worries, my good wishes for a pleasant day ?

Ashcombe Wed 13-Jul-22 06:27:25

Good morning, all from a warm and sunny Torbay.

Nice one, grandMattie, re. Belvoir! I’m with you regarding heat. I’m glad I’m not with DH currently as la Sarthe is experiencing very hot temperatures with up to 36 degrees expected today! He had a good journey back to his home yesterday where all was well, including the cats.

Jaxjacky: I have happy memories of caravanning holidays in the Dordogne, especially a Eurocamp site at Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, run by a Dutch family.

A new neighbour has taken on the flat below mine, previously occupied by a dear chap who died at Easter. I’m pleased to say his successor is an equally pleasant chap and quiet!

Happy hump day and well wishes for those who are suffering. Keep cool! ?????

BlueBalou Wed 13-Jul-22 06:30:11

Good morning everyone, it’s a muggy start here. I too am struggling with this heat and the thought of it increasing isn’t something I’m looking forward to ☹️
Nothing planned for today other than a bit of gardening in a minute whilst I can, everything’s so overgrown.
Luckily the house isn’t too bad with windows open, curtains closed on the sunny side and the fan on.
I hope you all manage to get through the day comfortably x

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 13-Jul-22 06:40:06

Morning all from a slightly muggy West Oxfordshire. It was so good to sleep right through last night! GM - I know all about Belvoir! My father’s parents met there. My grandfather was an 18 year old Stud Groom and 20 year old grandmother worked in the Sewing Room. You can guess the rest. I have quite a lot to do today. WI admin, ice cream to make, maybe a cake or two, laundry, paint decisions (two more samples arrived when I was in Vienna) and maybe dinner out tonight at a local restaurant which may be closing this month. ???for lots of you.

Ladyleftfieldlover Wed 13-Jul-22 06:42:53

Just to add - do people celebrate their cats birthdays!? Milo and Ripley are 12 today, which is 64 in human years. They will have a special dinner.

Grandmadinosaur Wed 13-Jul-22 06:53:18

Good morning from East Yorkshire. It is cloudy with sun trying to break through.

Today I have an appointment to collect my new glasses. Tomorrow we are going on a short break to the Netherlands so I have to pack and decide what to take. We are attending an outdoor concert so that is causing me a headache? Don’t want to be too hot but it may be chilly later in the evening mmm decisions! Despite that I’m very excited about it. The temperatures there are 24 on Thursday and 22 on Friday so a bit more manageable than at home.

Take care everyone.

dragonfly46 Wed 13-Jul-22 07:01:15

Good morning from sunny Leicestershire.

Managed a face to face with the GP yesterday who was very reassuring.
Nothing much today except Ocado, Nespresso and a bottle tree plant delivery! So reading under the tree it will be.

Jaxjacky we spent many holidays camping on the bank of the Dordogne in Argentat!

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

brook2704 Wed 13-Jul-22 07:03:33

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s warm and sunny. It’s nowhere near as hot as elsewhere in the uk but it’s fine for me
I’ll be happy pottering in the garden most of the day, there’s always lots to do.
Hope everyone manages ok in the heat and take care all whatever the day brings ?

Grammaretto Wed 13-Jul-22 07:04:31

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is pleasantly cool sorry
I am taking DMiL out to lunch at the coast but before that I must make up a bed for a French helper who is escaping the heat.
Great idea Maw to cool and amuse the children. I enjoyed the Nottingham beach with my DGC when they were younger.

Well well Ladyleftfieldlover quite a story!
Hoping everyone has a good day and can keep comfortable.

MawtheMerrier Wed 13-Jul-22 07:06:54

Grandmadinosaur - my recommendation for your outdoor concert is a lightweight cashmere wrap (of which I have too many) from a company in Shrewsbury called Turtle Doves. Have a look online. They pack down into next to nothing and are wonderfully snuggly but light.
No I am not on a commission, but I believe they do have some good reductions at the moment. Apologies to your bank account f you become an addict like me! ??

Grandmadinosaur Wed 13-Jul-22 07:16:25

That’s a good tip * Maw* thank you. I’ll check it out for next time. I do have a wrap hanging around somewhere not cashmere but possibly more glamorous than than the warm but dressy poncho I was thinking of.

By the way I forgot to ask did anyone see the full and very bright moon last night? I thought of you GM it was wonderful.

Ali23 Wed 13-Jul-22 07:19:05

Good morning Mick and everyone.
A slightly better night last night, once the dog settled down. The heat has been just too much for her this time.
I went out with my neighbour yesterday afternoon... spent an hour in an air conditioned John Lewis cafe, so I see where you’re coming from there Mick.
We’ve put the gazebo up on our patio, so we’ve got a bit of shade to escape into when in the garden.

Have a good day everyone.

Gingster Wed 13-Jul-22 07:20:37

Good morning all and I’ve been up since 5 and will walk little pooch before the heat catches up with us. It’s overcast here in Essex.
Eldest Gd is home from Uni and together we will catch the trains to my DS1 In Herts. 10 yr old gd is playing the part of Matilda In her school production which were all looking forward to.
We’ll stay over and return tomorrow .

Dh is staying home with the dog . I don’t think he minds and he’ll enjoy his ‘empty’ . He’s off fishing today. A solitary soul! Not like me!

Wishing all poorlies well and take care in the heat. ?

NannyJan53 Wed 13-Jul-22 07:20:44

Good morning from a slightly cooler and cloudy Black Country.

A lovely lunch with a group of friends yesterday, outdoors at a cafe under cover. It was cloudy but quite hot and close.

My eldest DGD is 18 today, an adult. We are all going over to DS's this evening for a family meal as DGD is going on holiday with friends tomorrow. Her first without parents. She is now awaiting her A Level results, hoping to go to University,

Bonus of this hot weather, I am not eating so much and have lost 7lbs!

Hope the day is kind to everyone

Urmstongran Wed 13-Jul-22 07:41:04

Here’s Matt! ?

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s not sunny. It’s pleasantly warm but not humid so that’s much better. I slept well.

We’re taking my stepfather to the M&S food hall near him this morning, then he’s off to watch a bowls match at his club. We will just return home as we have no other plans. Actually I’m glad as yesterday was full on, minding the grandchildren. Enjoyable certainly, but little respite from ‘will you play with me grandma?”
?
“ ‘Course I will!”

kittylester Wed 13-Jul-22 07:42:36

Good morning all from a warm but not so sticky North Leicestershire.

Today is a forward planning and admin day. Expect lots of lists!!

cornergran Wed 13-Jul-22 07:48:28

Morning Mick, morning All from a cloudy, bright corner of Somerset.

Slept like a log. Grocery delivery, dust removal and a lunch time hair cut for me so best get a wriggle on. Mr C wondered if he’d tag along at lunch time and we could go on and have a picnic lunch by the beach. Indeed we could. Just hope my hair won’t scare people, I invariably come home to ‘sort it’. A hat will do smile.

Lots of fluids mick and take it easy today. Wish the hot weather had the same effect on me nannyjan, a need to step away from the ice cream.

Take care everyone. Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

Marydoll Wed 13-Jul-22 07:59:14

Morning all from a partly sunny Glasgow, where we have no heat to complain about. Its quite pleasant.

At the moment I have an extremely chatty six year old, lying beside me. Dollie ended up staying overnight, what a tonic! The upside of DD and SIL here, they were in charge, while I supervised and enjoyed Dollie's company.
I woke up during the night, with pain, to find a tiny hand, holding mine. ? She has certainly helped forget my aches and pains.

Yesterday, I received a letter from the cardiologist I saw a few
months ago, regarding the research into my heart condition. At the moment, there is no medication, specifically targeted at my condition, many women have died from it, as it often goes undiagnosed.
A new medication has been developed and 365 patients from all over the UK, have been invited to take part in an extensive trial.
I am up for it, but DH, as always is reluctant. Its quite complicated, but very interesting, involving lots of monitoring.
However, I may fall at the first hurdle, due to these serious abdominal problems.
The timing is all wrong. sad

We have the plumber unexpectedly coming today to replace a shower, which couldn't be repaired. The difficult part, is trying to match it to the existing holes, or we will need a tiler. He has been so efficient and reliable.
DH and I have recently been doing that thing, where we have said, Well we really don't need a twenty five year guarantee, do we?, when replacing things. ?

Wishing you all the best of days and hope the chemo went well.
?
I'm off to make pancakes, a special request from Dollie. I really want to stay in bed but the plumber will be here in twenty minutes!!

NanKate Wed 13-Jul-22 08:04:08

Morning Mick and All.

Blistering heat due in South Bucks. I can tell it’s hot DH has abandoned his vest ?

Have fun at the Birthday celebrations NannyJ.

I wish I could come to the William Morris exhibition Maw.

NanKate Wed 13-Jul-22 08:09:05

Marydoll isn’t your Dollie a tonic? You have such a wonderful relationship with her, you deserve it. Please make an extra pancake for me. ?

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 13-Jul-22 08:11:56

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a bright Oxfordshire a nice cool breeze at the moment and we had a heavy shower yesterday afternoon so it feels a bit fresher.
Hairdresser today and then our 4th Bathroom Designer/fitter is due today, the other 3 came and never returned, some due to Covid Lockdown, however, this one looks like a keeper, we shall see.
An easy day today then it all ramps up tomorrow when the shopping arrives for the birthday party on Saturday, there will be lots of cooking involves!
I’m not used to catering and accommodating the hoards even if they are (mostly) all relatives.

Anyway, hope everyone finds a shady nook to sit in today.

Marydoll get well soon, Dolly certainly is a tonic.

LLFL ?????? of course pets have birthdays!
