What is your most annoying habit?

Following on from the thread about your partner’s most annoying habit, confess your own.

I think mine is that I will always put the opposing point of view even if I don’t agree with it.

I have an opinion on everything, apparently!

BlueBelle

Too quick and slapdash
Always defend people ( even if they don’t deserve it)
Am too optimistic
And jiggle my legs

I too jiggle my legs constantly. I always look for silver linings, when sometimes there aren't any. Always think I know better than DH (but then I invariably do haha) and I get overly aerated by all the politicians I loathe... very over-aerated constantly at the moment with them all lining up being so insincere and moronic each day grin

MrsKen33 Sat 16-Jul-22 14:50:36

Impatience, so my DH and DD say.

Kate1949 Sat 16-Jul-22 14:48:51

No I haven't. Oh erm I mean thank you. grin

MissAdventure Sat 16-Jul-22 14:46:49

It's such a shame though, isn't it?
Take this one - you have a lovely dry, gentle sense of humour. So there!!

Kate1949 Sat 16-Jul-22 14:44:40

It's ridiculous MissA but I've never been able to take a compliment.

MissAdventure Sat 16-Jul-22 14:41:47

smile
Sorry Kate.
I'm not laughing at you.
I'm a bit the same, I suppose, that's why i had to smile.

Kate1949 Sat 16-Jul-22 14:38:20

Many more are springing to mind. If my husband tells me I look nice, my reply is usually 'Don't be ridiculous'. Poor man.
If anyone says 'Your hair looks nice'. I reply 'It's not my real hair'.
Or
'I like your dress'. I say 'Oh this was cheap from Primark'

He didn’t actually say I didn’t have any annoying habits though. hmm

Maggiemaybe Sat 16-Jul-22 14:27:15

Annoying habits? How very dare you? Like Mary Poppins, I am practically perfect in every way.

I’ve just asked DH and he refuses to answer - he says he’s not going to fall for that one…. grin

grandtanteJE65 Sat 16-Jul-22 14:24:34

Being in such a hurry to contribute to the conversation (read: express my own opinion) that I tend to interrupt people.

This bad habit became much worse, during and after lockdown, when for weeks at a time I only had DH and the cat to talk to.

The cat rarely interrupted me - usually only at feeding time, and DH interrupts constantly (so it is his fault I started doing so too, to get a word in edgeways, but being a teacher probably did not help either.)

I can be quite negative and think I'm ugly.

Lucca Sat 16-Jul-22 14:20:27

Doing myself down. I’m noted for it. It’s called doing a Lucca.

I’m also very sarcastic.

Millie22 Sat 16-Jul-22 14:13:07

None

I had a think and there just aren't any ??

Mine Sat 16-Jul-22 14:10:59

I get a song stuck in my head and keep singing it over and over...Gets on my hubby's wickwink

MissAdventure Sat 16-Jul-22 14:07:46

I'm a whistler.
I really enjoy doing all the twiddly, warbly bits. grin

Honeysuckleberries Sat 16-Jul-22 14:05:53

As a widow I have no one else to annoy but I do annoy myself intensely by recording a programme and then suffering through the adverts. I never remember that I can fast forward through them until they’ve nearly finished, every single blooming time.

polly123 Sat 16-Jul-22 14:05:32

Missingmoominmama

Procrastination, untidiness, and an intolerance of certain noises (I can’t be around someone whistling).

I could have written this!

Secretsquirrel1 Sat 16-Jul-22 13:58:29

I seem to have a really unfortunate ability to accidentally make people to tell me things that they haven’t told anyone else. It happens all the time.

Then after people have spilled their deepest darkest secrets / thoughts/ confessions etc often looked shocked thst they’ve done it.
Homely it’s like I inadvertently hypnotise them.
I can’t even imagine how annoying that must be for people.

Kate1949 Sat 16-Jul-22 13:56:57

I have a 'poor me' attitude - feeling sorry for myself blush

Happysexagenarian Sat 16-Jul-22 13:50:34

Just asked my husband. He said I don't have any annoying habits. He's a lovely man - and a very careful one!

My children would say it's never answering my phone. They ask why I have one, but I don't walk around with it in my hand or pocket as they do.

I would say my annoying habits are .....
Indecisiveness - I can take ages to choose between things when I'm shopping.

Procrastination - I dither and hesitate about doing some things.

Being unpunctual - no excuses really blush

Starting conversations with my husband when he's engrossed in a book.

Turning over in bed and taking the quilt with me, or snuggling up to DH who gets too warm and moves and ends up clinging to 6 inches of mattress!

MeowWow Sat 16-Jul-22 13:33:17

I’m forever leaving the top corner cupboard door open in the kitchen. Fortunately no one can bang their head or walk into it.

Purplepixie Sat 16-Jul-22 13:12:27

I said YES at the alter! That’s my most annoying habit cos I did it 3 times!!!!!!!! Still never learned my lesson.

Madashell Sat 16-Jul-22 13:11:21

Moaning!

Grandyma Sat 16-Jul-22 13:09:35

Definitely my anxiety is the worst thing. “What If?” is my catch phrase!! Worry about everything in advance- even nice things. The original Mrs. Worry Guts
