Good Morning Everyone,
Its sunny here in brackley and showing 18c on my computer already.
Today, plan a small early shop , before doing some essential house chores .
I have noticed locally the heatwave as caused queing outside hospital A & E `s , plus bus service disruption ,and also effecting rail services as well .
Tour De France final rest day , mind you in the heat of France why is allowed to continue?
Take Care,
Mick

How not to spend SundayMy husband has had a problem coughing and bleeding for a few days ,so 111 who finally sent Paramedics who then said A. and E. Quite early and to our and their amazement first ambulance there , so seen quickly and assessed, as the day went on it got really crammed up we were OK luckily and it was air conditioned which was probably a blessing. However we were there all day mostly waiting to see a doctor. Finally sent home, our dear son had been hanging about with his family waiting for some sort of diagnosis which really didn’t come. They weren’t allowed in with us,mainly because of space restrictions. Now problem still not solved except to say what it wasn’t! Too hot now to call again because I guess this time it will be rammed..

Late good morning to you all

Today is our only free day until 2nd August.

34C in the shade at the moment, I am reading on the sun lounger in the garden (in the shade)

DH is picking up the 7yr old from school at 12 noon then DD and The Imp are coming for lunch. We have turned the temperature down on the spa pool (so pleased we didn’t get rid of it when planning garden update) so lots of splashing this afternoon.

I shall be thinking of you and your family tomorrow grandMattie

Will pop back in a quiet moment in the coming weeks to try and keep up.

Keep safe and cool folks ?⛱

Good morning from a very hot East Midlands. It’s around 28 degrees now and the temperature is climbing. Had my walk before 8am and took this photo then.

Nannagarra Mon 18-Jul-22 11:15:42

I’m with you there monk08! Scrummy.

Jaxjacky Mon 18-Jul-22 11:08:05

For those who asked! Ekwa the cake is multi layered chocolate, MrJ enjoyed a big slice for supper.
This day a year ago the last Covid restrictions were removed in England, it was 31 here!
Your daughter has done brilliantly gMattie you must be very proud.

Good morning Mick and everyone from hot sunny Carlisle. Not often you can say that! It was 17C at breakfast, now it's 29C. I had to drive into town to the Post Office, the temperature rose 4C in the half hour I was there. Plenty of folk about enjoying the weather. The trick is to walk slowly, stay in the shade and frequent the shops with air con. At home I find it unpleasantly stuffy upstairs even with the blinds down, below it's pleasantly cool, to me that's 23C the usual temperature I like inside.
I don't plan to do much apart from changing the bed and doing the laundry, I might get well on with my book in these 2 days.

My congratulations also to your daughter grandMattie, I will think of you all tomorrow.

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Annoyed I forgot the green bin day, now have two full green bins…
Feeling very slothful and unmotivated, nothing to do with the weather, I just have busy patches then go to the other extreme.
However I’m on duty to feed my neighbour’s cats whilst away so that’s one thing I can’t get out of as I’m avoiding invitations.
Thoughts to grandMattie and anyone with troubles.

Good Morning from an extremely hot Cambs., forecast to be high 30's today, maybe reaching 40 tomorrow.......As I really like very low 20's... I'm struggling to cope!

Thinking of you & your family, grandMattie, during these difficult days.

Take Care folks.

joyce6135 Mon 18-Jul-22 10:12:04

A quiet idle day for me today as the temperature is set to hit 36 degrees. Congratulations to GrandMatties daughter, and I will be thinking of her for the funeral tomorrow. Going to finish my book and maybe watch a bit of tennis, hope the rain that’s forecast for Wednesday arrives! Have a safe and gentle day.

Gwenisgreat1 Mon 18-Jul-22 09:55:22

Good morning all from sunny Harrogate at 26. GN gone out for a quick walk before it gets warm!!
Congratulations on your DD getting the job she wants GrandMattie.
Marydoll that was really naughty of your neighbours not to warn you of the disruption they were causing.
Today is a nothing day, but we may be called on to pick up DGS from school if it gets too hot. A relief really because he would be opening all our curtains. He’s a creature of habit and curtains are open in the day time. This is part of his Down Syndrome symptoms.
Apart from that it’s a chatty day on the phone.
Have the best day possible folks

monk08 Mon 18-Jul-22 09:54:42

Good morning Mick and all. It’s sunny in my corner of Lancashire, currently 23°C.

We had a lovely day with family yesterday and managed to keep quite cool. The roads were fairly quiet too. Today I will be doing laundry, not much else.

Have a good day all.

luluaugust Mon 18-Jul-22 09:42:59

Good morning from sunny W Kent, it is 25 degrees in the shade already. Unfortunately we can't lie around as we would like as DH has a hospital appointment this afternoon. We have decided to go by the bye ways instead of the motorway.
Best wishes to everyone, stay cool.

Nannagarra Mon 18-Jul-22 09:15:11

Good morning from lovely, warm (not yet hot) Sefton.
monk08, do you put £20 on your Iceland bonus card to receive an additional £1, effectively saving 15% on Tuesdays? I love their seafood…and there’s so much more.
Keep cool and carry on folks!

Morning from sunny S Lanarkshire but still the wind blows! I’ve never known anything like it in the summer.

Off soon for childminding but I’m dropping in to see my sister and BiL on the way and looking forward to that.

DD1 and family have just returned from a holiday on the Maldives, she said there were loads of Russians and Ukrainians there! I would imagine neither group live in their home countries but she said it felt really bizarre given the misery we see daily in our news.

Congratulations to your DD gM, lovely to have some light in your present darkness.

Have the best day possible everyone, it is nice to see the sun ???

dragonfly46 Mon 18-Jul-22 08:55:40

Good morning temperatures due to rise to 37 here in Leicestershire.
We were once in Venice in temperatures of 47 and we survived!
Packing to go away with some friends tomorrow but will be thinking of you Mattie, a difficult day for you.

Hoping everyone has the best day possible.

Kalu Mon 18-Jul-22 08:37:23

Good morning all from the Black country another lovely sunny day.
Scaffolders have just arrived to remove the scaffolding from next door so DH will be out of bed shortly. I'm always up at least 1hr before him, that's my chill time.
Have watered the garden and washing has just finished so will hang that out then read all your happenings. Did notice Pantglas2 is doing a trip to Iceland the store if you go Tuesday show your bus pass there's an extra 10% off.
Best wishes to anyone celebrating and safe travels for those on the move, virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Monday and may you all find some ?.

Gingster Mon 18-Jul-22 08:19:48

Our beach and local tourist beach

Gingster Mon 18-Jul-22 08:18:28

Good morning all.
Walked little pooch early, avoiding hot pavements and open fields. Will walk her again this evening.
I’m getting a bit of cabin fever staying home keeping cool. Dh doesn’t mind at all - he watched the golf all weekend so was quite happy. I like to be out and about !

I do wish we were at our seaside cottage where the sea air would be lovely. My neighbour sent a pic of the beach yesterday. It hadn’t been too busy but I expect the cafe had done well! In comparison , our local beach here was packed! Why would you!!!

I expect the weather will change next week as we travel up to Suffolk . ?.

It was eldest gd’s 20th birthday yesterday . How did that happen. Her and her mum and dad lived with us for the first 7 months of her life and we’ve always had a strong bond. ♥️.
We are spending the day together on Wednesday, as she’s been out with friends this past weekend. No clubbing or parties for her… they went up to the Natural History Museum and to a country park , and animal sanctuary.?. Love her! . She certainly doesn’t take after her mum (my Dd) .

I will finish off my book today and potter around finding a few little jobs.

Keep your cool everyone and take care ?

GrannySomerset Mon 18-Jul-22 08:17:54

Another “nothing” day in prospect but it seems sensible to do very little other than trying to keep the house cool. Must say it is very dull!
