Something (to eat) that you hardly ever buy, because you know you’ll only make a pig of yourself?

Thought inspired by the fact that I just bought a packet of Garibaldi biscuits - I buy them maybe twice a year.

Another is blackcurrant jelly cubes, which I just eat. Twice a year if that.

(People with iron self control who have no idea what I’m talking about, need not reply, thank you!)

Lindt chocolate balls, especially the salted caramel ones.
Liquorice all sorts. ?

BlueSapphire Tue 19-Jul-22 12:18:06

Ooh, I forgot, Lindt plain chocolate truffles....

If it's not there, I don't really bother, but I can't resist if I buy it. Gone in a flash.
Any cakes, biscuits, chocolate. Ready salted Pringles. Crusty bread with butter and cheese, or jam. I will make a pig of myself, if it's there. Living on my own I can indulge as much as I like, so I try not to.
I was diagnosed with raised blood pressure, 6 months ago, and resolved to cut back on the goodies, and do more walking. As a result I have lost 20lbs, and feel so much better for it. I have the occasional treat, but no longer buy multipacks. My willpower couldn't resist. It's still difficult to walk past the treats when I go shopping.

Chocolate roll! I can't buy it or I eat the whole thing!

Crisps. Especially Thai sweet chilli and cheese and onion flavours. I can eat them until they come out of my ears.

Biscuits, cake, chocolate, crisps, ice cream, bread and butter ( I try to buy spread that I don’t particularly like to stop me having bread with flora or butter) Nutella ( my daughter has that and when I’m housesitting I eat it by the spoonful), peanut butter. I can usually resist things throughout the day but late evening is when I lose my resolve. The worst possible time, too. Also alcoholic drinks like Baileys. I very rarely drink alcohol but can consume things like that in vast quantities for the taste not the alcohol content.

Any fruit based confections! Fruit gums/pastels/sports mix/lovehearts.and liquorice , my own personal dragon......but limited to consumption as I believe it's not good for me with high blood pressure(who knew?!) All consumed at high speed and with fatal consequences for packaging..... And yes I have fabulous natural teeth! Eat what I want but clean teeth properly!

Willow68 Tue 19-Jul-22 12:33:22

Crisps and nuts I will eat them all, no matter how large the pack , even multi packs . So I do not have them in the house.

Camelotclub Tue 19-Jul-22 12:39:41

Aero bars, either milk choc or peppermint. Village shop sells them for £1 for a large one.

Happysexagenarian Tue 19-Jul-22 12:45:30

French bread, buttered while it's hot. Mmmmm!
Cakes of any sort
Haagen Dazs Salted Caramel Ice cream - can easily eat a whole tub (even 2) in one sitting
Marzipan. I love it and buy the big baking packs
Candy Floss. I'm thinking of getting a machine
Biscuits - I'm not fussy which ones
Crisps
Liquorice, but it has disastrous effects later!!

But I don't restrict myself, just buy them when I fancy them.

Esspee..
Yes it’s Tablet all the way, although a decent coconut ice could test me too.

MattDanNana Tue 19-Jul-22 12:54:59

Chocolate peanuts with me too! Doesn't matter which supermarket they're from... although they do vary. Some have thicker chocolate, some have nicer tasting chocolate, some are bigger...... I could go on!

In that case one huge lump counts as one jelly baby. Right?

It's almost like a type of fudge, but not as soft. It's made with condensed milk, butter and sugar - horrifically calorific and horrendously bad for your teeth, but melts in the mouth and is absolutely delicious!

Cheesy wotsits
Chocolate of any sort
Red Leicester cheddars ?‍♀️
