I watched the forecast earlier. Here in Brum we were the hottest in the UK at 41 degrees. ☀️

Only 22 here now in Northumberland, but the tides are wrong to take my dog to the beach later. He's got arthritis and can't run on the soft sand when the tide's up.

Boiling hot here in Northamptonshire. 39c but at least there's some breeze outside unlike yesterday. Like a sauna upstairs although all the ceiling fans are on upstairs and down. Got two Dyson cool fans on and a tower fan in the kitchen.
Windows and curtains closed and I'm still sweating.

We're expecting a thunderstorm tonight and same rain and a drop in temperature to 82F tomorrow. But then it's going back up to 97F by Sunday. In France.

The fires around London look awful welbeck. We've had some nasty ones day after day on the heaths around here but so far they haven't spread to any residential areas. So grateful to all our firefighters.

It's the centre of the country wot copped it this time. It's cooler round the edges if that's where you are. My indoor thermometer was 30 degrees C last night at midnight and I'm expecting it to be higher tonight (currently 31.5). The heat seems to build up during the day and it always feels hotter in the evening.

Smoke drifting over here from the wild fires in Gironde and we are 200 km away.
