Anyone awake? (Another ? thread)

Hope you’re asleep now, Fanny.
I’ve managed a couple of hours but am now awake for the duration…. Got a fan and an ice block, but it’s no,good. It’s me that’s melting.

Good morning... I can't sleep either

It’s not unusual for me to still be awake at this time, I’m still downstairs, window wide open but curtains shut to keep out the wee beasties. I’m up in cool-ish Scotland on the east coast, can’t imagine what’s it’s like further south.

Good morning. Up slightly before my usual time, around 04:20 today. Despite the weather having dropped from 35 to 17 outside overnight, I've had the most uncomfortable night of the heatwave .

On the plus side, I still have my house.

Can't sleep for all the 'what if's' that regularly run through my head overnight. Ah, can now see to the bottom of the garden..Yes, my house is till standing too, though I wonder what the temp in my loft would have been yesterday - it was 'only' 37 degrees outside

I didn’t manage to get to sleep downstairs, so have returned to bed which is now slightly cooler (27*)
There is a beautiful breeze coming off the fields and into the bathroom.

I've been awake since 4.30. The house temperature is around 28°C and outside is 22°C. I slept well with the fan running all night, I just wish I could get a few more hours!

Wordle was indeed infuriating in the small hours, FannyCornforth. It took me 5, the German one took all 6, and my only consolation was the French one in 3.

I was awake at 04.00 and did Wordle in 4 - yesterday it took me all day!

I don't mind the heat we've had the past couple of days as it was dry heat and humidity very low - right now it's 76%.

Sooo hot ... couldn't sleep myself ... so I put my hands in cold water put it on my wrist also part way up the bottom part of my arms ... then I soaked a flannel in cold water rung it out went back to bed ( had fan on) then put the cold wet flannel on my tummy , also changed it to my side, top of my legs , face & arms etc ... took a towel to bed in case too wet but no ... not brilliant but cooled me down a little ... could use a couple of flannels
