Whether very occasional or not, what’s yours?

A ‘very occasional’ one of mine came to mind since I just nipped to the corner shop for onions, needed for dinner* tonight, and (feeling peckish anyway) succumbed to curry flavour instant noodles - two packs! I’m about to scoff one for lunch.

*a very healthy Greek style green bean and tomato stew, now in the slow cooker.

Vanilla slices. Love them but avert my eyes when I pass them in M & S.....mostly.

French fries cooked in my air fryer- perfect.

Salted caramel ice cream on a stick and more than one but spaced throughout the day. Perfect for this hot weather.

Fish in crispy batter and chips. The fish is good for me but little else. I do not like ketchup so that is a minor saving.

pandapatch Thu 21-Jul-22 16:02:12

In the summer milkshakes made with ice cream and in the winter hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows - and lots of other things mentioned - KNEW I shouldn't have read this!!!

Carrs cheese and onion pasty ?

Another occasional filet of fish fan here, especially in France. Last time we were there you could order a double filet-made up for the fact that they seem to have got thinner.

PollyDolly Thu 21-Jul-22 16:23:37

A home made Victoria sandwich sponge made with all butter - no margarine - filled with thick jam and whipped double cream.........with luck it lasts the weekend.

Chestnut Thu 21-Jul-22 16:23:55

Just a chocolate milkshake from the place next to Santa Monica Pier. So thick and chocolatey I'd just have one for lunch every day. Never tasted such a wonderful milkshake. ?

Oh thank you, I am familiar with the dictionary definition - but I'd say there's a vast difference between a home made cake and what I'd class as 'junk food' - the likes of McDonalds, KFC etc. If I made someone a beautiful Victoria Sponge and they said it was junk food, I'd be quite offended!

kittylester Thu 21-Jul-22 17:31:09

It used to be KFC or a (proper) chip buttie but becoming gluten intolerant out paid to that.

Chestnut Thu 21-Jul-22 17:31:35

My definition of junk food is anything that has additives.

Dumplings! (Only in the Winter).

That has honestly made me thoroughly look forward to winter. Proper suet dumplings, in a stew. ?

Not sure I’d call them junk, though - maybe not exactly healthy non-junk.

Anything with chocolate.
I sometimes get chocolate peanut butter so I can eat a spoonful when I'm craving chocolate.
I kid myself that that's healthy. smile
