Whether very occasional or not, what’s yours?

A ‘very occasional’ one of mine came to mind since I just nipped to the corner shop for onions, needed for dinner* tonight, and (feeling peckish anyway) succumbed to curry flavour instant noodles - two packs! I’m about to scoff one for lunch.

*a very healthy Greek style green bean and tomato stew, now in the slow cooker.

Mc D cheeseburger and fries please when I'm out.

Cheese and onion crisp sandwich, lots of butter to make the crumbs stick together, when I'm home.

I think we all have different ideas of what is junk.

That's abundantly clear!

Those rolls from the chippy that probably started off crusty, but are now chewy, stuffed full of chips. smile

Crisps! Just come home hungry and tired and devoured a packet of up market chorizo crisps. Salty, artificial tasting, greasy and delightful!

Eccles cakes - all greasy, sugary pastry [preferably from M& S]

If I'm having a day out in Exeter or Plymouth I always love a big Mac, fries and mcFlurry or milkshake.
And at home my secret vice is a curry pot noodle. Don't tell anyone!

Every couple of years we have a Big Mac, fries and strawberry milk shake. OH has suddenly started buying large bags of Whotsits. Yuksad

It would be easier to name the junk food I don’t like grin

Anyway as I said on another thread, jelly babies. I do know they’re not actual food. Then crisps, biscuits, cake but got to be homemade, Eccles cakes but got to be M+S, and a whole host more very bad for me items.

MissAdventure Thu 21-Jul-22 23:40:12

I'm partial to an Eccles cake myself.
They give me horrific heartburn, though.

Instant noodles - I love the salty kick from the little foil sachet of artificially-flavoured MSG!

I remember when Doll Noodles used to be 20 pence a packet.

One large carton of Hagen Daz Pralines and Cream.
One spoon.

Vanilla slices. Love them but avert my eyes when I pass them in M & S.....mostly.

Vanilla slices for me too but from Tesco. They come in twos and go down in twos. No self control. No averted eyes ?
I keep packets of Young’s scampi in the freezer and eat the lot for supper (occasionally) dipped into a large dollop of mayo.

Check out Ko-Lee instant noodles from Sainsburys, Riverwalk. Better than Supernoodles, imho, and they are 20p a pop!

Maccas chips and egg and bacon McMuffins. Aldi hazelnut chocolate. I kid myself the nuts make it healthy.

Fish n chips
Pasties from our local baker

I'm partial to a bowl of freshly mixed Dream Topping to which I haven't succumbed for a while (four helpings to a sachet - four!) but I'd feel a bit sick and regretful afterwards.

What about those packs of very large cookies with white chocolate chips? Five in a pack? Again, I could dunk them one at a time in a cup of tea. I could demolish them in a single day.

Coffee flavoured Swiss roll, covered with custard.

Those are my favourite things but I haven't faltered for a while as I need to lose some weight, I'm salivating as I remember them.

Strawberries dipped in warm melted chocolate?

Witzend Fri 22-Jul-22 12:28:02

Maggiemaybe and Riverwalk, now and then when I’ve had the urge but can’t be bothered to walk to the corner shop, I’ve made DIY noodles - Sharwood’s medium egg noodles simmered in just enough water with half a chicken stock cube, curry powder added.
Almost as good as the proper junk version!

fairfraise Fri 22-Jul-22 12:33:59

Dream Topping, I haven't had since my early 20s. Didn't know it was still around!

Any thing from Mac Donalds, after any stay in hospital we have to go there on the way home.

Skydancer Fri 22-Jul-22 12:50:47

Angel Delight - can you still get it?

JaneJudge Fri 22-Jul-22 12:55:57

KFC chicken fillet tower burger box meal with gravy as a side
damn you

A bag of liquorice allsorts, making my mouth water just thinking of them. My DH use to eat them all the time and he would pass over the bag with the ones he didnt like, the little logs, the one's with the bobbles and any that had the tan colour with liquorice and then a white top. Very occasionally i would find the coconut round one in there. Have not bought any for ages. smile

GagaJo Fri 22-Jul-22 13:45:12

Mmmmm, lovebeigecardigans, coffee flavoured Swiss roll. I could eat a slice of that now!

Esspee Fri 22-Jul-22 13:54:24

KFC - thighs only. Must be about a year since I had it. I always enjoy it immensely and two hours later I feel nauseous.
