That's it, really.

Last summer I was trimming the front hedge with those big scissor like thingies. I'd done a fair bit, put the poppers down on top of the hedge and went to the back garden to bring the green wheelie bin round for all the cuttings. When I got back, after all of 3 minutes, the loppers had gone. I was so stunned, I just couldn't take it in! I kept looking and looking and even thought I must have taken them round the back and left them there; but I never found them. Thing is, it must have been someone who lived nearby to have been walking past because our road is a dead end in many ways.

Well, they're full of potassium, which is good for plants. smile

MissAdventure...I really have to know.... is there a reason there was/is a banana skin in your watering can?,
I am greatly concerned that I am missing out on some fantastic horticultural secret....

Someone once stole my garden waste bin. Why? We all had them free of charge from the Council. I suspected the thief used it to carry off other stolen items. the Council replaced it without comment.

That's such a cute picture.
My heart melts when I look at that cats face.
I'd really love a cat.

grin
Nope.
It was definitely a banana skin in mine.
That must be a cat burglar.

Is this your watering can MissAdventure?

If so the fire brigade have it and are releasing the offender. Not sure if the can will hold water after their work is done.

The plot thickens...

I still can’t find my mop and bucket, it’s been several weeks now, like you I still look for it.
We have a fenced (and locked gates ) garden, it’s a mystery…..

MissAdventure Sat 23-Jul-22 16:30:16

I wonder if the culprit runs a garden centre?
Compost, watering cans, plants.

A couple of years ago I had a lovely hanging basket beside the front door. Woke up one morning and there was just the empty basket hanging there!! Someone had taken the plants!!!

Well no, I agree with you. I need to give consideration as to whether this is somethng I should arrange just in case it might be needed in the future because you just never know, do you? Meantime, I'm away to water, using my hose.

And something has been knocking my birdbath over! It's happened twice this week, been out today and weighted the base down with heavy ornamental rocks. I'm wondering if it's a fox, as we have had them in the garden before.
The birdbath isn't stone but a weighty sturdy one from the RSPB made from some heavy synthetic material. Would love to set a camera up....

MissAdventure Sat 23-Jul-22 16:07:04

Im not sure I've got a pic of us.
Well, you never think these things will happen to you, do you?

I was thinking of asking on the "next door" app, so people can check if my can has got locked in their shed by mistake.

I could include a photo of me and my can in happier times.

I dare you lol

Yes but for goodness sake make sure it's cans and not pants that are asked for otherwise some folk might think you are a bit strange lol

I’m having visions of *MissA’ tying reward notices and pictures of her lost can onto lampposts and asking show owners to display some in their windows.

They could have organised an identity parade of pants.

You guys have lost the plot......surely it's an identity parade of watering cans you need to organise. If you can't see yours, clam a better one!

The cat was a she and didn’t wear anything. I never found out where the items came from, I didn’t fancy going round the village asking people grin

I must live in a very posh neighbourhood - or a very scruffy one - as I often left something on my front drive in the hope that someone would take it to save me a tip trip! Even useful things like decent garden chairs, a hose pipe and strong storage boxes have been left there for days.

MissAdventure Sat 23-Jul-22 12:36:18

Did he ever wear novelty pants?

Blossoming Sat 23-Jul-22 12:31:14

My Burmese cat used to bring home hunting trophies from neighbour’s washing lines occasionally.
