Good Morning Everyone,
Its a grey sky but dry and feels a little bit cooler compared to the last week .
Today , a nice easy day , with Chinese Curry later , after I have watched the penultimate stage of the Tour De France which is a time trial were vital minutes and seconds can be gained or lost , with a Brit in top 3 who is good at the discipline will be interesting .
Take Care,
Mick

Maw - so impressed with the puzzle. That took some stamina I'm sure. Well done x

Urmstongran Sat 23-Jul-22 14:38:01

Maw you must have some patience and determination to have completed that! Well done. Bet you don’t want to break it up just yet ....

A belated good morning everyone from Wiltshire, it’s bright but cloudy here, we had a little rain yesterday afternoon but not enough to be beneficial unfortunately. I quite envy those of you with proper rain!
A restless night here, my neck and back are playing up after heaving an enormous amount of stuff out to the pavement for the man to take for recycling. That wasn’t the best idea to have ? however it does mean I can actually access the patio at last.
So, I have cleared the ironing pile and put it away, tidied the bedroom, craft room and kitchen, brushed the new floor, loaded the dishwasher and made a coffee.
DH is walking DDog, they’ve walked to the next village, and I expect they’ll have stopped for a coffee and butty too! Beautifully peaceful here,
. After weeks of mess and noise it’s bliss though next week more painting being done- doors - so hopefully it will be a quieter job.
I hope you all have a good weekend x

A later good morning from me here in a sunny bright Northampton. For once my Saturday newspaper came early so that's what I've been doing, reading it instead of dropping in here!

My drive-cleaning man came after lunch yesterday and was here till 7pm. He has done a really good job, spending three days power-washing the drive and all the hard surfaces in the garden, then sanding and sealing everything. It looks like new, and impressed neighbours and friends are asking for his business cards! He is doing a neighbour's drive next week, and had promised to pop back in to do my sundial and a little stone cat, both of which have turned black over the years.

Am intending to take a duvet to the cleaners this afternoon to be professionally laundered, so will have a mooch around the shops and a coffee. Then home.for a steak dinner.

Enjoy the cooler weather everyone. Loved the pic of Dunstanburgh castle, Greyduster, very atmospheric, especially when you approach it early morning, and it looms out of the sea-mist. Trust you will have delicious crab soup or sandwiches at The Jolly Fisherman in Craster!

Lovely photo Greyduster we are going to Northumberland in September .Ginster glad all went well with infusion. Hope Marydoll and Grandmattie manage some rest today .

Good morning all from bright Harrogate
Belated birthday greetings to Gravygranny and Gingster yesterday’s post didn’t appear!!
Hope both DDs Gingster and Chrissielou are doing well.
Is the picture from Seahouses Greyduster?
You will undoubtedly get to the root of what was happening in your close Marydoll. What a palaver! Hope you get some rest as well.
Was talking to DGSs teacher - to my surprise she user into tears, she’s leaving the school and won’t see how my DGS will fare. He’s her favourite pupil! I told DD she said she’d keep in touch with her. DGS has that effect on people, he is a cute little boy. Having Down Syndrome he sees the world differently from the rest of us with amusing consequences.
Have the best day possible folks

Good morning Mick and all. It’s cloudy in my corner of Lancashire, currently 16°C.

I’m still in bed with a big mug of tea waiting for my pills to kick in. We were up very late last night watching ‘The Iron Lady’. Meryl Streep made a very good Margaret Thatcher.

Nothing much planned for today other than housework and sewing.

Hope GrandMattie and Marydoll are both able to get some rest today.

Sorry to read of so many with health worries, either their own or others. Hope today brings some better news flowers

Safe journeys to all travelling.

Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning all from W Kent a bit of sun trying to come through. A visit to the local farm shop for some fresh veg and a visit to DD2's home this afternoon to feed and play with her cat as she is away over the weekend.
Good wishes to all.

harrigran Sat 23-Jul-22 09:32:13

Good morning from a sunny NE.
Yesterday was an interesting day and totally not what I had planned.
I decided that it would be a cool day and I would get the laundry washed and ironed and possibly cook myself a nice meal and open a decent wine.
Sister sent a message to say she was in town and was coming to visit.
Doorbell rang a little later and it was my other sister's stepdaughter and her four children, they were on their way home to Cheshire and they had the dog with them. It was so lovely to see them, they have really suffered during covid, all six of them having had the virus at least twice and been hospitalised.
By the time I got my sister into a taxi it was way too late for a gourmet meal so I had pasta with a vegan sauce, ready in ten minutes.
I had to do the ironing because I am busy for the foreseeable so set to after 9pm.
When I was tidying up I noticed the tomato in the vegan sauce had stained my Corian sink, tried cleaning it but nothing worked so resorted to diluted bleach overnight. The stain is still there this morning.
DS and family are coming this afternoon as are my sister and BIL, Champagne is in the fridge to toast BIL's birthday.
Have a good weekend.

Morning from S Lanarkshire, where I’m waiting to be picked up by DD4 for an unexpected trip to Dunoon, it’s a surprise visit to my SiL for her birthday. DD is bringing all the makings for dinner tonight which she will cook. Hope SiL is pleased to see us, this is not my idea!!

Read later ???

Good morning from a sunny, warm Durham. DGS1 staying for the weekend, as his Mummy puts in her finery for Ladies Day at Gosforth Park. Deciding what to do while we watch Mr Tumble, but I won’t be doing much housework or gardening until he goes home.
Dunstanburgh Castle is so atmospheric Greyduster hope you get to see Bamburgh and the beaches are fabulous too.
Chrissie - sorry to hear about your DD.

Jaxjacky Sat 23-Jul-22 09:11:41

Morning all, sun in S Hants, please send rain!
Enjoy your break Ash. That looks beautiful Greyduster have a lovely time.
MrJ is with his family, lots of them, in Belfast now, ready for the annual golf competition, not competitive at all..
I’ve got faffing to do, stuff to pick up, tomato plants to tidy, daughter and grandchildren will be calling in.
That sounds infinitely preferable for your daughter Gingster.
I hope your daughter is ok Chrissielou what a worry.
Enjoy your day best you can all ??

NannyJan53 Sat 23-Jul-22 08:50:45

Good morning from a cloudy albeit still warm Black Country.

Had WhatsApp photo's off DD and family as they arrived in Portugal yesterday. Seems flight took off on time with no problems.

Today would have been my Dads' 99th birthday, so a trip down memory lane today of photographs.

No real plans today, just see what develops. Probably some housework this morning.

Such a worry for you Chrissielou I hope your DD is home soon. Sending love.

baubles Sat 23-Jul-22 08:50:02

Good morning Mick, morning all from cloudy South Lanarkshire.

Yesterday we went down to the Clyde valley (land of the garden centres) to buy a plant and came home with a set of garden furniture. We did get the plant though, a climbing jasmine as one of our climbers had given up the ghost and we had a space, God forbid.

Our furniture was very old and in bits so when I saw the huge reduction in price of the set which caught my eye I couldn’t get my purse out fast enough. This particular garden centre are already making space for their totally over the top Christmas extravaganza. Sigh.

Sending good wishes to the poorly DDs.

Marydoll, what a night, try to get 40 winks later.

No plans today, may have to pop into a supermarket though.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

dragonfly46 Sat 23-Jul-22 08:42:17

So sorry to hear your DD had a stay in hospital Chrissielou I hope she continues to improve.
Corner what a worry it must be having your friend on the other side of the country. Your poor goddaughter!

GrannySomerset Sat 23-Jul-22 08:40:18

DS, DDiL, DGS and dog arriving late morning so had better get organised though I did the relevant shop yesterday so can take things calmly. I am so out of practice at having other people in the house and I can’t imagine how Marydoll is copjng with long term lodgers. Some rain yesterday afternoon and more forecast for later but of course we need gentle rain for a fairly long time not heavy showers which will run off the parched ground. Some people are never satisfied!

Gingster Sat 23-Jul-22 08:30:38

Not to worry Marydoll - what a night you’ve had. Try to nap during the day. ???

ShazzaKanazza Sat 23-Jul-22 08:27:24

Good Morning Mick and everyone from a sunny morning. Still bone dry. Urms I wish the rain you had in the night had travelled here.

Greyduster your picture is lovely. Three people we know including you have stayed in Northumberland these last weeks and have absolutely loved it so it’s on our list to visit.

Marydoll it sounds very upsetting all those emergency vehicles in your cul-de-sac. Hope you can rest up today.

Chrissielou sorry to hear about your DD in A+E. ?

Today we are going to Bridlington to visit my uncle. He has a health issue at the moment he’ll be dying to tell us about which is concerning. He loves to see DH as they talk about football. We haven’t told him we are going it will be a nice surprise for him. I’m sure we’ll have fish and chips while there.
First job though a big food shop to Tesco. Oh the joys!

Have a lovely day everyone. My thoughts to those with stress and worries weighing them down. ??

Grammaretto Sat 23-Jul-22 08:24:47

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. My newly fitted blackout blinds meant I wasn't woken at dawn but the sun is trying to come round the sides!
Oh Chrissielou such tough times. Sending hugs. Gingster that's good about your DD's infusion at home.
But poor Marydoll as if your nights aren't hard enough without all the commotion. I hope it turns out ok.
The tree surgeon is due today to lop branches from a huge sycamore which my neighbours want taken down. Luckily they have agreed to share the cost and it's just to be pruned I think.

Lovely photo Greyduster.
Have a good day everyone.

Marydoll Sat 23-Jul-22 08:10:45

Sorry, I mixed up Chrissielou and *Gingsrer's DD's. ?

My brain is mush this morning.

ginny Sat 23-Jul-22 08:10:21

Good morning to all.
DD and family were held up for four hours getting to Folkestone yesterday for Euro Tunnel.
Just had a message to say they have driven through the night and are now eating breakfast on the beach before the can get into the villa they have rented. What a journey !

A quiet day for us. Some pottering in the garden and some art/ craft work for me.

Hope Saturday is good to you all.

Grandmadinosaur Sat 23-Jul-22 08:05:04

Good morning from sunny East Yorkshire.

All is calm here but I’m waiting the arrival of GS as we’re having him for the day. The coast awaits which he will love. The parents are off to collect DILs passport from the Durham office.

Good news re your DD * Gingster*

Take care everyone.

kittylester Sat 23-Jul-22 08:03:24

Good morning from a cloudy North Leicestershire.

Not a lot on this morning - possibly a walk to the village for flowers.

This afternoon our choir is singing at a fete organised by the mil of our friend with MND. Mixed emotions here.
