Such a twit! Second cookery screw-up recently.

Unless we have guests we hardly ever have any cakes or biscuits in, so fancying Something Nice an hour ago, I thought I’d make some oat biscuits - super quick and easy.

Just after putting them in the oven, I realised that I’d forgotten to add the sugar! And 3 tbsps of Golden Syrup alas aren’t enough to make them nice. ?

I expect the birds will appreciate them though.
No more Golden Syrup for another batch, either, unless I toddle down to the corner shop.

The ones I should have made are not over sweet at all, no more than any other biscuits anyway.
Only 3 level tbsps of GS to
3 oz oats
3 oz SR flour
3 oz butter or marge
1 tbsp milk
And the 3 oz sugar that I forgot.
I usually add some lemon zest, too.

If they're not sweet to your taste, could you eat them as savoury biscuits instead, with cheese perhaps?

Maybe we should all come up with a recipe and sell them.
Though I make mistakes like the sage leaves that are sitting on my window sill and should have been in last nights pasta!
