Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, where it's 17°C.
GM, I would already stripped that tree to make jam. We planted ours thirty years ago and it has never fruited! That reminds me, I have a few blackcurrants, so make may make jam today, in the jam maker, little effort required.
Yesterday turned out to be an unexpectedly pleasant day. I had messaged my son and had mentioned I was in Silverburn, one of the sites, which his company manage for the owners.
He happened to be on site for a meeting, five minutes later he appeared and took me for coffee. I felt like the queen, when the general manager, whom I know from a previous life appeared and gave me the biggest of hugs. I was then was introduced to various other managers. Boy was I a proud mum!
I have had very little social contact with people for months, so much so, that DS told me I was chatting too much and keeping them all from an important meeting!
They were joking that they would warn the security staff that a shoplifter, disguised as a little old lady was on site.
Little did they know, they had jinxed me!
I went into to Tesco for a few basics and as usual was picked for a random search.
I had nothing to hide, did I?
Some strawberries hadn't scanned, so I was subjected to a full search. My trolley was a mess of bags, (and a plastic greenhouse for DD), as I was struggling and had thrown everything in randomly. Another item hadn't scanned, I was absolutely mortified!
The assistant even tried to scan the half drunk bottle of juice (not from Tesco) and the item, I had picked up from TKMaxx for DD.
The scanner was dodgy, m'lud!. Well that's my story and I am sticking to it.
DS thought it was so funny that he wasn't required to come and liberate me from Silverburn jail! ?
I seem to have some kind of super power in me, which attracts trouble!
After I was released from custody, I started the 1/4 mile trek to my car. I know, because the manager told me the distance yesterday!
Foolishly, I had done and bought too much and had to keep sitting down. I always walk outside in the fresh air, to avoid people.
Two security guards spotted me and came to ask if I was ok. I said I was fine, but the man insisted I was not. (He was correct) He took the trolley from me and insisted on pushing it to my car in the multi storey car park, even taking my trolley to get my £1 coin back!!!
These men had no knowledge of my connection to the centre management team, but will get a pleasant surprise, when their boss calls them in to complement them today!
The most important news of all, is that the lodgers have FÌNALLY LEFT THE BUILDING!
All I can hear is silence.
We went for a quick look at their new home, it needs some work done, but they have decided to move in anyway.
The garden has been sadly neglected and the abundant plum tree is full of rotten fruit, ( any advice welcome), but I did come away with a lot of flowers for the house!
The best part of the day, is that Dollie lives five minutes down the hill, so we popped in to see her and DIL She was so excited that her beloved papa had arrived unexpectedly.
I had to have a conducted tour of her own little garden and was expected to name all the flowers!
Of course, I had overdone it as usual and fell asleep, once we returned home. However, I have to make the best of the good days. I have difficult times ahead and want to seize every moment, I can..
The plan today, is to assemble my new water feature, it looks as if it may be a bit of a challenge, but I'm determined to do it myself. !
I have only read the first few posts, so I'm going back to read.
Enjoy your day, whatever your plans and sending virtual hugs to all, who are struggling. .
