Can I just ask why you always use three full stops instead of just one?

I wondered that, too, Aveline. Beautful always posts like that, but no-one else does it. I thought at first that she was interrupting herself with each lot of dots, but I now think she just keeps her finger on the full stop button. It does make her sound rather breathless.

What often happens is that a perfectly good thread, about say a health issue, is suddenly hi-jacked by the posting of a blatant advert for viagra or the like or trying to get posters to click onto a link. That advert would be reported by the next person wanting to post properly so the advert would be removed and the thread could continue.

Often advertising posts are just sent randomly to open a post and the first person to see it would report it. Old threads are sometimes ‘revived’ by an advert or questionable comment, which the next reader would report.

Posts can be self-deleted or deleted by gransnet admin if deemed to be rule breaking.

If I see a spam post on a thread I report it and then post 'reported' so that other people know it's been reported and they don't need to. It also saves Gnet HQ from being inundated with posters all reporting the same spam posting.
You'll usually find a 'deleted post' on the thread.

As to the other things you mention, I have no idea.
