The match was great GG. I don’t usually watch any football but It was so nail- biting to watch the Lionesses. I had to have a wander round the garden a couple of times to cool off ?.
We’ll done girls ?

Grandmabatty Mon 01-Aug-22 08:08:59

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and brilliant sunshine. Unfortunately I can't enjoy it as I'm feeling decidedly unwell. Sore throat, headache and general aches. I'll do a covid test in a while. Have a good day all.

Jaxjacky Mon 01-Aug-22 08:08:59

Good morning all from a sunny but cool NI , today the gang staying with me are taking me to a NT garden and my Sister with more of the gang are meeting us there , tomorrow we are off to Mayo , I keep thinking Connemara, to much sighing from visitors
granMattie that was a rude awakening!
Enjoy your empty Marydoll
Blubalou enjoy your painting , I used to enjoy similar breaks , but we did mostly acrylics , watercolours are beautiful but tricky !

Good morning from an overcast Colchester. Another warm, dry day here. Rain keeps being forecast but doesn't amount to more than a few drops.
Shopping and housework today.
Virtual hugs for Grandmabatty and all who need one. Love to all ?x

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny South Yorkshire. Hope you enjoy your break in Harrogate, Mick, and lunch stop at “Meadowhell” as we locals tend to call it! We had a nice late lunch yesterday. GS and his dad watched the football afterward and DD and I sat in the conservatory going over the photos we had taken on holiday and sorting out the sea glass we had collected into different colours - there’s rather a lot and we should do something with it. Today, as the sun is shining, I will do more laundry, cleaning, and have a walk down the lane later to see how the hazelnuts are coming on.
Enjoy the best day you can folks.

Ladyleftfieldlover

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Urms - you’ve got decorators too! Ours are coming today at 8 am. They should be doing the kitchen, utility and larder first. Then the lounge and finally hall and landing. We aren’t sure how long it’s going to take but surely two or three days for each. I have a blood test this afternoon. I have been taking a statin this year and my GP has ordered a blood test. I’ll do my Waitrose shop afterwards and also collect a new wine rack which I ordered on the John Lewis website yesterday.

You'll be surprised at how fast professionals work. One decorator did our hall, stairs and landing in 6 hours....prep, 2 coats, ceiling and woodwork. Quick drying paints helps.

Baggs Mon 01-Aug-22 08:49:26

Good morning from a sunny Boggy Brae in Argyll. I don't often post on here but I do read it most days. The thing is, I have news: I'm wearing a dress! ??

It's a dress I bought when I was going to be standing, with others, alongside the Moderator of the Church of Scotland at our celebration of ten years work for the charity, run by CoS, for which I work. I haven't worn the dress since that event five years ago and I thought "what a waste!" so I'm wearing it 'à la Chitty' (family phrase based on Minibaggs's baby nickname), i.e. with loose, light baggy troosers underneath. I hate tights but my legs and ankles feel the cold.

It's only a cotton dress.

I'm really comfortable ?

Good days, all!

Good morning Mick and everyone from warm sunny Carlisle where I am back in sandals and bare feet!
Have a good trip, Mick, it sounds interesting.
I am off shortly to pop to the surgery with paperwork re my holiday insurance claim...the Doc hasn't completed all I sent in before. I don't blame her, things weren't that obvious and I thought all was in order myself. Feel a bit guilty about bothering the Docs with more bureaucracy.
Other than that it's a housework and laundry day. It looks safe to put washing outside, no showers on the horizon I think.
Glad you're getting the plumber shortly grandMattie. What a struggle life would be without piped water.

Have a good day all.

Good morning all,

Bright sunshine this morning so the bedding should dry well.

Lots going on in the GM thread world today - I hope you all enjoy your outings, sortings and baking.

Coffee morning group for me today, I’ve missed a couple with travelling, but back to normal now.

Enjoy this Yorkshire day ?.

Beechnut Mon 01-Aug-22 09:00:18

Good Morning everyone from sunny Severnside.

I love a dress Baggs or a skirt. I don’t very often wear trousers.

Here we are the start of another week and month. This year is flying by. I’ve given myself a deadline to get some jobs done by my birthday. On that note I’ll make a start.

Have a good day all ?

Greyduster Mon 01-Aug-22 09:01:09

Well done Baggs! During the very hot weather recently, I dug out the only skirt I owned and wore it after a long long absence, found how lovely it felt to free up my legs and went out and bought another! Neither have been worn since. But they are there…… just in case!

Best wishes anyone celebrating and virtual hugs where needed.
Enjoy your Monday everyone and may you all find some ?

Good morning from an overcast NE.
Bad night, 3.30am before I finally drifted off.
DD is on her way home to Belgium after two weeks holiday, we had dinner together last night. SIL is remaining in the UK for the present as he is having dental work done.
Nothing planned for today but my sister may visit, she leaves the UK in a few days to return to her home in Germany. She is in her 80s now so never sure when we will meet again. Before this visit it was three years.
Have a good day.

Marydoll Mon 01-Aug-22 09:16:43

Greyduster, I used my seaglass to make garden lights.

Nannagarra Mon 01-Aug-22 09:32:42

Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside northwest coast.
Going to clean the inside of the car today for its MOT and wash some curtains.
Nice day yesterday, exhibition and lunch, and not a dainty dish to be sure. Half cold, burnt stuffing and my friends hunters chicken stuck to the skillet, yuk. It was an emergency meal as our regular venue had no chef that day, then the garden centre cafe had closed.
On the way back to the train, an older women tottered out from her front door shakily and asked for help. Turned out she wanted a bottle of wine…poor soul and there for the grace of god go I.
Nice pic Ashcombe, hope you feel better Grandmabatty and thoughts to all with troubles.
Will read through later.

hulahoop Mon 01-Aug-22 09:50:22

Blossoming Mon 01-Aug-22 09:50:32

Good morning Mick and all. It’s dry and bright in my corner of Lancashire, currently 17°C. Enjoy your trip Mick.

It’s a new month, wonder what it will bring? Today will be my usual routine of housework, physio, cycling and Gaelic lessons. I’m hoping to have a short walk to the river later. Tree pollen is low today so fingers crossed my hay fever will be OK. Grass pollen is high but that isn’t usually a trigger for me. I’m keeping a diary at the moment as it has seemed worse this year, so perhaps I have become sensitive to more things.

Have a good time BlueBalou it sounds very relaxing. Safe journey for tomorrow Urms, also Maw for today.

What a pain Grandmattie, glad the plumber is coming to fix it.

Hope you’re OK Grandmabatty flowers

Hello there Baggs, I am a big fan of summer dresses on hot days!
