Hope all on travels have a lovely time and the weather ☀️ to match!

Morning Annie and all, and thanks to Pantglas2, for opening.
DH has tested positive for Covid this morning . He had been coughing since Sunday night, but as he has had a cough for many years, we sort of discounted covid, but then thought we should test. I am Negative, thank heavens.
Marydoll, you are going through such a tough time lately, so sending lots of healing thoughts to you.
To the mums with daughters going through cancer treatment, it must be so hard for you and them. My own treatment sounds so much easier by contrast. Loving thoughts to them also.
GrandMattie thinking of you with all you have had to cope with in the recent months. Calmer times are surely due .
So, a few days indoors and doing not much. Thank heavens for kind neighbours when we need them.
Have a good day one and all.

Good morning from West Sussex. Cloudy but bright here. It was very warm last night.
I am in panic mode as everything apart from largest items of furniture have to be moved from living room and hall. I had forgotten how many bags and boxes of ‘things waiting to be sorted’ I had stashed away in corners. We only have one room downstairs plus integral garage in our ‘mews’ house so not many places to move stuff to. Why was I not more radical with my decluttering, started during lockdowns but seemingly never ending?

Marydoll your complex health situation is heartbreaking. How you still achieve so much is a miracle. I hope and pray for some solution from your medical team to give you a better quality of life.

luluaugust Happy Birthday ?

harrigran Tue 02-Aug-22 10:15:37

Good morning from an overcast NE where we had overnight rain.
Quiet day yesterday, tidied the pots of flowers on the patio and sat for a while doing a crossword, enough sunshine to boost my vitamin D.
DD sent me a message last night to say that the Eurostar she was on was running 100 minutes late and at 10pm she was still at Lille. No announcement as to the delay so she went online and found out that they were waiting for the bomb disposal team to arrive shock
My sister didn't come yesterday, rang me and said she will come today if the workmen leave early.
Went to itv hub to watch murder in Provence last night, fell asleep half way through so that was a waste of time.
Best wishes to all who are feeling poorly.

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders where it is dreich but warm.
My French visitor leaves today 38degrees in Toulouse but he says he has enjoyed his holiday which included painting most of my kitchen.
Another visitor arrived last night and not feeling well so I have put her into isolation!
We have tickets for Hamlet in the Fringe tonight with Ian McKellen and I hope we don't have to cancel.

Not much good news from Marydoll. So sorry to hear what you are going through.

Have as best a day as you can everyone. Happy Tai Chi grandMattie

Good morning all from a soggy Glasgow. I was so looking forward to helping DD1 with some gardening at hers, nothing too strenuous but an opportunity to get me out of the house now that DH is much more active but not quite ready to go out and about just yet. I will still visit with some cakes and enjoy hearing both GDs non stop chattering.

Ash, my mother had a successful mitral valve repair in 1974 and I have since heard of so, so many success stories since those early days of her operation. I wish you all the best.
Marydoll, I still call the old Southern General the Suffering General, a journey which I could possibly do with my eyes shut now as DH and I have both been patients there this year and now attending clinics! The treatment and care we both receive has been second to none. My heart goes out to you and all you are having to endure. My dearest wish is you have no further setbacks and your consultant digs deep to find a solution for you.
Hoping you are on the mend soon Grandmabatty. Rest and look after yourself in the meantime.
Strong healing vibes for your DDs, kitty, Chrissie and
Gingster. Such difficult times for all of you.

Wishing everyone a pleasant day and some respite for those who are struggling.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

hollysteers Tue 02-Aug-22 09:29:44

Good morning everyone from a rainy northwest coast and I fear Mick might have rain up here for his trip.
Will finish cleaning the inside of my car today after usual singing at music club, although the chap who runs it is in hospital sadly. I’m rather a slut re the car, it’s full of stuff and I was tempted to have it valeted, but with a hand held Dyson, it’s not so bad.
Watched Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette film last night, sumptuous to the eye, but Kirsten Dunst just looked like your average American girl next door and all the American accents jarred.
The cat chased a tiny mouse in front of me in the meantime.
Mice don’t bother me, but…
Thoughts to all with worries, will read later.

Good morning all from a bright but windy W Kent. My birthday today, how time flies, so off for tea and cake and pick up some food for a family get together this evening. I was hoping to be in the garden but we shall see.
Thinking of those with hospital appointments and other difficult things to be done. Best wishes to all.

BlueSapphire Tue 02-Aug-22 09:24:20

A later good morning from me in a dull, overcast Northampton. It was like this yesterday at this time but had lovely blue skies and sunshine by the afternoon, so I sat in the garden and
started a new book.

Hairdresser appointment at lunchtime, then pop down to Sainsbury's to pick up my holiday money and return a top. Then home to await the plumber early evening; he didn't turn up yesterday.

Ash, two boys I was in 6th form with at school are/were consultants at Derriford Hospital, one a neurosurgeon and the other a consultant Obstetrician/Gynaecologist; I suppose they must have retired by now, being as we are in our mid/late 70s!

Must go and wash up and tidy the kitchen, looks as though a bomb has hit it.

Hope Mick enjoys his Yorkshire break.
Have a pleasant Tuesday everyone.

EkwaNimitee Tue 02-Aug-22 09:07:44

Good Morning everyone from grey, windy but warm Carlisle where it has rained quite a lot overnight. It's supposed to clear up by lunch time. I hope so because I'm off to the hairdresser, an event which tends to bring on poor weather especially wind!
I'll get a little housework done this morning and may have a word with the dentist, that tooth extraction has set off various teeth aching on that side of the mouth, upper and lower jaws.
I need to do some serious dead-heading of my sweetpeas, they are going over quite rapidly now although new shoots are appearing so maybe a second display? Seems a bit early for them to entirely give up.

Good luck Ashcombe and I'm very sorry to read your news Marydoll. Best wishes for what sounds like difficult weeks ahead.

Have the best possible day everyone.

Blossoming Tue 02-Aug-22 09:07:23

Good morning everyone. It’s raining heavily in my corner of Lancashire, currently 19°C.

Today will be my usual routine of housework, physio, cycling and Gaelic lessons. I decided not to go for a walk yesterday, as I would not have been able to do my cycling as well. The cycling is being very beneficial and I don’t want to slip back. Tree pollen is low again today so will see if the hay fever behaves.

Safe journey Urms.

Sorry you’re still feeling poorly Grandmabatty.

Have the best day you can everyone ???

Was intrigued that nannyjan had found a building society account offering 5% interest! There must be a snag somewhere?

I am sorry to read your post Mary I hope you get some answers at the hospital today.

Dragonfly, this appointment is for my hip, unfortunately, a new hip won't help, I'm told.

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone.

Good morning all, and hoping Mick is enjoying his trip.
Yesterday was our DGDs birthday and she is away in Scotland so we had our own celebratory trip out to celebrate her . We had knickerbocker glories at a dairy cafe. A real blast from the past, and such a treat, then walked on an Iron Age site in lovely sunshine.
Today is wet, which is very welcome, and we’ll be walking in our local park and drinking coffee under a tree in the lavender garden.

Thinking of all with poorly daughters. Tough treatments... this chemotherapy is so brutal.

Marydoll, you are so strong! Let’s hope that withdrawal of medication is more help than hindrance. Hope today goes well.

Grandmabatty Tue 02-Aug-22 08:20:56

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 19°, wet and windy. Marydoll that's a worry for you indeed. I hope it can get sorted. Urms safe journey to your sunny home.
I'm not any better, Marydoll. Thanks for your concern. I slept a lot yesterday but I still have an awful sore throat and a headache. I'm running a temperature too. I tested yesterday and was negative so it must be another virus. I should have been going out for lunch today but I've cancelled as I don't want to pass it on. Have a good day all.

Nannagarra Tue 02-Aug-22 08:11:55

Good morning from Sefton by the sea where we have refreshing rain.
Like Freespirit55 we’re due to have the DGC tomorrow so we’ll be tidying and cleaning. A wander into Iceland on -10% for 60+ Tuesday is likely. Last week I was asked if I am eligible for the discount - oh, joy!
Another large bag is ready for the charity shop though the cupboards are still full. How does that happen?
Wishing you all a peaceful day.
