Thanks for opening up Pantglas I wasn’t sure whether to or not! Mick used to deputise didn’t he maybe he doesn’t any more?
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where the rain has been torrential for hours - in fact it woke me up!
I know, I think I’ll go over to Spain this afternoon get a blast of sunshine for a while.
?✈️?
Thank you. Rain, Pant ? Lucky you!!!
This morning is following the usual pattern - grey, overcast in the morning, the very bright and warm for the afternoon and evening. I find it exhausting.
The burst pipe was fixed by a very nice young man; he changed the jammed mixer tap at the same time. Less fancy but it works! We had water by lunchtime. One realises how much one needs water when it’s not available, especially for flushing the loo.
Today, I been asked to lead T’ai Chi. Although I’m happy to do so, it’s been nearly three years since I attended regularly; first with covid, then with Philip’s death, finally with nursing DH in his final months. I don’t think it’ll be well attended.
Supermarket this pm, getting food that DS likes. He’s leaving on Friday ?
Have a good day all. Carpe diem. ?????
Bien viaje “Urms”. Rather you than me, in that heat…
Good morning all from soggy South Lanarkshire
My days are fairly lazy, I must try to get back to a busier life. We had a very pleasant walk in the park yesterday after MrB had done a couple of skip runs, the garage doesn’t look much different but he did get rid of a load of ‘stuff’.
I think today may involve a supermarket shop, such excitement!
Safe trip Urms.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. I haven’t looked out of the window yet! Second day of the decorators today - they think it will take until the middle of next week. WI Coffee morning and then I must pop into Oxford for a few things, including a birthday present for my brother in law.
Good morning all from a wet North Leicestershire.
Singing lesson, lunch with DS1 and his new lady friend and some admin today for me. Dd1 has chemo session 3 today.
Love the sparrowfart lol , I managed a little longer. Very wet here today in Lancashire. Cleaning day I think . Having my grandson tomorrow afternoon always a joy. Have a nice day
Good morning from rainy Leicestershire - the gardens loving it!
Not posted for a while as I have had a headache, the doc reckons it is delayed whiplash from my fall in May! I now know that whiplash is no joke.
We were going to get rid of all my DHs golf clubs as he doesn’t play any more but discovered yesterday that my 7 year old DGD is a natural so they may go to a good home.
Safe travels Urms and Mick.
Your DS will have mixed emotions when he travels back to India Mattie, it must have been a difficult vacation for him.
Wishing everyone the best day possible.
Hope your DDs chemo goes well today kitty will that be halfway through or is she having 8?
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very wet South Yorkshire. GS is coming over today for an overnight stay. His dad will drop him off on the way to work. We were supposed to be doing some gardening, but unless it dries up this afternoon we will have to postpone it until tomorrow. I have chopping and digging for him to do - he enjoys that - but while it is wet, we’ll probably cook something. I noticed yesterday that there are lots of ripe blackberries around, so there’ll be plenty to supply my freezer again this year.
Have the best day you can folks.
Morning Kitty and All.
Dry and warming up in Bucks.
Day 3 of our DGSs annual visit. All going well but we had to restock at Sainsbury’s yesterday, where do they put all that food?
Hope all goes well for your DD1 Kitty
Good morning all from an overcast Black country, we had rain sometime during the night.
Hoping to go into Birmingham today to see the bull from games opening ceremony, will see what the weather holds.
Glad your leak was sorted GM .
Have a safe journey Urms and anybody else on the move.
Enjoy your Tuesday and may you all find some ?.
Good morning from cloudy Colchester. Like GM I am envying those with rain. I can't remember the last time we had more than a few drops here. 29° is forecast for this afternoon and its humid too..yuk.
I am volunteering in a charity shop and so will have air conditioning for a large part of the day.
The shops are selling jumpers and coats already and I need to replace my hot weather clothes that are wearing out!
Love to all ? x
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s windy, dry just now but we had some overnight rain
Thanks for opening up Pantglas enjoy your brunch today
Today we’re looking after the DGC until early afternoon, we’ll drop them home and then I’m meeting my friend for a coffee and a chat. I’m looking forward to seeing her as we missed last weeks catch up.
Hoping all goes well for your DD kitty
Safe travels Urms ??
Hope everyone finds something to enjoy today and take care all whatever the day brings ?
Good morning from an overcast Black Country, where it rained overnight.
Had a lovely 6 mile walk yesterday with the walking group, then home for lunch. Then popped into town to open a Building Society Account which gives 5% interest. I had filled in the form ready. Was there for 3pm, they close at 2.30pm! So will go early this morning.
I bumped into someone who I haven't seen for a while, so we went to a cafe for coffee and a chat.
Safe travels Urmston I hope it is no too manic at the Airport.
Meeting a friend this morning. She has her 3 year old grandchild, so will meet in the park, or if it's raining I will go over to her house. Then over to Mums as I have made her portions of Lasagne and Chilli for her freezer, as she seems to have given up cooking now.
Best wishes to your DD Kitty hope it goes well. Hope your headache is easing now Dragonfly
Morning All from a damp corner of Somerset.
Wasn’t expecting the rain this morning, no idea how to entertain our visitors. Oh heck. Yesterday was warm and sunny, after lunch out we sat in the sun by the sea wall with ice cream. Oh well, umbrellas today it is.
Safe travels to all on the move. Hope Tuesday is kind to us all.
Good morning, all, from an overcast Torbay. Thank you for taking the initiative, Pantglas2.
Safe travels, Urmstongran. My DD and family are in Barcelona where the highs are in the mid 30’s all week!
I’m sure the T’ai Chi wil be a breeze, grandMattie. How lucky they are to have someone willing to stand in.
Sorry to hear about the whiplash, dragonfly46, especially as it’s obviously genuine, unlike those who falsely claim to have it.
Early start for me as I’m meeting my cardiac surgeon today. He’s from Derriford Hospital in Plymouth but runs a satellite clinic at Torbay Hospital. I’m also booked in for pre-op assessments which suggests the surgery to repair my mitral heart valve could be fairly soon. ?
Our Technical Rehearsal went quite well last night with everyone in attendance, including the three recent Covid victims and the director who has just been in hospital, where he was also diagnosed with a leaky heart valve!
Enjoy whatever today brings! ?????
Good morning all from the Suffolk seaside and still no sign of rain for us. I’m full of envy for those who have it. We are so dry here in the SE. !
We’re heading back to Essex today where it is as dry as here! ?. A tip run first and hopefully be back by midday for my afternoon Bridge Club. Dh will go to footie tonight with ds1. These are the some of the things we miss while we are up here, , no matter how much we love it.
Happy holidays Urms - I’m another who could not bear that heat! Each to their own!
Kitty I do hope your DD ‘s chemo goes well. A means to an end! My DD is having immunotherapy - not such an aggressive treatment but after 4 infusions she is feeling the after effects now. Extreme tiredness and nausea. She has another 4 to go! ?. Chrissie I hope your DD is ok and coping! ?. Our darling girls ! ♥️.
Enjoy the rest of this week with your son G M , he has been a great support to you.
Enjoy your days ?
Good morning from south Somerset, somewhere different for me!
I am staying at a rather grand country house , enjoying lovely company and food and dabbling in watercolours all day.
It’s very peaceful and I rather think I could easily become accustomed to the life!
Hope you all have a peaceful day x
Good morning. Dull again this morning but hopefully like yesterday the afternoon will be sunny.
Some cakes to make this morning. A trip to the field with the dog and then some art /craft work.
Hope all have a good day.
Good Morning Pantglas and everyone from a damp Hull where it’s rained overnight.
Hoping Mick’s journey up to our neck of the woods went well yesterday.
Urmstongran safe journey to Malaga. Have a great time. Looking forward to hearing all about it.
Kitty best wishes to your DD ? for her third chemo.
Hi Freespirit55 ??
We have DGS again today. We had the water chute out yesterday afternoon. Not sure what to do today. We were going to the coast but it’s going to rain up to lunch so could be an indoor play area this morning.
Hope everyone has the best day possible and thoughts to those with challenges in their lives. ??
Good morning from Mosely where it is overcast and we've had some rain. I know I said I was going to Norfolk (no it wasn't a case of taking a left instead of a right at the M6) but the Brum family needed me so I came here yesterday and will drive to Norfolk this afternoon, home on Thursday. It sounds as if some gentle wishes are called for, especially for Daughters. So wishing you all a pleasant day
along with bon voyage to Urmstongran
Thank you for your good wishes for DD1. This is her last of the 3 weekly cycles but then she starts on weekly sessions for 9 weeks and then the radiotherapy.
She saw her oncologist yesterday and was pleased to hear she was going to be prescribed the new drug that has great results in preventing a return of the cancer.
Our darling girls indeed gingster.
Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where its already 17°C.
Thanks to my favourite pupil Pants for opening up. I hope Mick is enjoying his trip.
I'm so pleased to read you are getting out and about, Baubles, such excitement! ?
Dragongfly, our six year old Dollie is also showing skill as a golfer. DS1 has built a mini putting green in his garden and as a leftie, just like her beloved papa, she will inherit his many clubs! Yet another bond with her. ?
Grandmabatty, hoping to hear you feel a bit better today.
I have a hospital appointment first thing, at the old Suffering General as Kalu calls it. It was postponed because I was too unwell to attend last month.
Normally, I would have had a wander at Braehead afterwards, but have no inclination to do so. Anyway, as it is the school holidays and very wet, it will be far too busy for me.
I had two long telephone conversations with my RA support nurse yesterday. After the first one, she said she had to speak with my consultant ASAP, about my current health situation.
She phoned me back an hour later, to say that having looked at the endoscopy report, under the present circumstances, ALL, my RA medications have to be stopped with immediate effect, until I see my consultant in October. I will be left with no medication to manage it, difficult times ahead for me, methinks. I seem to be in a bit of a pickle to say the least. If I were reading this, I would think the person writing, was making it all up, to get attention!
My toxic medication is probably responsible for my current, scalp, stomach and throat problems and is too dangerous to continue with it. My mind has now gone into overdrive, imagining the worst case scenario.
I just wish everyone would stop beating about the bush (or going round the hooses, as we say here) and tell me what their thoughts are. I am very unsettled. DH says I'm shouting out in my sleep, that's always a sign, I'm worrying. He has become very quiet, a sure thing that he is worrying!
Unfortunately there can also be no intervention with steroids either, in the event of a flare up, it's too risky.
This has set me back forty years, to when my RA was first diagnosed, having been missed for years.
This poses another worry, because steroids are the usual treatment for any lung flare ups (as Gwen will confirm) I have and I'm also allergic to most of the usual lung condition treatments.
I think I will have to live in splendid isolation, to avoid catching anything.
I must go and was my hair, with my prescription shampoo. I always smell of tar, after using it. # tarmacadam.
My grannie lived beside a facility, which extracted tar from the coal, which my uncles dug up, the smell takes me back over sixty years!
.
I wish you all the best of days. Its definitely a case of making the best of every opportunity offered us, we never know what is waiting round the corner. If you are dithering and procrastinating, don't!
