☕️ back to chamberpot use in lovely north Wales ??????? this morning where it’s another lovely day on the horizon. Hope Mick has enjoyed his ‘oliday in Yorkshire and will be back on duty tomorrow?

How awful your tumble Blossoming - it’s scary how easily it happens isn’t it? Take things easy for from here on ?

Not much happening at PGTowers today but some admin and a huge batch of birthday cards to sort for this month - all those pre-Christmas parties must’ve been fun, eh??

Have a lovely weekend everyone x

I use the Libby app as well as Borrow box. It’s great being able to read the magazines for free. We also use the Press Reader app for newspapers.

Pittcity Fri 05-Aug-22 19:35:53

Urmston I use Libby app to borrow magazines from the library free. You can get the latest issues on the day they are released free.

Good morning all from a sunny at the moment Glasgow. I was awake at 4.30am with persistent pain from pain in my fractured hip which seems to be taking forever to recover, I eventually fell asleep again around 7.00am. I feel a groggy day is ahead so nothing else for it but to get comfy and read my book.

Enjoy your visit from DS and DIL Greyduster. Sorry to hear you were feeling flat. Safe trips for *GM’s) DS and Brook, what a horrible time for you GG. It certainly pulls the feet from under you and leaves you feeling so weak. Everything crossed DD3’s temp. stays normal kitty?, rest when you can.
Enjoy your friend’s 80th birthday celebration Stilllearning

Hoping all have a good day with healing vibes and gentle hugs to our unwell and also those struggling with worries whatever they may be.

Good Morning all from the Scottish Borders. I put on Summer clothes as the sun is streaming in but it is quite chilly indoors.
After my 6 mile walk with U3A yesterday I collapsed on the couch tackled some admin so am feeling slightly pleased with myself. I was put through to the bereavement line at my energy supplier (who knew?) and the phone was answered (yes!) by a pleasant sounding girl who made a few adjustments. It has been 20 months since DH died and I still receive bills addressed to him although clearly paid by me.
Empowered, I then put up the pulley in the kitchen and the wall clock after the decorating was done. No need for Paul and Debbie here Nannagarra grin

Only one more day until DS and family arrive from NZ. I shall meet them at the airport.

Poor GG and the bad salmon. Unusual to be edible and still deadly. Perhaps it is salmonella. (sorry)
Harrigran , Baubles, Marydoll, Blossoming and now Auntieflo flowers

Good morning all,

Another breezy morning here in South Yorkshire, and as Greyduster says, a bit cooler. I’m not sure if it rained overnight where I live as everywhere looks dry, but it could have done.

Hair to dry in a minute, then I’m not sure what’s on the agenda, although upstairs could do with a fettle.

Take care everyone.

Good morning from Dunblane where the sun is shining. Haven’t posted for a while as have had Covid and it knocked me for six! Much better now though. Had a lovely day yesterday met with DGd1 and Dd who is her Auntie for lunch. Dd then went back to work and Gd1 came home with me and we baked cheesecake and blueberry muffins. Such a treat to have her on her own. Her sister GD2 was at rehearsals for Shrek. She is a member of the Rubber Chicken Theatre and they are doing “a show in a week”. It is on tonight and tomorrow at the McRobert theatre in Stirling. We have tickets for tonight so looking forward to it.
Best wishes to all who are struggling.

Sorry to hear that Auntieflo - it’s definitely not gone away, has it?
Get well soon! flowers

Auntieflo Fri 05-Aug-22 10:01:17

Good morning all. I am feeling sorry for myself as yesterday I tested positive for Covid. DH was positive on Tuesday. Sore throats, headaches, and achey all over. After speaking with 111 , I am expecting a call from a Dr who will assess if I need anti virals.
Best wishes to all who are poorly or going through bad times.
Otherwise, have a good day one and all.

Blossoming Fri 05-Aug-22 09:54:32

Good morning everyone. It’s cloudy in my corner of Lancashire but lots of cloud about and it has been raining. It’s currently 14°C.

Thank you for your concern, I’m feeling rather battered and bruised this morning and will be doing very little today. I managed my 45 minutes of cycling yesterday afternoon. Mr. B took me to the garden centre to buy a potted plant as a gift. We are seeing my cousins tomorrow, it is their wedding anniversary.

I hope you’re feeling better now it’s all out of your system GrannyGravy.

Have the best day you can everyone ???

harrigran Fri 05-Aug-22 09:54:17

Late good morning from a sunny NE ?
Was awake at 7am so took tablets and fell asleep again.
Had a phone call from the hospital yesterday, someone is going to ring me this afternoon and talk to me prior to seeing a consultant.
I spent a couple of hours packing up clothes for charity, everything I packed was new and still with the labels on. DH did like to have spares for every occasion.
Hope your DD remains well during her stay kitty
Kind thoughts to all.

hollysteers Fri 05-Aug-22 09:50:05

Good morning everyone from Sunnyside northwest coast. I hope Mick has had a nice break up North.
My little car passed her MOT and it’s time it had a service, so will arrange that. I’ve emptied and cleaned it and can’t believe how much stuff I think I need in my car.
Off this morning to run through with the band and a new guitarist turning up to get the feel of things.
Thoughts to all in the sick bay and anyone with troubles.
Will enjoy reading through later.

gillgran Fri 05-Aug-22 09:41:58

Good morning all from a sunny W Kent, a pile of ironing is looking at me so I suppose I better get going. The nice chap who helps us with the gardening now is arriving late morning and that is it really. DD2 and family have gone on holiday so we are cat caring for a couple of days until her in laws turn up to stay in her house, quite a merry go round.
Stay safe everyone, sorry about the fall and the salmon, hope there are improvements all round.

aggie Fri 05-Aug-22 09:25:30

Good morning everyone from a pleasant Connemara, visiting a National Park today

Chrissielou Fri 05-Aug-22 09:14:38

Beautiful bright and sunny start to the day in Oxfordshire, it feels cool and fresh. Just waiting for Sainsburys delivery then I will sit out in the garden with coffee and toast and look over the fields, how I love an extra day off.

EkwaNimitee Fri 05-Aug-22 09:11:33

Good morning everyone from sunny but coolish Carlisle.
After early rain yesterday morning it cleared so I could mow the front lawn and plant 2 items in the back. Today its a little housework and a start on packing. DiL2 is arriving in just over a weeks time so I want to be more or less sorted before then.

Definitely yuk, GG13! I feel for you.

My thoughts are with you grandMattie now the family are all gone.

And I hope everyone has a pleasant day if possible

Jaxjacky Fri 05-Aug-22 08:47:10

Good morning from a sunny but cool Oxfordshire, no hosepipe ban for us yet, but I’m only watering the runner beans, although I don’t know why I’m bothering to be honest, only 1 bean per plant, although something has made off with every courgette as soon as it reaches 4 inches, so that was also a waste of time, (the water butt is being used for my Geraniums, but not much left in there now) , however the sweet peas have been glorious.

Loads of family stuff going on lately so I haven’t posted, you don’t all need to listen to my problems as, apart from a few tweaks here and there, they aren’t solvable ( is that even a word?)

Anyway, MzOops and family are coming through on Sunday to drop the dog off for a few days whilst they go on up to the Hadrians wall area, he’s old and can’t manage the walks any more but he loves coming here and sitting in the garden watching the butterflies, let’s hope the weather stays fine for them, she will bring some of her own honey as well as we have run out.

Busy month for Birthdays here as well, mine plus 4 others, all close family and 3 of them are ‘big’ birthdays.

Hope everyone has a good day, hugs for those who are less than chipper today.

BlueSapphire Fri 05-Aug-22 08:40:14

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny ?Northampton. I somehow didn't manage to post yesterday, must have been busy, with lots of jobs to do in the morning, then an early lunch followed by two dance classes.

A trip to Sainsbury's and M&S food this morning, sit and read in the garden after lunch, then out with DD and a wine club friend to see 'Where the Crawdads sing' this evening. We have also booked a meal out afterwards.

Then that's it for my outings till I go on holiday the week after next - I dare not get Covid between now and then so shall be isolating. Shall have to find plenty to do at home. Perhaps some on-line shopping will fill a few hours.......

Hope those.feeling poorly soon perk up. Have a lovely Friday everyone.

Stilllearning Fri 05-Aug-22 08:38:53

Morning from a lovely bright S Lanarkshire butI think it’s still chilly. Never mind I’ll settle for a blue sky!

Looking forward to a lunch celebrating a dear friend’s 80th birthday. The actual date was last week and she had her family ‘do’ then. She totally refused to have a.big party, ‘I can see no real difference between being 79 and 80’ but has allowed us this compromise.
She is an amazing woman and her very pragmatic nature helped her care for and support her farmer husband for nearly 30 years when he became tetraplegic after a dreadful tractor accident.
He had the fullest life possible and was awarded an MBE for his work in the community, They went to Buckingham Palace to receive it and while it was a fantastic achievement and he was an exceptional man, we always thought it was a pity that it couldn’t somehow be a joint award!

Hugs to those who need it and good wishes for the best day possible ???
