☕️ back to chamberpot use in lovely north Wales ??????? this morning where it’s another lovely day on the horizon. Hope Mick has enjoyed his ‘oliday in Yorkshire and will be back on duty tomorrow?

How awful your tumble Blossoming - it’s scary how easily it happens isn’t it? Take things easy for from here on ?

Not much happening at PGTowers today but some admin and a huge batch of birthday cards to sort for this month - all those pre-Christmas parties must’ve been fun, eh??

Have a lovely weekend everyone x

Pantglas2 Fri 05-Aug-22 06:29:39

Oops…missed out FRIDAY (and the year….?‍♀️)

Ladyleftfieldlover Fri 05-Aug-22 06:37:34

Morning all from West Oxfordshire. Another day with the decorators. They will finish off the hall and landing and make a start on the lounge. They will then return on Monday. OH and I managed to choose a curtain fabric from the 20 or samples! I won’t put an order in until Monday in case we change our minds.

grandMattie Fri 05-Aug-22 06:39:37

Thanks. Hanging offence, Pant ! ?
A very grey sky this morning. Think we had a teeny bit of rain during the night.
I didn’t sleep well as I was terribly hot, as well as worrying about DS’s early start. He’s off in about 5 minutes - long, long journey back to his close near Pune. Hey ho.
Hope you all have a day full of emotional ☀️ sunshine. Carpe diem. ???

grandMattie Fri 05-Aug-22 06:39:58

Close = college

monk08 Fri 05-Aug-22 06:53:46

Good morning all from a sunny Black country, small amount of rain overnight.
Not much planned may give the duster an airing, but then again I started new book yesterday so that may have a stronger pull.
Meeting our friends in Redditch this evening, we usually meet up once a week.
Enjoy your Friday everyone and may you all find some ?

Beechnut Fri 05-Aug-22 07:02:54

Good Morning everyone from sunny Severnside. I’m an August birthday Pant so fall under the ‘fun’ ?

Attention for my feet, a few errands, plant collecting and then the weekly shop for me today. Unless I nod off this afternoon I’ll carry on with my craft project.

Have the best day you can all ??

Marydoll Fri 05-Aug-22 07:04:09

Oh Pants, your favourite teacher is so disappointed and cross! Haven't you learned anything in my class!

Good morning all from a partly sunny Glasgow, where its only 8°C.
Thanks Pants for opening up!

I was upset to read of your fall yesterday, Blossoming, life is not easy for you. ?
I seem to have missed something about Harrigran being unwell, so I'm sending my best wishes. The poorly DDs and their families are never far from my thoughts.

I have nothing to report at all. I spent much of yesterday resting and having to watch a fashion show from Mr MDoll, who finally agreed to cull his wardrobe.
He tends to wear the same few garments, ignoring the tasteful clothing his personal stylist has selected for him!

My parish priest came to visit yesterday and we had a lovely gossip catch up.
The first think he asked was, Are they ( the lodgers) gone?
I had a frank chat with him about my possible future limitations and said that if he felt that I was unreliable, due to my health issues, he should say so.
He insisted that I was an asset to the parish and it was my problem solving skills and brain, which he relied on and said that others can pick up the physical duties , requiring good health.
He already had a master plan and my IT skills were required. I thought DH would be concerned at me doing too much, but he said that he thought it was a good idea, as that is my kind of thing
That made me feel a whole lot better. I feel a bit useless at the moment.

I have an empty, so I shall have to think what to get up to! ?
Wishing you all the best of days.
Only Pants had posted when I started, so I will go back and read the posts.

ginny Fri 05-Aug-22 07:11:27

Good morning everyone.
What’s on today ? A little tidying in the garden then a shower before lunch with two friends locally .
This evening I am going to the cinema to watch ‘Where the Crawdad sings‘with DD2.

Thoughs with all who are struggling in any way, hope today is good to you all.

brook2704 Fri 05-Aug-22 07:23:22

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve some light grey cloud but dry. Thanks for opening up pants
Safe journey for your DS gMattie, a long way for him to travel
Im so much looking forward to going down to Cambridge later today to visit DD2 and family. The flight isn’t until about 2.30 so I’ll have a lazy morning first and finish a bit of packing
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings ?

GrannyGravy13 Fri 05-Aug-22 07:24:13

Morning all,

I was not here yesterday due to a pesky piece of Salmon. DH fancied steak for dinner (I do not eat steak) so I defrosted a salmon fillet, it didn’t smell iffy tasted fine, but oh boy it wasn’t. I spent from 10.30pm until 7.00 am in the bathroom ugh!!! I then slept until 6.30am this morning (apart from a few minutes here and there when I endeavoured to catch up with family messages) today I feel as if I have been run over as every muscles is sore.

Will catch up later

Keep safe and well folks ?‍♀️?

brook2704 Fri 05-Aug-22 07:30:13

Oh my goodness GG13 how awful, just shows how easily these things can happen, take it easy and rest today

kittylester Fri 05-Aug-22 07:30:18

Good morning all from a bright and fairly breezy North Leicestershire.

I am off to Leicester this morning as it is DH's birthday on Sunday and I want to buy him one more thing.

This afternoon DD3 is coming to stay for a couple of nights as she is at the stage of her cycle where her temperature has to be monitored twice a day and she has to be taken to hospital within an hour.

Sending love and good wishes to all - whichever day it is.

Pittcity Fri 05-Aug-22 07:32:18

Good morning from sunny Colchester. It's very cool this morning and only 21° is forecast, which is how I like it. Still no rain.
As we were out all day yesterday today will be my usual Thursday routine of housework and shopping for the weekend.
Love to all ? x

Gingster Fri 05-Aug-22 07:35:30

Good morning all from another sunny day here in Essex,
It does feel a bit cooler though. TG!

GG poor you having food poisoning. It’s so horrid, and leaves you feeling drained! I was thinking of having salmon this evening but think I’ll leave it for another day ?.

We will meet up with our Friday friends for lunch today. Haven’t seen them for about a month or more so it will be good to catch up. I had in mind it was one of the lady’s 70th today so I have a card and voucher ready to take but now I realise it’s next week. Oh well, I’m ahead of the game.

Let us know what you think of the film Ginny. It’s on my list !

I must ask Dh to find a place for a clematis I got for my birthday. We have a small garden here with too much greenery.

I do hope everyone’s day is pleasant and stress free! ?

Nannagarra Fri 05-Aug-22 07:41:55

Good morning from Sefton where we’ve just had quite a downpour.
Thank you for the suggestions about the hallway. Paul Daniels worked with drill, screws and talc. There was much chunnering and muttering. Eventually Debbie McGee (I wish) declared silent passage in a sweetly-scented place.
Then their DSs arrived…
An early swim is on the cards (?) for me. I find it preferable to the likelihood of being sawn in half.
Have the best day possible. As ever, I’m thinking of all with worries and troubles.

ShazzaKanazza Fri 05-Aug-22 07:56:14

Good morning Pantglas and everyone from Hull it’s a fine morning. We’ve possibly got a shower later?

Hope your DD stays out of hospital while she is with you Kitty?

Sorry to hear about your bout of food poisoning GrannyGravy. It’s horrid. ?

Brook safe journey enjoy your family visit.

Safe journey too grandMattie for your DS. You’ll miss him.

This morning I have a Yoga class it will be good to see the teacher as she has had a blood infection so has been in hospital. We are going over to IKEA which is an hour away. We need a couple of large houseplants for our bedroom. On the way we will do a sweep of an Outlet. I need a couple more oversized linen tops.

Enjoy your day everyone and hoping those with illness and stress can find some relief today??

Gwenisgreat1 Fri 05-Aug-22 07:57:09

Good morning all from bright Harrogate
Sorry about your fall Blossoming
I was going to have Salmon tonight, too. Hmm! Should I?
Think we are off on a trip to Ripon today. Still haven’t heard from Mick but the wifi can be a bit iffy round Knaresborough where he’s been staying.
Have the best day possible folks

Ali23 Fri 05-Aug-22 07:58:10

Good morning all. I hope that Mick is having a great break.

I’m getting ready for a family visit soon, and did lots of bed stripping, organising of bedrooms and 4 lots of washing yesterday. I really appreciated the sun. My reward was a trip into Leicester and a bit of a mooch round followed by a free slice of cake. Lovely.

Not sure what the plan is after the dog walk today. .. the shelves need dusting if I’m desperate for a job.

I hope that your son got off ok Grandmattie.

Sending hugs to all of the poorly folk today.

Grandmabatty Fri 05-Aug-22 08:02:46

Good morning all from Polmont where it's a cool 10° and sunny. Nannagarra that made me laugh. Not a lot.(Paul Daniels catch phrase too) Brook safe journey to Cambridge. Marydoll enjoy your empty. Grannygravy how horrible for you! You'll be wiped out today.
Yesterday was very peaceful as I stayed home to get rid of this virus. I managed an ironing but was tired afterwards which isn't me. I have got rid of the headache and most of the sore throat but have developed a cough which is irritating not painful. It's mild compared to what some have to put up with. Dd took the boys to Edinburgh yesterday and dgs1 was so happy. They went by train so you can imagine his wee face at that. Then the walked up to the castle and then went to Scottish National Museum where there is a huge skeleton of a dinosaur, as well as other things. Apparently he was very well behaved.
Today will be another quiet day for me. Some pottering I think. I have a little tidying to do in the summer house but that's all. Have a good day all.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 05-Aug-22 08:06:35

Good morning all from Bridlington. The sky is a little overcast with a few gaps of blue. . It was glorious here yesterday with a light breeze. We walked up to Sewerby and had a lazy pub lunch and an ice cream.
Today we shall move the car up to the South beach have a wander there. We have to leave after lunch as we shall stop off en route home to view the other lodge this afternoon. The family are travelling home from Malaga but as they fly into Manchester and the journey on the M62 on a late Friday afternoon I don’t think we will see them today.
That sounds nasty Gg13 hope you feel better soon.

Safe travels brook
Thank you pantglas easy done. Try harder next time ??

Take care everyone.

Urmstongran Fri 05-Aug-22 08:06:57

You do make me giggle Nannagarra!

Good morning everyone from Malaga. Another day of beautiful hot sunshine. I love it. Maybe (like Beechnut) it’s because I’m an August birthday?

I’m enjoying a second cuppa on the balcony looking out at the gardens and the Mediterranean which is a sparkling turquoise this morning. It’s only a ten minute walk down but too hot to fancy going - unless I were to set off early. I can see a fishing vessel close to shore, probably coming in now with today’s catch of sardines which are very popular on the marina, barbecued on sticks called ‘espeta’. Himself loves all seafood. I do not. He eats a fish stew here and there are shells and heads bobbing about in it. Sorry to be talking about fish GG13 I bet you are still feeling somewhat delicate, poor you.

Today I shall jump into my third new swimsuit bought specially for this August lifestyle and squished into the grip bag Himself carried out! Sun factor 50, a delicious coffee at the garden bar, a dip in the pool and I think I’ll start one of my Clipper audiobooks borrowed from the library. Bliss, to be read to in the shade. I’ve brought 3. ‘The Great Gatsby’ for today I think. They are so portable, small & you just need your own ear buds. Here’s a photo showing scale. Aren’t libraries wonderful? The librarian educated me about ‘BorrowBox’ using my membership number and I’ll look into using it when I get home. The app is free too! Anyone else use it?

cornergran Fri 05-Aug-22 08:07:51

Morning All from a sunny corner of Somerset. Thanks for opening pantglas.

Our friends have gone, our home more or less back to normal, three washer loads completed. Hopped over to the garden centre to find a plant for a flower-less corner then collapsed in a heap. Today it’s admin for me, ironing for Mr C (he did volunteer), and a possibly fruitless attempt to speak to our friend in hospital. Unfortunately although her hip is fixed she is more muddled.

Neighbours are off for two weeks leaving us in charge of plumbers attempting to fix a leak in their kitchen. Always something for sure, I’m just relieved it’s not our kitchen as it looks as if much has spoiled.

You’ll miss your son grandmattie, look after yourself. Hope no emergency hospital run with your daughter kitty. That sounds nasty gg. A good idea to rest today, you too marydoll or at least just let your brain be active.

Take care everyone. Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Greyduster Fri 05-Aug-22 08:07:53

Good morning all GNs and Michael in absentia. We’ve had some overnight rain in South Yorkshire and it’s cool. I cut the front lawn yesterday afternoon and tidied up the rockery. Then I suddenly felt rather flat and didn’t want to do anything at all, though I hauled myself out for a walk down the lane after tea. Today I will concentrate on the inside of the house as DS and DiL are coming tomorrow for an overnight stay. It will be good to see them.
Have the best day you can folks.

Grandmadinosaur Fri 05-Aug-22 08:08:52

I am envious of your trip to
IKEA Shazza my DH won’t go near the place ?
