Salami - so greasy and fatty!

Musicgirl Fri 05-Aug-22 14:50:36

Custard, hot milk, blancmange, nuts. I could not drink a glass of milk or milk shake either.

Nandalot Fri 05-Aug-22 14:46:22

Pistachios. Once had a praline made by DD’s friend that was very rich and had pistachios in. I was violently sick afterwards. Cannot face the thought of them now. Even typing this and thinking about them my stomach is turning over.

Meat oozing blood and fish with bones in. Eeurgh! Make my swallowing mechanism seize up in anticipation

Blondiescot Fri 05-Aug-22 14:33:24

Is this not just turning into a thread of 'food I don't like' rather than can't eat?

Maggiemaybe Fri 05-Aug-22 14:14:04

I can eat most things, but can't bear the thought of eating offal. Or fatty meat, eels, octopus. Even though I love seafood, including mussels and winkles, I've only tried a whelk once. envy

Offal and whole prawns, but like pate( liver) and prawn toast mad isn't it.

JaneJudge Fri 05-Aug-22 14:10:41

oh also black pudding. I buy it very occasionally as a treat for my husband but what on earth is nice/attractive about it? His mate once bought him a massive black covered sausage of it from Blackpool or somewhere which i had to cut up and freeze, weirdos

JaneJudge Fri 05-Aug-22 14:09:04

oysters, the thought of it just makes me think of something unthinkable eyeballs in sperm

GagaJo Fri 05-Aug-22 14:07:17

Kidneys. Taste too much of wee.
Black pudding. Something about the taste sticks in the back of my throat.

Grannybags Fri 05-Aug-22 13:38:34

Lychees - too much like eyeballs!

timetogo2016 Fri 05-Aug-22 13:37:03

Any offal, fish with it`s head still on,same as prawns.
Tripe,i hear enough of that so don`t feel the need to taste it.
Egg custards turn my stomach,as does lumpy gravy.

Ladyf Fri 05-Aug-22 13:28:05

Pasta - it's the texture.
Natural yoghurt - anything creamy including dressings, sauces, mayonnaise and salad cream.

I'm with you maddyone on the gravy, sauce and dressing. There is nothing worse that having your meal swimming in any of the above.

PinkCosmos Fri 05-Aug-22 12:57:07

Cheese - unless it is cooked e.g. on top of a lasagne. Uncooked cheese used to make me ill as a child. It took my parents a while to work this out so I was ill off it quite a bit.

Mangoes - they smell like sick to me

midgey Fri 05-Aug-22 12:29:30

Curry! An older cousin took me out to dinner and I had several large gins…..but it was the curry that that made me so I’ll the next day ?!

Cabbie21 Fri 05-Aug-22 12:00:39

Another vote against oysters and tripe, plus beetroot.

Grammaretto Fri 05-Aug-22 11:58:05

Any animal.
Parsnips

MiniMoon Fri 05-Aug-22 11:56:49

Cream horns. I was 11 and went to a Christmas party held for the employees' children at my Dad's workplace.
The following morning I was very sick. It turned out that I had yellow jaundice and had to isolate in my room for 2 weeks.
In my 11 year old mind, I associated my sickness with the cream horn.
I've never eaten one since.

Cucumber is the food of the devil, slimy and crunchy all in same disgusting package. - yuck. I don’t like melon either. I also don’t like tea at all, the smell turns my stomach.

annodomini Fri 05-Aug-22 11:55:13

Avocado which I 'discovered' long before it became fashionable as a 'super food'. I found that it caused acute nausea and worse. Coffee which I loved, but gradually realised that it didn't love me. And I was living in a country where it was grown!

toscalily Fri 05-Aug-22 11:30:10

I'm not a fussy eater, normal likes & dislikes but Raw Oysters & Tripe, never. My mother used to cook tripe & onions, the thought makes my stomach turn.

Blossoming Fri 05-Aug-22 11:29:18

Anchovies and Camembert

MerylStreep Fri 05-Aug-22 11:27:40

Tripe and whelks. My father was often trying different things.
Fried cucumber is not something to be repeated ( no pun intended) ?

Witzend Fri 05-Aug-22 11:26:34

Meat fat, cream, milk (on its own), fennel.

Only other thing is sea cucumber, which we were given at a Chinese wedding banquet - not that we’re ever likely to ever be given that again, thank goodness. Absolutely foul-textured orange slime - none of us on the Brit-relations table could get it down. The bride (a SiL) later told me that they don’t like it, either, but it’s traditional. Probably a fertility thing IMO - given the phallic shape of them - I’ve seen plenty in the sea.

I have an allergy to the bugs that turn milk into cheese or yoghurt. I never knowingly eat either of these, but am often caught out by their unexpected presence in dishes when eating out. I so wish producers would stick to fresh cream in sauces, puddings, etc. instead of using crème fraiche - one bite and I'll suffer for near a week.
