WELCOME

We once took the seaplane from the Science Centre on the Clyde up to Oban. It flew very low and the scenery was fabulous. We landed in Oban Bay then travelled to Mull. After a few days in Tobermoray we took the seaplane back to Glasgow. Such a memorable trip. I hope you enjoy the ride.
Thank you, GG13, I hope so too!
Grannmarie I am really phobic regarding planes/flying. Several years ago due to weather conditions we had to take a seaplane to get off of a small island, I was petrified but it was actually fabulous.
I hope you enjoy it ?
Hi, Brook, the sea plane flight was a gift from family, it takes off from Loch Lomond and flies over the Isle of Bute, taking in a lot of the Firth of Clyde. I've never been on a small plane or helicopter before, DH has, he is so looking forward to it and I am excited/ terrified!!! Hopefully I'll have photos tomorrow evening.
Your walks sound amazing, so scenic and historic. You must both be super fit! Enjoy glamping in the shepherd's hut, sounds very comfy and cosy!.
Coincidentally, we bought an air fryer last night in Asda, impulse buy! We made sausage and bacon in it this morning, great.
I’m sending you a pm llfl need to pick your brains!
Oooh grannmarie are you actually going on a sea plane trip tomorrow?? How brilliant - enjoy every single minute and post some pictures if you can!
A very Happy Birthday to Damian Yia I hope he’s had a fabulous day!
Today was an interesting day walking around Portland - first we walked a bit along Chesil Beach which was hard going on the legs then onto Portland, passing a massive Marina and Sailing centre, a prison, a few quarries and eventually arrived at the Portland Bill lighthouse where we had our usual picnic lunch and an ice cream. Tomorrow we’ve a longish day hiking to Lulworth Cove where we’re embracing the glamping experience and staying overnight in a shepherds hut ….. Hopefully slightly better than the tent experience we had on our last trip with the nighttime trek across the field to the compost toilets ?♀️
We got an air fryer a few weeks ago Jax and use it all the time now. Much quicker than the normal oven and more economical too. It took us a while to get used to it but we wouldn’t be without it now
Hopefully the chat with your GP will be ok Llfl and nothing to worry about
Take care everyone and TOYA
Hi all thank you all for Imogen’s birthday wishes and a Happy Birthday to Damien ?
Imogen did have a day out in a water park with her friends on Monday, so although today was quieter, she was fine and their Mum is taking them out for dinner tonight.
Our new air fryer arrived today, well, our first one, it’s looks lovely, just need to learn how to use it now!
Pleased your meal went well llfl enjoy yours tomorrow Blossoming. Not too wet tomorrow I hope brook
Have a good evening all x
Good evening, Soop and lovely Kitchen people!? Good luck with your decluttering, Soop, I find it's a job that requires a specific, almost ruthless, mindset...
Have a lovely evening celebrating Damien's birthday, YiaYia!
Jaxjacky, I hope Imogen is having a wonderful day , birthday celebrations all round!???
Good to see you again, Naughtyneine, take care!
Nannytopsy, enjoy your cuddles with Fergus, you are a great help to your DD, the rest will do her good.
We drove along the Ayr Coastal route today, stopping and starting, revisiting pretty places we used to take the boys when they were wee...1970s, 80s...Turnberry, Maidens, Croy, Dunure...we had another picnic lunch at Ayr seafront, enjoying the sunshine and the views, very calming. Back at the bungalow now, sitting on the verandah listening to Absolute 80s on Alexa, wine chilling for later.
Tomorrow we are driving up to Loch Lomond for our previously postponed sea plane trip...did I tell you I am a wee bit nervous??? I'll need to dig out the Rescue Remedy!
Wishing you all a lovely evening, TOYA.
Good afternoon dear Kitcheners, Mmmm, hot buttered toast, thank you Sue, Perfect in this weather. Glad you had a lovely, albeit brief, visit yesterday Muse and a happy birthday to your granddaughter. A happy birthday also to Imogen and Damien. I’m pleased your lunch went well LadyLL.
My day didn’t go to plan, we were going out for lunch but had a message this morning to say UPS would be delivering a package at lunchtime, It’s a specialist and expensive book that I ordered as a present for Mr, B and it has been much delayed for various reasons. Anyway it arrived safely today, it’s huge and heavy! So we will be going out for our pub lunch tomorrow instead.
Hello all. Well, I had a lovely lunch with my meltdown friend. We sat outside by a lake and ate some delicious food. She is an academic at Oxford, who at the age of 72 still can’t bear the thought of retirement! I retired at 61. I had to ring my GP surgery later as I had been left a message that she had a message for me. She wants to talk to me on Monday. My first liver function blood test was borderline so I had another one this week. This one obviously isn’t borderline (I looked the results up on my NHS app) so must be why she wants to talk about it. Eek.
Good afternoon Kitcheners.
I’m so pleased for you Muse, you must be very happy to see your DS and GD and can now look forward to the next time.
Hope Imogen has a lovely birthday Jax.Its Damian’s my eldest grandson’s birthday today. He’s 16!the years have just flown by.
We are all going to an American themed restaurant later.
Another celebration, so many family birthdays in the last month, I need a month to get over it all.
Have a nice afternoon and evening everyone.
Hi kitcheners, like soop I am having a clear out this afternoon. Just sorted out my handbags and swopped to a darker one as we are in Autumn. I really do not need anymore bags, but …
Have sorted out underwear drawer and about to start on summer tops, but instead I am lying in the bed scrolling GN ?
Enjoy your afternoon, whatever you are doing ?
Jax Happy birthday greetings to dear Imogen
muse Having lived in Cornwall, I can testify to the villages and beaches being over run with visitors especially at holiday time. One reason why we love living here...it is both peaceful, and unspoiled by mega tourism.
Grandmabatty You remain in our thoughts.
SueD There is nothing quite as appetising as freshly made toasted bread. In fact, MrS made a loaf yesterday. I had the crusty end bits smothered with butter and Marmite.
Carry on with the good work. Moving house is not for the faint-hearted. Yet, one day, you will realise that you have a place for everything, and everything in it's place. Very rewarding.
Grannygravy You are one of us lot. Stay as long as you wish. We like your company. x
Shazza I am also very fond of goats. Such inquisitive creatures. I saw a clip of a film in which a goat had perfected the art of lifting the latch of the door into a farm kitchen. It then invited other members of the family/herd to join him.
I am about to blitz the computer/music/ art studio room and rid it of gubbins that I have "saved" because it might be useful (but isn't.) It will be a long job. Mid way through, I shall question my sanity. At the end of the afternoon...I may congratulate myself. We shall see.
Good Afternoon Kitchen people.
I hope you manage to read on here Grandmabatty. Thinking of you and the family issues. Hope they are resolved soon. I think I've turned the corner with my DS's issues. Hope so.
I remember well the insets before term starts Jax. Hope your daughter has a smooth return to work. Happy birthday to Imogen. Same age as my GD - the one I saw yesterday.
We had a fantastic hour together when my DS and GD came yesterday. Short visit as they wanted to fit another beach in. Bank Holiday Monday was terrible for them. They tried to park at two beaches with no success but eventually found one mid afternoon. They won't book Cornwall holidays on a Bank Holiday week again! DS is arranging another visit soon. A long weekend.
Thank you for the delicious toast SueD. Clever you.
TOYA, Grandmabatty, I know how
' family situations ' can cause anxiety and sleepless nights, take good care of yourself...?
Muse, I hope you have had a lovely time with your son and granddaughter, making special memories.
Jaxjacky, my wee car is in the garage just now, we're using DH's car. I don't drive his often, I'm really missing mine and hoping that it is restored to its former glory when we return home. Happy birthday to Imogen, a young lady now!
Shazza, I wish it was me on the paddle board! Those girls are young and slim...I fail on both counts! ? You are so good to your wee grandson, I'm sure he loves his time with you.
Hello ? Grannygravy! And all new visitors to Soop's wonderful kitchen... I love our safe place and the kind people who frequent it.?
Thanks for the toast, SueD, happy new kitchen!
TOYA, NNGB
grandmabatty
.
Just a quick visit to the Kitchen for me. I’ve finally got my own kitchen into a usable state after our house move. Just the rest of the house to do now!
I’ve also restocked with food so if anyone wants home-made bread toasted buttered, it’s here.
Take care everyone! Xx
Hope Imogen has a lovely birthday tomorrow. Have a great day. ?
Thinking of you Grandmabatty ?
A very Happy 15th Birthday to Imogen for tomorrow Jax, enjoy spending time together
Hi all, I have my car back as MrJ’s has been fixed, hurray! Also took delivery of the latest Robert Galbraith book, it’s a big book.
We have the grandchildren tomorrow as my daughter has to work, preparation on the inset day, she feels bad as it’s Imogen’s birthday, we’ll do our best. Can’t believe she’ll be 15, I first met her 20 minutes after delivery.
They had a week in Weymouth brook just a couple of weeks ago, it is lovely, we’ll be down that way in November.
Another stunning sunset soop I’m a tad jealous.
Enjoy your evening all x
Good evening dear Kitcheners.
Very tired tonight after having Grandson. Maw I know how you feel though I’m mentally exhausted.? Bit of a tough one today. Only one more day to go and he’s back at school next week.
The farm we went to was lovely in fact I might go back on my own because I absolutely love goats and sheep and can feed them all day. So many tubs of food I bought were emptied out in one go.
Just chilling with a glass of wine. Though after the day I’ve had it’s tempting to empty the bottle lol. But I won’t.
Brook you are marvellous with all your walking.
Hi Bellanonna I need to message you ? x
Soop wonderful sunset as ever you are so lucky.
Have a good evening everyone. Speak soon ?X
I have been in the corner of the kitchen but not posting very often, it is both a busy place, and a haven of peace and support.
When GN gets controversial and life throws us curve balls, we can rely on the support and friendship here ☕️?❤️
