Those are some lovely photos soop, thank you for sharing with us. I'm pleased you had a good family get together. Priceless memories indeed.

We actually had a little rain today, I got quite excited! Much more needed here in the middle of East Anglia. It's still very warm & humid, but forecast to cool over the next few days, thank goodness.

Warm thoughts for you all.

Charleygirl5 Tue 16-Aug-22 18:58:25

Welcome home soop. The children are gorgeous. I am sure that Sweetie Pie will know you are home again and soon will be looking for a meal or three.

Enjoy the cooler weather.

I was driving today when a few drops of rain fell, there was so little I did not need to use my windscreen wipers. I know there have been floods not too far away.

Apparently the hot weather is returning middle of next week. Like corner I would love to be looking for a cardigan and also use my duvet on my bed again.
TOYA

Welcome back soop. Good to see you. Delighted you had an excellent time. Those children are beautiful.

The rain has arrived here and whisper this - I’m cold grin. Off to find a cardy and some socks.

Beautiful photos soop obviously your son takes after his mum who is a truly creative writer .

brook2704 Tue 16-Aug-22 16:49:35

What beautiful pictures soop and welcome back home! It sounds and looks like you’ve had a wonderful time with precious family memories

Grandmabatty Tue 16-Aug-22 16:42:17

Welcome back*Soop*. These are beautiful great grandchildren indeed. I'm so glad that you had a lovely time. I have been excessively lazy today but I don't care! The rain has stopped now but there are heavy clouds above so more rain may fall. Dgs1 had his first dentist appointment because of the effects of covid lockdown and he was a perfect star. His baby brother beamed as he bit the dentist. I feel cold! The heat wave has long gone. Have a good evening Kitcheners.

ShazzaKanazza Tue 16-Aug-22 16:41:10

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. We have none of the promised rain yet?‍♀️
I’ve put a picture on of our beautiful green patch of grass where the water chute has been compared to the rest of the lawn.
I’ve taken it up to dry and put away for a while it’s only going to be 19 up here tomorrow. Whoo whoo cool after the heat.

Beautiful pictures and memories Soop

Ladyleftfieldlover the fabric is gorgeous put a pic on when they are up.

Yia lovely to hear you’ve had special family time too. Hold ups are becoming a way of life at the moment!

Have a good afternoon and evening everyone x ?

Yiayia4 Tue 16-Aug-22 16:20:30

Lovely photos Soop. Pleased you had a wonderful family reunion.
Very nice design LLFL. You have great taste.

We arrived home last evening. It was a very nice break and so good to spend time with DS3 and DIl. We don’t see them that often so good to catch up.I think it did DH good to be away for a few days.Sadly coming home we waited at Calais port for 2 hours to go through border control, no hold ups on the French side!
We have a few heavy showers today but no storms yet, feels much cooler.
Have a pleasant evening all.

Grannmarie Tue 16-Aug-22 15:59:24

What beautiful photos Soop! Welcome back.

soop Tue 16-Aug-22 15:44:51

Ta dah! I have just this minute lost my message and three photos. I shall need to begin afresh. We have had the best time ever with the family. Travelled hundreds of miles by coach, plane and car. We now have priceless memories.
It isn't possible to read all your messages since I went away. Tomorrow, I hope to have caught up with myself and will do so then.
I'm not allowed to advertise on this forum. Any Kitchener interested in learning the details on the book that my son and his partner have had published, please send me a private message. I may be biased...I think that it may become a best seller.
Pics of greatgrandchildren...

Here it is!

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 16-Aug-22 12:14:32

Well folks, straight after breakfast OH and I chose the fabric for the hall and landing curtains. I have ordered them. We have gone a bit rogue as usual. Pink and purple flowers with white rabbits!

‘Evening All’

We’ve had a stiff breeze here in Malaga today which helped against the heat. We came up early from the gardens, got ready and went down to the marina. Very buzzy. Lots of locals as it was a bank holiday Monday here. ‘Assumption of Mary’ I think. Anyway table for six at ‘Jacks’ after the grandchildren fed the fish first. €1 a bag of stale bread so we bought them 3 bags EACH ha! While we enjoyed a drink looking out at the boats.

Home now, much cooler tonight. Just made a cup of tea.
Ready for bed soon it’s been a great but tiring day. We genuinely do not know where Himself finds his energy...

cornergran Mon 15-Aug-22 22:48:16

Enjoyed reading about all the involvement with the younger ones. Fun for sure but totallly agree, exhausting.

We’ve had a wonderful if exhausting two days with our 7 year old who has autism. It’s keeping things just as he expects that is exhausting, he is as good as gold, just needs to understand every detail. Lots of paddling and general messing around with water yesterday. Today we trundled off along a couple of motorways to take him to part of his birthday present, a visit to the SS Great Britain. As he loved it so did we.

The staff and volunteers were totally supportive, allowing him to duck out to find some quiet when he needed to and to visit the site in the order that suited his needs, rather than the advised order. Lots of information to then take home to his parents, always something he enjoys.

Tomorrow we plan to do - nothing! Back to normal on Wednesday maybe grin.

Hope the overheating settles Blossoming and Ladylfl, so debilitating. Mine has just retreated, a huge relief for sure.

We’re told just a little rain here today, no storms which is not a bad thing but we certainly could do with sustained gentle rain, preferably over night. That would do wonders.

Apologies, I can remember no more of your news. Good night all. TOYA.

Sounds idyllic Dogs! I haven’t mastered the art of going to bed early.
We have just had our evening meal in the garden, what DH called fusion cuisine. Sausage and bacon in the same sandwich! ?
We were visited by a male sparrow hawk while we were out there and then we picked up 3 different kinds of bay on the detector - pipistrelle, long eared and noctule. A good night!
DGC are coming tomorrow for the day. We must think of something to do! It hasn’t rained here today apart from a few spots but who knows what tomorrow will bring?
Sleep tight everyone!

Dogsmakemesmile Mon 15-Aug-22 21:14:40

Evening all kitcheners. So relieved that today was cooler than yesterday. We have had some long heavy rain showers too. Can almost see the grass turning back to green. I never thought I would find the weather so interesting!
I hope all are well. Spent today looking after grandchildren. Lovely but long day. Have had the summer off so not used to eight hours of childcare duties. Have tomorrow's activities planned out in my head. Today was rather chaotic!
Have scooted round doing housework. In bed watching iplayer programmes. Think it will be radio four time soon.
Best wishes to all.

ShazzaKanazza Mon 15-Aug-22 19:53:50

Good evening dear Kitcheners. Just had a cold bath to cool down. Ran it for GS this aft who had a dip and he kept running the cold water.
DH had jumped in to cool off after work and now me so refreshing.
Has GS all day and he just played on the slide and water chute. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been up and down the garden with the watering can throwing it on the slide and chute. At one point he fell off the top of the slide and onto the grass. Bless him after cuddles and his weighted blanket and calpol he was back out there running around and back on the slide so no real harm done thank goodness phew!!

We’ve just had a yellow chicken curry. DHs favourite. I’m so tired so won’t be having a late night as up at half five in the morning.

Speak soon everyone and have a good evening. Looking forward to cooler nights sleeps. ?

Back again! It has rained, but not much so far. The temperature is below last week’s, but I’m still struggling with overheating after any activity. I’ve vacuumed the bedroom, done my exercises and cycling, and spent a pleasant couple of hours on my Gaelic studies.
Hope you have a better night GrandmaBatty. I think LadyLL is right, we’re all suffering from heat exhaustion.

brook2704 Mon 15-Aug-22 16:48:38

We’ve just dropped the DGC off home after we had a last minute request for a sleepover last night. They’ve been good but as we all know it’s exhausting so I’ll not be doing much later. They’re back to school tomorrow - the holidays have flown by and we’ve had great weather this year too!
Bet you can’t wait for more cuddles nannytopsy
Hope you sleep better tonight grandmabatty

Ladyleftfieldlover Mon 15-Aug-22 16:28:40

Hello everyone. I am having a lazy afternoon. I went to Waitrose this morning and also dropped off a bag of books at a local charity shop. OH has gone to a U3A croquet/golf afternoon. I have been looking at half a dozen fabric samples for the hall and landing. But I feel exhausted! I wonder if I’m still recovering from the extreme heat - fortunately it’s only 26 degrees today!

Grandmabatty Mon 15-Aug-22 15:53:20

Good afternoon kitcheners from a very lazy gran here a la Urms. I was awake quite a bit in the night because of thunder and lightning, therefore I'm a tired bunny today and have done little. My delivery of wine is here and put away so I could go out, but I don't want to. It's still raining so the reservoirs should be replenished soon. More thunder and lightning is forecast later. I've done some Spanish and started a drawing so I feel I've accomplished something at any rate. ? Mince round and mashed potatoes with veg for dinner. Have a good evening Kitcheners.

Blossoming Mon 15-Aug-22 13:17:25

Good afternoon dear Kitcheners. It’s finally raining here, but it’s so light you can hardly see it! Last night was really hot, humid and horrible. I changed bedding and did laundry yesterday too NannyTopsy, I wanted to get it out of the way before the forecast rain. Good news about Fergus, enjoy those granny cuddles when you see him.
