I love a list, especially when it’s full of ticks!
Todays list is;

Clean fridge
Ironing
Market fruit & veg.
Collect parcel.
Phone contracts to sort
Confirm & print out France accommodations.

What’s on your to do list today?

I don’t have a to do list since I retired ?

Went around town first thing for a couple of hours, suddenly felt light headed then spent rest of day with a form of heat exhaustion! Intend to sit outside at 10pm to feel cooler and watch the stars.

I need to complete my tax return, but I have been putting it off. It keeps sliding off the bottom of my list.
Too hot for housework, but anything vaguely energetic will be done before 11 am. Then I will list what I have done so I can cross it off.
August is a month with few commitments but I seem to have done nothing in the way of extra jobs for the first ten days .

I am going to write things on my not to do list.

Mouseybrown60 Thu 11-Aug-22 23:35:22

Which will be just about everything!

They do say (whoever "they" are) that lists are good for your mental health.
Being able to tick things off, a sense of achievement, and so on.

I love a to do list. It organises my brain. I caught the habit from my late husband who kept a pad and pen on kitchen table and every morning he would write his. I still have his last pad which I treasure.

Yes Miss A, yes I have a bus pass but can no longer walk to a bus stop never ind get onto a bus anymore it is very depressing.

Mouseybrown60 Thu 11-Aug-22 23:48:04

Mind not ind

MissAdventure Thu 11-Aug-22 23:49:21

Well, that is exactly my problem, word for word.
I hadnt even thought of hauling myself onto the bus, actually.

I know I can't get to the stop as there is nowhere to rest.

Mouseybrown60 Thu 11-Aug-22 23:59:22

iI use a rollator cost about £50 so as can get to a local shop..

MissAdventure Fri 12-Aug-22 00:02:15

That is exactly what I've been thinking and droning on about today.

About a ten minute walk, but with nowhere to rest, it may as well be in the Himalayas.

If I had something to lean over, I think I could make it.

Mouseybrown60 Fri 12-Aug-22 00:07:33

Will pm you tomorrow about. A possible one that might help you

I have the washing machine going so need to top up the water tank with hose from stand pipe. I have started giving the weeping willow a haircut but blister started to appear on hand so will finish another day. I have to take toilet cassette to empty...ten minute walk with it on wagon to my car and then to emptying point. I will water veg buckets and flower pots this evening. Might sit and read under parasol on the jetty later as long as there is a cooling breeze. Need to go hang washing out now. Will be dry in no time....

Procrastination is my middle name!

Jaylou Sat 13-Aug-22 11:34:25

My to do list is a lot longer than the list of what I know I will do today

Cabbie21 Sat 13-Aug-22 11:34:34

Today I popped over the road to Aldi before breakfast for a few things. Then I cleaned the bathroom and washed the kitchen floor, pushed the Shark round the most used areas.
Not sure how much else I can be bothered to do today as it is too hot. I have not made a list yet today.

HowVeryDareYou Sat 13-Aug-22 11:51:20

I've done 2 lots of washing, hung it all out. I'll tidy up upstairs later (when the GC have gone out) and change my bed. Not much else, it's going to be too hot today

MissAdventure Sat 13-Aug-22 11:54:07

I really have got so, so much to do today, that can't be left.
My flat is in a terrible, terrible state. blush

Patsy429 Sat 13-Aug-22 11:58:48

I must, must do my writing homework for my U3A class on Monday. I've had two weeks to do it and yet again it's left to the last minute. But the topics have not inspired me! Help please on : a fence or a barrier; a cloud; never again! See what I mean?

Coco51 Sat 13-Aug-22 12:00:57

Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow!

Witzend Sat 13-Aug-22 12:01:16

Bus into town later to M&S, not that I feel like it at all, because I badly need new bras - current ones starting to fall apart. Also Boots, because I can’t find the only lipstick I possess at the moment. Where on earth it is God knows - used it in the car the other day but it’s not there, nor in my bag. Shall buy 2 this time. Might even have enough Boots points to pay for them.?

Happysexagenarian Sat 13-Aug-22 12:06:10

Keeping cool
Reading my new book
Trying not to doze off in the heat

There's a million things I should be doing to prepare for visitors but I just can't be bothered.... maybe next week, if it's cooler.

Rosina Sat 13-Aug-22 12:06:20

Out early to buy flowers and wine for visiting tomorrow.
On phone for half an hour trying to sort out newspaper subscription for third time - think it is done now but won't hold breath.
Grass cut - looks better , surprisingly, in spite of Weetabix appearance.
Washed delicate things - now dry as crisps on the line!
Too hot to function now - might read new book this afternoon.
