David Cassidy was my first poster pinup, I used to tape all the songs off the TV when The Partridge Family was on. I hung a microphone over the TV and my whole family had to stay quiet! My brother often didn't oblige.
Then I moved onto Roger Taylor of Queen, the hair, his eyes mmm.

What an eclectic selection. A few names I had forgotten and a few I'd not heard off. The common theme seems to be they all had good hair!

LOL, we didn't really have posters in the 50s and early 60s.

But when reading the title, I was more thinking about posters from this site lol!

Marc Bolan, Paul Rodgers (Free), Andy Fairweather Low.

In my more earnest student phase, Che Guevara, Shadowfax and some Soviet Russia propaganda posters, all of which I’ve put away carefully with a note on for the family as they’re worth a bob or two.

Davy Jones, followed by David Cassidy and Little Jimmy Osmond (hmm). Also Brian Connolly of the Sweet.

I can't remember having them on my wall, at school we'd stick pin ups inside those lift up desk tops. My pin ups, if I'd been allowed to have them on the wall would have started with Paul McCartney and he would have been followed by Scot Walker, Davy Jones I think I liked Stevie Marriot for a while, or at least his hair, Jim Morrison The Doors front man. Then I went on to actors, Al Pacino being one.

I was not allowed posters. My bedroom resembled any hotel room, very impersonal.

I wasn’t allowed posters, my mum ripped up any I had.

Russ Conway! Thought he was gorgeous, but no posters at my house if I remember correctly.

Mick Ronson. The answer to every maidens prayer. grin I still adore Mick to this day. Bowie also, but he scared me a bit. The androgyny thing was a bit weird, but so wonderfully alluring to my 13/14 year old mind!

I shared a room with a youger sister ,I moved out and in with my older sister because I hated all the posters on the walls .ceiling and even inside of cupboard doors .No posters on my walls ever .I always loved music ,not the image of the artist, that wasn't important to me

My sister loved Robert Horton. Gorgeous man.

Kate1949 Fri 12-Aug-22 22:06:00

The Kinks marvellous. I saw them a few times and Ray Davies solo in later years. I really should have apologised for being part of a group that chased Ray and Dave Davies around Birmingham.

merlotgran Fri 12-Aug-22 22:04:47

The Beatles, Natch!

The French singer Richard Anthony, Paul Newman and Adam Faith.

Robert Horton in my very early teens.
