At the moment no breeze, I did rumbles in the night , but its dry.
Today , a easy day with housework ,and see how the day develops .
Take Care,
Mick

Good morning all from very wet South Lanarkshire. The thunder which has been crashing throughout the night is still rumbling around.

I’ve enjoyed the mini summer but it seems to have come to an abrupt end.

We have a funeral this morning, the father of a friend who is devastated by his death, poor soul.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning from an overcast NE.
SIL came yesterday and we went for a walk before returning to the garden for a no alcohol beer.
We made a chicken curry for dinner and it was delicious, not too hot.
Today is DD and SIL's Pearl wedding anniversary, sadly they are in two different countries but they will share a celebration glass of fizz on Skype.
I think I will strip my bed and have a nice clean one for after the expected storm tonight. So many sticky nights lately despite the Dyson on continuously.
Have a good day everyone.

Slightly cooler and overcast so I guess it’s the beginning of the end of summer. I am not sorry! U3A meeting this morning and the funeral of a WI friend in the next village this afternoon, so what passes for a busy day.

A little fresher this morning after a sweltering night again. Hopefully we will see some long awaited rain very soon.
Work today but need to cook some of the tomatoes which are in big bowls around the kitchen, certainly a good harvest this year.
I'm very envious of the beautiful quilts, always wanted one but sewing certainly not one of my skills, unfortunately.
Need to wrap a football for my GS birthday, not going to be easy grin.

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 15° and very cloudy. We had a fabulous thunderstorm last night which went on for hours, sheet and fork lightning. I love a good storm. There's been rain too which is needed. I think there's still more to come.
Grandmattie I'm sure your quilt is going to be lovely. Gingster that is a beautiful quilt too. A very talented sewer.
Yesterday was mum's birthday and we had a family lunch. It was a tetchy affair and not great food but mum enjoyed it. I think the heat has got to some family folk!
Today I have a wine delivery due so I'll be staying home. I have no plans. I have some painting to do for an exhibition in aid of Ukraine. I'll do an hour of Spanish too. Have a good day all.

Good morning from Shropshire.Rain due at 3pm??

Sorry the family were a bit tetchy Grandmabatty but glad your mum enjoyed it.

We took mum out for lunch yesterday too.It was a restaurant that my parents went to in the seventies for dinner dances. It has just been refurbished. We had a table overlooking the river which helped as lots to comment on as mum doesn’t do conversation some days??‍♀️I sorted out her new bank card. We had to use it with the pin to activate it and then again to show her how to use contactless.DD2 is going to see her today so will reiterate how to use it.Mum does very well but is 90 next month and contactless seems a step too far for her.

Nothing much planned for me today apart from stressing about tomorrows dental appointment?

DH is going to lift the onions from the veg patch before the promised rain arrives. They have done really well considering the hot weather.I love this time of year eating the products of DH’s labours.

Have a good day everyone??

Good morning from a blessedly cool west Lancs. Since they’re digging up the road outside we have to keep the front windows shut so the cooler weather is a bonus.

ShazzaKanazza Mon 15-Aug-22 09:15:10

Kitty that is so sad I can understand you thinking that at this time of year.

I am sitting in Morrisons after shopping having a cuppa before picking up GS. I’ve just got a text to say can I pick him up now at 10. So nearly an hour to kill in their village. GSs mum is really quite unreliable. Still it makes it not such a long day. I’ll have another pot of tea. ?

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning all from a sunny W Kent. Successful lunch out yesterday with DS and DIL, it must be the first time we have eaten without the GC in many years.
A bit of a drive this morning to see an old friend and catch up, hoping her rather hectic life has slowed down a bit. DD2 and GC should be over this afternoon. I mustn't get too used to this as things will return to normal when school starts.
Best wishes all round.

Good morning all from Glasgow. Thunder rumblings and lightening last night and we now have heavy rain. The air is certainly fresher but I will miss wakening up to sunny mornings.

I have various phone calls to make today as I really must get through some of my indoor to do list. Something I have been putting off as it is nigh on impossible to find anyone willing to do small jobs, ie; repair/replace two window handles for a start!

Sad news about your friend’s father Baubles but I am sure your presence will be a comfort to your friend. ?

Best wishes to all for a good day, especially those with troubling times.

Good morning Mick and everyone. It’s cloudy and bright this morning in this corner of Lancashire, currently 21°C.

Last night was very hot, sticky and humid. No sign of any rain yet. I managed to change the bedding and get it washed yesterday. I need to attack the carpets but I felt quite sick and dizzy after my exertion. We’ll see how it goes today.

Have the best day possible all ???

Nannytopsy Mon 15-Aug-22 09:54:15

Good morning Mick and all his followers. It’s cooler with light cloud in Suffolk, thank goodness. My poor garden has suffered badly in the heat despite watering. We have been here nearly three years, so not many plants have been established long enough to survive a drought. Hope to get rain later today or tomorrow.
Click & Collect this morning, then the DGC arrive after tea for 24 hours. I had better make cake! There is a small pile of ironing to finish too.
Later in the week we are back to Kent to cuddle our new DGS again. He is a week old already!
Sad news Kitty about your neighbour but a comfortable end in our own chair might be a good way to go.
I hope the day is kind to everyone.

Good morning Mick and all from a cloudy northwest coast
Just waiting for the bus into town, I enjoy taking the bus, no bother with the car and a change and free (sort of)
Have a pile of postcards from recent jaunt to post, I like some old fashioned things, will have my nails done and most excitingly buy a holder for my kitchen roll ?
First time out with brolly too, who knows!
Will enjoy reading through later
Have a nice day

Good morning Mick, Annie and all. We have a nice breeze coming in through the lounge windows. Later the sun will be round and all blinds and curtains closed, again.
My neighbour is coming to look at our wardrobe doors, which seem to have dropped. Anyway, they need looking at as sometimes they don't like being closed. I think this heat has moved the seal in one of the windows, as it is bulging out. Another job to be sorted.
Neighbour has arrived.
Have a good day one and all.

Litterpicker Mon 15-Aug-22 11:10:30

Good morning from coastal West Sussex. It is cloudy but sun braking through. The was quite a strong breeze at the beach. I had to get going earlier than my usual this morning as I am dog sitting for a friend who is in hospital today.

Flooring done but as we will be away for a few weeks, the skirtings won’t be replaced until October, probably. The bookcases look very sad with nothing in them. I think I will put a few back just to make the room look more homely but most things cleared away will have to stay away until the skirtings are done.

I had a productive day yesterday and made strawberry ice cream from a no churn recipe in a recent Waitrose mailing. I also made a coffee cake, using up some very old eggs bb ‘sometime in the middle of June’. They looked and smelt fine.

We have friends not seen since pre Covid, coming at the weekend and staying for a few days so I need to clear my “floor piles” in our bedroom so they can sleep in there and we will use the sofa bed. The ‘spare’ bedroom has no bed as we took it to our flat in Scotland.

That was a shock to hear about your neighbour’s death Kittylester. As Nannytopsy says, it was a good death for her.

I hope all goes well for GM and Marydoll gets her voice back.

I have coffee in the pot so will pour myself a mug and read a chapter or two of my book (Denzil Meyrick, first DCI Daley thriller, set on Kintyre peninsula). I have an ‘empty’ today as DH is out volunteering.
